Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of company size, company size and dividend policy on company value with financial distress as a mediating variable. The population in this study are mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the 2019-2023 period. The total sample tested was 30 companies, multiplied by 5 years of observations selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis technique uses Partial Least Square (PLS) with the SmartPLS 4 program. The research results show that the variables of company size and dividend policy have a positive and significant effect on company value, while profitability has a negative and insignificant effect on company value. Company size, dividend policy have effect on financial distress, while profitability has no significant effect on financial distress, while the effect of financial stress on company value has a negative and significant effect.

Abstract

Pembinaan motivasi dan pelatihan digital marketing sangat perlu dilakukan terhadap siswa dan siswi sekolah menengah atas. Tujuan utama kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan kompetensi siswa-siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Batam dalam bidang digital marketing. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan ini menggunakan beberapa Teknik pendekatan. Pada tahap awal tim yang terdiri dari 3 orang dosen melakukan pra survey, kemudian setelah memperoleh hasil yang telah didapatkan selanjutnya dilakukan sosialisasi tentang perencanaan kegiatan yang akan dilakukan oleh tim kepada pihak sekolah dalam hal ini SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Batam. Tahapan berikutnya adalah melaksanakan kegiatan pembinaan motivasi dan pelatihan digital marketing bagi siswa dan siswi SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Batam dan Pendekatan terakhir adalah dengan melakukan evaluasi terhadap siswa dan siswi dengan memberikan sejumlah pertanyaan terkait dengan motivasi dan ketertarikan mereka menjadi seorang pengusaha dan bagaimana mengimplementasikan digital marketing dengan baik. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah adanya umpan balik yang positif dari para siswa dan siswi selama mengikuti kegiatan pembinaan dan pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil post-test para siswa menyatakan sangat berniat dan berminat untuk menjadi seorang pengusaha dimasa yang akan datang, mereka sengat antusias dan termotivasi serta tertarik dengan digital marketing karena sangat menjanjikan untuk memperoleh keuntungan. Kegiatan pembinaan dan pelatihan terhadap siswa dan siswi di SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Batam memberikan dampak positif bagi siswa dan siswi dalam menumbuh kembangkan minat siswa untuk menjadi seorang pengusaha serta mampu memaksimalkan platform digital sebagai media promosi atau digital marketing.

Abstract

Education is an important component in developing quality and competitive human resources (HR), especially in industrial areas like Batam. The inequality in the quality of education between city centers and peripheral areas, as well as the lack of educational facilities in a number of schools, hinder efforts to produce a workforce that is ready to compete at the global level. This article aims to analyze the evaluation and challenges in the Batam City Government Policy regarding Improving the Quality of Education, secondly to analyze the Education Budget Policy in Batam City, and to analyze the Education Program Innovation in Batam City. This study applies a qualitative approach with a review of scientific literature and analysis of secondary data from official documents and the media. Research findings indicate the significance of policies that prioritize adequate education budget allocation, program innovation such as e-learning, and collaboration with the private sector. The main challenge faced is the disparity between the central and peripheral areas of Batam regarding access to quality education and increasing teacher professionalism. Thus, an assessment of education policies that prioritize improving educational facilities, training and funding is very important to support sustainable economic growth and reduce social disparities in Batam.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on developing the role of human resources (HR) in MSMEs in the digital era to increase the income of micro-enterprises in Sekupang District, Batam City. The main objective of this activity is to improve the capacity and competency of MSMEs' HR so they can adapt to technological developments and increasingly dynamic market competition. Through a series of intensive training sessions and mentoring, participants will be equipped with practical skills in digital management, including digital marketing, social media management, e-commerce utilization, and digital financial literacy. This training is designed to be practical and contextual, tailored to the needs and characteristics of local MSMEs. After participating in this program, MSMEs are expected to be able to optimize digital technology to market their products, reach a wider consumer base, and manage their business finances efficiently. By improving the quality of human resources, business productivity and competitiveness will increase, ultimately impacting revenue growth and business sustainability. This activity also represents a tangible contribution from universities to fostering local community economic empowerment.

Abstract

Various new and diverse financial products require people to understand them more deeply if they want to use them. This is necessary to avoid making bad financial decisions, or, in other words, bad financial behavior. Individual finances can be managed well if the individual's financial behavior is responsible. Financial behavior is one of the issues that is widely discussed today. This has an impact on many phenomena that arise in Indonesian society related to poor financial management. This research is a quantitative study that aims to determine the influence of financial literacy, financial technology, and locus of control on financial behavior. The population in this study were students in Batam City. The sample size was taken as 115 respondents, using non-probability sampling and purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires. The analysis technique used is the PLS (partial least squares) analysis method with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of this study show that (1) financial literacy has a significant positive influence on financial behavior. (2) Financial technology has no significant influence on financial behavior. (3) Locus of control does not influence financial behavior.

Abstract

Direct marketing is very good at focusing strategies to promote specific products and services and contacting consumers to provide clearer information, analyzing characteristics and recording consumer trends. In addition, direct marketing also allows companies to choose the right and specific consumers so that customer loyalty occurs. This study aims to determine the effect of trust, commitment, communication, and conflict management on customer loyalty. This research uses descriptive quantitative method which is causal and comparative. The data were obtained by sharing the google form link with 400 respondents, namely people in Batam City as the research sample. The sampling method used was nonprobability sampling and the determination of the sample used purposive sampling. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the SPSS version 24 application. Based on a series of statistical test results, it is found that the creation of customer loyalty by paying attention to variables, trust, commitment and communication has a significant positive effect on customer loyalty. Meanwhile, conflict management has no significant effect on customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze innovation strategies in parking fee management to address illegal parking issues in Batam City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with relevant parties, field observations, and documentation. The results indicate that implementing application-based technology for parking payments, enhancing surveillance through CCTV systems, and collaborating with the private sector are effective strategies in reducing illegal parking. Additionally, increasing public awareness through socialization and education also plays a significant role. The implementation of these strategies has successfully increased local revenue from parking fees and reduced the number of illegal parking cases in urban areas. Thus, innovation in parking fee management can be an effective solution to tackle illegal parking issues and improve public service quality in Batam City.

Abstract

Understanding the actual environmental impact of businesses and assisting in the implementation of corrective measures to enhance societal value are two major advantages that green accounting offers to the idea of economic welfare. A comparative study is used as the research approach to compare how green accounting is being implemented in India, Jordan, and Indonesia. Comparative results of the adoption of green accounting in Indonesia India & Jordan were obtained through data analysis conducted through a literature study. These results indicate that the three countries are at varying stages of progress. For example, (1) India: More advanced in the implementation of green accounting, with many large companies adopting this practice and strong government support. (2) Indonesia: Still in the early stages of development, with a number of big businesses implementing green accounting and government regulations in place. (3) Jordan: The application of green accounting is still in its infancy, and numerous obstacles need to be addressed.
