Abstract

This study explains all factors relating to the definition and current research trends in how technology can improve education. This study explains how strategies are developed to create and improve the quality of education, including communication, the input of technology (such as IT, ICT, AI, AR, etc.), curriculum and education level, and the relationship between social studies, humanities, science, and industry, as well as management and facilities. We demonstrated current technology using social media, for educators to implement it to improve the teaching and learning process. Bibliometric and theoretical analysis, based on the Google Scholar database from 2018-2023, was used. The search results found 988 articles with the keywords of "Education Technology" AND "Indonesia". Research on educational technology in Indonesia has increased every year. 113 terms were found based on network visualization, which was divided into 6 clusters. The “Indonesia” term appeared 596 times and the term “education technology” appeared 133 times. Co-authorship analysis found 2035 authors have contributed. Completing this research leads to the creation of future research, determining what next research subjects can appear, especially in the field of education.

Abstract

This research explores the issues of applying bilingual education in China Panorama Curriculum, with purpose to enhance cross-cultural adaptability of ASEAN students in higher education. Employing questionnaires and interviews with a longitudinal analysis based on factors like age, gender, nationality, and time in China, to investigate the cross-cultural adaptability of ASEAN students in China, focusing on psychological and learning environment adaptation. The research uncovers challenges in adapting to the Chinese cultural landscape and proposes solutions. Cultural disparities between China and ASEAN nations are identified, with the bilingual education approach proving beneficial in fostering classroom participation and cultural exchange. However, psychological challenges persist, impacting mental well-being and academic performance. The research reveals the limited social life of ASEAN students in China, confined to campus interactions, suggesting improvements in English proficiency among teachers and encouraging active student participation in social activities. While bilingual education holds promise, the research emphasizes the need for comprehensive strategies, including teacher training and addressing socioeconomic disparities. The findings offer insights into cross-cultural adaptation complexities, highlighting the potential of bilingual education within the Panorama Curriculum. Caution is advised when generalizing beyond ASEAN students in Guangxi, China, considering potential variations in cultural, social, and educational contexts internationally.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an instructional model to improve the reading abilities of technical documents, and to enhance students’ positive learning attitudes for TVE college students in China. This study developed a teaching model based on the Information Processing Approach, Vygotsky's Scaffolding, and Motivation. This teaching mode has the characteristics and technical attributes of TVE, which can (a) improve the reading ability of TVE college students on technical documentation, and (b) enhance the students' positive learning attitude (enthusiasm). This teaching model includes (1) Principles of the model, (2) Objectives, (3) Syntax, (4) Social system, (5) Principles of reaction, and (6) Support system. Through the application of two classes at Shenzhen Institute Technology in China, it can be seen that three-information input and output activities can be formed in both applications, and there is a progressive relationship between the three activities, and the three activities can fully stimulate students' learning enthusiasm.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a curriculum based on production-oriented approach (POA) and third space theory to enhance intercultural communicative competence for college students and study the results of the implementation. Intercultural Competence Test (ICT) was administered to collect data. A total of 35 respondents were recruited from Nanfang College, Guangzhou, China. Descriptive statistics were applied to test any significant difference between pretest and post-test. The results showed that the respondents in the participating curriculum demonstrated preferences for certain strategies and significant differences were founded between pre-test and post-test. Yet, these findings are compromised to due to the small sample size, and a large-scale survey is needed to verify the results.

Abstract

Self-directed language learning is considered as one of the most important aspect of learning process leading to individual’s success in learning and working life. The systematic review study aims to explore the determinants associated with self-directed language learning of Thai EFL context, which have been carried out for a past decade between year 2013-2023. Gough’s strategy was used as a guide for the research method. The findings of relevant research articles for this study reveal the critical determinants influencing on self-directed language learning, which include digital literacy, mindfulness meditation and practices, teachers’ roles and teaching approaches, and adversity quotients. The study discusses limitation of this study and recommends future research on implication of the relevant determinants in developing instructional innovation

Abstract

This study investigated the impact of the Murdoch Integrated Approach (MIA) on improving English reading comprehension and analytical thinking among Thai Grade 5 students, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 on quality education. A one-group pretest-posttest design was implemented using eight structured learning plans over one semester. Two English reading tests were used to assess comprehension and analytical reading before and after the intervention. Results showed a significant improvement in both areas. These gains occurred because MIA promotes inquiry-based learning, active student engagement, and reflective thinking, enabling learners to interpret texts meaningfully and apply ideas critically. Although the absence of a control group requires cautious interpretation, the findings highlight the potential of MIA in enhancing essential language skills at the elementary level. This research contributes to language education by supporting pedagogical innovation aligned with global development goals.

Abstract

Purpose This study aimed to test the effect of the Murdoch Integrated Approach (MIA) on English reading comprehension and analytical reading skills among Thai Grade 5 students. Methodology A one-group pretest-posttest design was employed with 37 Grade 5 students as participants. The intervention consisted of eight 16-hour MIA learning sessions conducted over one semester. Two 30-item multiple-choice tests—one for reading comprehension and one for analytical reading—were administered before and after the intervention. The tests were validated by experts, with Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) values between 0.60 and 1.00. Discrimination indices and reliability coefficients were also reported for both tests. Results/Findings Dependent t-test results showed significant improvements in both reading comprehension and analytical reading scores. Reading comprehension scores increased from 15.08 to 20.78 (t(36) = 9.5, p < .000), and analytical reading scores improved from 14.57 to 18.11 (t(36) = 8.77, p < .000). Implication These findings suggest that the Murdoch Integrated Approach has potential to enhance students' reading skills. However, the absence of a control group means findings should be interpreted with caution. Future research using a true experimental design is recommended to provide stronger evidence of MIA's effectiveness

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a pedagogical model for innovation and entrepreneurship education that enhances students’ creativity and attitudes, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 on quality education. The model (referred to as the E-Learning- Presentation-Assimilation-Discussion-Project-Based (EPP) Model) combines online learning, structured classroom interaction, and experiential projects. Grounded in Constructivism Theory, Educational Ecology Theory, and the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), 9the model was developed using expert validation and implemented in a classroom setting. Students showed notable gains in creativity and learning attitudes after the intervention. These outcomes occurred because the model fosters active engagement, collaborative exploration, and reflective application. The impact of this integrated instructional design offers practical guidance for advancing student-centered, sustainable entrepreneurship education in higher learning institutions

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to analyze the research trends in exploring metacognition in teaching English writing to high school students. The methods used in this research were bibliometric analysis methods with VOSviewer analysis. The data were collected from research articles from the Google Scholar database, published between 2018 and 2024. According to the research results, the total documents found during the period were 199 articles. It was found that there was a decrease in the number of articles in 2019, but then it increased in 2022. However, the amount of research articles dropped in 2024. Mapping article data creates three forms of visualization; including network, overlay, and density visualization. The result of mapping reveals that research on metacognition in teaching English writing needs to be carried out, especially regarding teaching to high school students. This research concluded that the trend of research investigating metacognition in teaching English writing to high school students is decreasing, nevertheless its importance in assisting English language pedagogy.
