Abstract

This research thoroughly examines the relationship between customary law and Islamic law and how they relate to Mampatangpulo. This type of research is qualitative, and the research location is in Enrekang Duri, where a sociological and phenomenological approach is used. The data in this research comes from primary and secondary data, while the data collection techniques used in this research use observation, interviews, and documentation. Data is processed and analyzed using data reduction techniques, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research show that the process of implementing the Mampatangpulo Tradition starts from the Sangbonginna, Mangbongi tallu, Mangbongi pitu events and the peak of the Mampatangpulo event after the death of the deceased. In the process of implementing the Mampatangpulo Tradition, several stages of traditional processions are considered sacred and essential to carry out, namely Mangpepellao (Lowering), Mampakande-kande (Feeding), Manggere' beke (Slaughtering a goat). The Mampatangpulo tradition can only be carried out if the procession does not violate Islamic law. According to a review of Islamic law regarding the implementation of the Mampatangpulo tradition, the law is okay when the procession does not violate Islamic law because, in the implementation of the Mampatangpulo tradition that developed in the people of South Sulawesi, there are habits that have positive values. This research also shows a strong relationship between customary law and Islamic law in the Mampatangpulo tradition, such as in the takziah and friendship events. The results of this study confirm that the culture that develops in Indonesian society and globally can be preserved if it does not conflict with Islamic values.

Abstract

Determining inauspicious days in Javanese marriage traditions is significant. Sometimes, this leads to debates and controversies from various perspectives as it is considered contrary to Islamic law. This research aims to examine the determination of inauspicious days in Javanese marriage traditions during the month of Muharram (Suro). This study employs an empirical juridical approach using theories of social change and Islamic legal theory, particularly social tradition ('urf) and public interest (maslahah). Data is collected through interviews and literature reviews. Subsequently, the data is analyzed using these theories through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing processes. The research results reveal that the determination of inauspicious days in marriage traditions is based on the societal belief in the existence of inauspicious days for couples marrying in the month of Suro. This belief is grounded in experiences and stories passed down through generations. On the other hand, the concept of maslahah refers to the welfare or benefit for humans. In the context of inauspicious days for marriage, maslahah refers to efforts to prevent conflicts between couples and families. Furthermore, from the perspective of Islamic law, prohibiting marriage in the month of Suro in North Luwu Regency is permissible because there are no prohibitions in the Quran or hadith against it. Such traditions in Islamic law are referred to as ‘urf shahih, which are good and permissible customs as long as they do not contradict sharia. The prohibition is valid if it is based on the motivation to obey parental advice (birr al-walidayn) and as a form of respect for deceased parents, and linking everything that happens to the will of Allah SWT. However, if the tradition contradicts sharia and harms faith, then the tradition cannot be practiced.

Abstract

Bira Beach in South Sulawesi is a leading coastal tourism destination with strong potential for local economic growth through micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, many MSMEs still face challenges related to limited digital literacy, product innovation, and understanding of sustainable business management. This community service program was designed to enhance MSME competitiveness, promote sustainable business practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), improve digital literacy, and foster collaboration among entrepreneurs, academics, and local government. Using participatory collaborative and descriptive methods, the program implemented a series of workshops, mentoring sessions, and field visits focusing on financial technology adoption, creative product innovation, and sustainable creative economy training. The results show an increased understanding of sustainable business concepts, greater readiness to adopt financial technology such as QRIS and e-wallets, and enhanced digital marketing capabilities among MSME participants. The program also encouraged stronger cooperation between MSMEs and local stakeholders to support long-term independence and sustainable community-based economic development in the Bira Beach area.

Abstract

There's been a lot of research on the role of women in household welfare. In contemporary times, one effective instrument in supporting women's economic role is productive zakat. The objective of this study is to uncover and understand the direct and indirect effects between digital skills and management effectiveness on household welfare, with empowerment acting as a mediating role. This study employs a quantitative method with data collection techniques using a questionnaire and snowball sampling. Data analysis utilizes the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (SEM PLS). The results of the study reveal that digital skills have no direct or indirect influence on household welfare. Meanwhile, digital skills influence empowerment. Furthermore, effective management has an influence on household welfare and empowerment. Conversely, effective management has no influence on household welfare through the mediation of empowerment. Meanwhile, empowerment has an influence on household welfare. This study is important to identify the factors that influence women's contribution to improving household welfare through the empowerment of zakat and productive waqf funds. The results of this study are expected to serve as a basis for formulating policy recommendations for the government, zakat institutions, and the broader community.

Abstract

This research is important because several behavioral and psychological factors such as religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction, and perception are frequently reported to influence the motivation of sharia  consumers.  This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction and perception on the motivation of sharia consumers in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) method. This study was conducted with a quantitative approach and data collection techniques through Accidental Sampling, with a sample size of 110 respondents obtained through questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) method. The population in this study were sharia consumers in Indonesia.Based on the empirical findings, this study contributes theoretically by clarifying the roles and interactions of religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction, and perception in shaping sharia consumer motivation. The results also present practical implications for sharia business actors and policy makers in designing strategies that strengthen and sustain sharia consumer motivation. The novelty of this study lies in its analytical shift from prior research that primarily emphasized sharia consumer purchasing behavior, toward a deeper examination of consumer motivation. Furthermore, this study extends the discussion of boycott-related motivations by integrating non-economic variables such as religiosity, Islamic business ethics, trust, satisfaction, and perception.
