Abstract

Population growth and rapid technological developments cause the need for energy to increase. Energy needs are more dominated by fossil sources, especially petroleum. However, the level of utilization of energy from fossil sources does not allow it to last long, this is because fossil energy sources have limitations. Therefore it is necessary to use alternative energy sources, one of which is biodiesel. Biodiesel can be obtained from plants. One type of plant that can produce biodiesel is the kesambi plant. However, before it is mass-produced and used in transportation and industrial machinery, it needs to be tested first. One of them is the combustion test with the droplet method. In this study, a droplet combustion test was carried out using diesel fuel by mixing kesambi biodiesel. The results showed that pure diesel fuel produced the highest temperature and the fastest ignition delay time. The high flame on diesel fuel is also the highest. However, the duration of the ignition lies in the composition of pure biodiesel fuel without mixture.

Abstract

Jumlah populasi kendaraan yang semakin meningkat menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan semakin meningkat. Salah satu alat transportasi yang paling dominan adalah sepeda motor. Sepeda motor menggunakan bahan bakar jenis bensin sebagai sumber energi untuk menggerakkan elemen mesin. Bahan bakar minyak jenis bensin di Indonesia terdiri dari beberapa produk seperti premium, pertalite, pertamax dan pertamax turbo. Bahan bakar bensin yang beredar di pasaran dapat dibedakan dari nilai RON pada masing-masing jenis bahan bakar. Namun, konsumen jarang sekali memperhatikan manfaat penggunaan nilai RON pada kendaraan dan dampak yang dihasilkan pada lingkungan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan penelitian tentang pengaruh RON terhadap emisi gas buang dan konsumsi bahan bakar. Uji emisi gas buang dilakukan dengan menggunakan gas analizer untuk mengetahui nilai HC, CO, CO2 dan O2. Pengujian dilakukan dengan memvariasikan putaran mesin (rpm). Hasil pengujian menghasilkan kadar HC terendah sebesar 43 ppm, CO terendah 0,31%, CO2 sebesar 18,8% pada putaran mesin 8.000 rpm sedangkan O2 tertinggi sebesar 21,03% pada putaran mesin 1.000 rpm dengan menggunakan pertamax turbo.

Abstract

Probolinggo is one of the regencies that is famous for its abundant papaya fruit income, this is one of the interesting ingredients to be created by the nation's children in order to stabilize the Indonesian economy. The utilization of papaya fruit is an interesting business opportunity to be pursued, in meeting these objectives, this research article is published which focuses on processing young papaya into shredded which has a high and healthy taste that can be consumed as a substitute for side dishes, and for snacks from children to adults, as well as training in the Brumbungan Lor Village Community. The samples used in this study were 3 young papaya fruits obtained around Brumbungan. The processing technique was done by shredding, draining and frying. The result is shredded papaya which has a high taste and produces a distinctive color, taste, and aroma.

Abstract

Bawang merah dari Desa Brumbungan Lor, Kecamatan Gending, Kabupaten Probolinggo, dikenal memiliki kualitas unggul dengan aroma dan rasa yang khas, menjadikannya bahan penting dalam masakan tradisional Indonesia. Kualitas bawang merah dari daerah ini didukung oleh teknik budidaya tradisional yang menjaga ukuran, warna, dan ketahanan penyimpanan yang baik. Karena keistimewaannya, bawang merah dari Brumbungan Lor memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi dan menjadi identitas lokal yang diakui.Untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk bawang merah goreng, terutama dalam hal mengurangi kadar minyak yang berlebih, telah dikembangkan alat peniris minyak. Alat ini bekerja dengan prinsip gaya sentrifugal, di mana bawang merah goreng ditempatkan dalam keranjang yang berputar dengan kecepatan tinggi, sehingga minyak dipisahkan dari produk secara efektif. Penggunaan alat ini menghasilkan bawang merah goreng yang lebih renyah, sehat, dan tahan lama, serta mengurangi limbah minyak yang tidak diinginkan. Pengujian alat peniris minyak menunjukkan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan kualitas produk dan efisiensi produksi, menjadikannya sangat cocok untuk diadopsi oleh pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) yang bergerak di bidang produksi makanan gorengan. Alat ini tidak hanya menghemat waktu dan tenaga, tetapi juga memastikan bahwa produk akhir lebih berkualitas, memenuhi standar kesehatan, dan memiliki daya saing yang lebih baik di pasar.

Abstract

Penggunaan energi terbarukan menjadi sangat penting dalam mengurangi ketergantungan pada bahan bakar fosil yang semakin langka dan mahal. Penelitian ini mengkaji integrasi Internet of Things (IoT) pada sistem pembangkit listrik hybrid portabel yang menggabungkan teknologi Pico Hidro dan panel surya. Sistem ini dirancang untuk menyediakan pasokan listrik yang stabil dan efisien di daerah terpencil, khususnya untuk penerangan lahan pertanian. Melalui integrasi IoT, pemantauan hasil daya, tegangan, dan arus dari pembangkit dapat dilakukan secara real-time, sehingga meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan memperpanjang umur komponen. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengukur daya yang dihasilkan oleh sistem hybrid dalam berbagai kondisi lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem pembangkit hybrid ini mampu menyediakan listrik yang cukup untuk kebutuhan penerangan lahan pertanian dan beroperasi secara optimal dengan bantuan IoT. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penggunaan energi terbarukan melalui penerapan teknologi hybrid portabel, menawarkan solusi berkelanjutan bagi pertanian di Kabupaten Probolinggo

Abstract

This research aims to design and develop an advanced monitoring system for solar cells, incorporating solar tracking technology and equipped with an energy storage protection system. In Indonesia, the substantial potential of solar energy remains underutilized, despite the country's advantageous equatorial location, which provides a solar radiation intensity averaging 4.5 kWh/m² per day. The proposed system in this study seeks to maximize solar energy capture by employing a tracking mechanism that aligns the solar cells with the direction of sunlight throughout the day. Additionally, the system is designed with an integrated protection feature to prevent battery overuse, thereby extending the battery's lifespan and ensuring efficient energy storage. The research utilizes an Arduino Uno microcontroller, Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensors, and an INA219 sensor module as the primary components for accurate measurement and real-time monitoring. The system's effectiveness is evaluated based on its ability to optimize solar energy reception and maintain the longevity and efficiency of the energy storage system. Experimental results demonstrate that the developed system significantly improves the efficiency of solar energy capture by the solar cells and provides robust protection for the energy storage mechanism. This study contributes to the field of renewable energy by offering a practical solution for enhancing solar energy utilization in regions with high solar irradiance, thus promoting sustainable energy practices and reducing dependence on non-renewable energy sources.

Abstract

The development of SMEs as a support for the national economy must continue to be supported. In producing Batik, it cannot be avoided that there is waste in the form of wax from used batik which can pollute the environment. UKM Batik Manggur is one of the UKM in Probolinggo, East Java Provinci, which has several problems in developing its business, including processing batik wax waste. This community service activity provides a solution by recycling batik wax waste so that it does not pollute the environment and can be reused for the batik process. The service activities carried out include training in batik wax processing and outreach to batik makers in the Probolinggo City area. Recycled Wax has good quality so it can be reused for the batik process. Using recycled wax has several benefits, including improving batik quality and reducing production costs. With this community service activity, it is hoped that Mitra can develop his business with higher quality and environmental friendly products and reduce production costs.

Abstract

Permintaan global terhadap ikan diperkirakan akan meningkat secara signifikan, dengan nilai pasar naik dari 338,47 miliar dolar AS pada 2022 menjadi 730,28 miliar dolar AS pada 2030. Namun, ekspor perikanan Indonesia hanya mencapai 5,6 miliar dolar AS pada Januari-November 2023, di bawah target 7,2 miliar dolar AS untuk 2024. Di Probolinggo, hanya 227 UKM pengolah hasil kelautan yang memiliki sertifikat P-IRT, dengan salah satu produk unggulan “Sambal Bledeg Probolinggo,” yang memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi sambal ikan asap. Mitra menghadapi tantangan, seperti masa simpan produk yang pendek, kurangnya teknologi pengemasan, dan manajemen keuangan manual. Solusi yang diusulkan meliputi investasi dalam teknologi pengemasan modern, pelatihan pengolahan ikan, dan penerapan sistem manajemen keuangan elektronik (e-finance). Proyek ini mencakup pembuatan Continuous Band Sealer dan Smokehouse, yang terbukti efektif dalam mendukung produksi. Pelatihan yang dilaksanakan mencakup penggunaan Continuous Band Sealer dan teknik pengolahan ikan asap menggunakan smokehouse. Selain itu, pelatihan e-finance dirancang untuk meningkatkan kapasitas mitra dalam pengelolaan keuangan bisnis secara efisien. Setelah pelatihan, mitra dapat mengoperasikan alat dan memproduksi sambal ikan asap yang mendapat respon positif dari konsumen. Program ini berhasil memberdayakan mitra untuk memperluas produksi dan meningkatkan daya saing di pasar lokal. Penerapan teknologi hard dan soft menunjukkan dampak positif pada kebermanfaatan dan produktivitas usaha, dengan fokus pada efisiensi dan kualitas produk.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of RLC loading on the power stability and power quality in Wind Power Plant (PLTB) systems. The RLC is applied to stabilize the power generated by the PLTB system, which tends to fluctuate due to wind speed variability. The testing was conducted by measuring the output power of the PLTB system loaded with various RLC configurations. The results show that RLC loading can enhance the apparent power stability and efficiency of the PLTB system. The resistive load (R) yielded the best performance, improving the power factor to 0.95 and maintaining relatively stable output voltage. Meanwhile, the LC loads exhibited lower efficiency with a reduced power factor, but still played a role in balancing reactive power. The reduction in reactive power for inductive and capacitive loads indicates that RLC loading can help reduce power waste and improve power quality. This research makes a significant contribution to the development of more efficient and stable PLTB systems and more reliable renewable energy-based power plants, particularly in managing power stability in the face of fluctuations caused by wind variability.

Abstract

The Solar Power Plant is hybridized with other generating systems, namely the Wind Power Plant is one of the promising alternative energies in Indonesia. Power plant hybridization is using two or more power plants with different energy sources. Generally combined and supplied with PLN or Genset, in order to obtain synergies that provide economic and technical benefits (reliability of the supply system). The hybrid generator will maximize its use if supported by its load control. Use of efficient electrical energy is balanced with the use of the load released. Hybrid plants will not occur. Based on tests that have been carried out the intensity of sunlight affects the power produced by solar cells. The highest sunlight intensity when testing is during the day at 567 Lux with a voltage value of 21.22 V and current of 0.30 A, while the lowest intensity of sunlight is at 17.00 with the intensity of sunlight 56 ​​Lux with a voltage value of 5.5 V and current 0.15 A
