Abstract

This study aimed to develop an instructional model that enhances innovative thinking skills in interior design students by integrating emotional design theory, constructivist learning theory, and creative thinking theory. Using a research and development approach, the model was constructed through needs analysis, expert validation, and empirical implementation. Pre-test and post-test comparisons, along with classroom observations and student feedback, demonstrated significant improvement in flexibility, fluency, originality, and precision of thinking. The model was particularly effective because it aligns theoretical learning with practical application, encouraging student engagement and deeper cognitive processing. As a result, students demonstrated increased creativity, improved design output, and greater collaborative capacity. The instructional model presents a promising framework for fostering innovation in design education. This study supports current issues in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance students’ occupational identity and self-efficacy in art and design education through a theory-integrated self-education model. Using a mixed-methods approach grounded in Social Cognitive Theory, Vocational Identity Theory, and Career Self-Efficacy Theory, the model was developed and tested with first-year vocational students. The model’s effectiveness was evaluated through pre- and post-intervention assessments and qualitative interviews. Results revealed improvements in identity awareness, career exploration, and self-efficacy dimensions, including problem-solving and career planning. These improvements occurred because the model integrated project-based learning, industry exposure, and structured reflection, enabling students to link learning with future careers. This has implications for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (quality education) by promoting inclusive, relevant, and future-oriented learning frameworks for creative vocational education. The model provides educators and policymakers with a replicable structure for supporting professional growth in rapidly evolving industries.

Abstract

This study aimed to design an educational curriculum that enhances physical adaptation to high-altitude environments by integrating principles of sustainable development in physical education. Using a descriptive method, the research surveyed college students and professionals to assess current training practices in high-altitude settings. Results indicated limited effectiveness in explosive power, flexibility, and endurance due to environmental challenges and inadequate structural support. Because adaptation to hypoxic conditions requires targeted strategies, findings emphasize the need for altitude-specific flexibility training and psychological preparation. The curriculum development is grounded in educational frameworks and aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to support student well-being and resilience. This approach provides a scientific basis for improving physical readiness and promoting long-term health and equity in high-altitude education.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of blended learning (BL) research in higher education, focusing on its impact on English language proficiency (ELP) and alignment with Sustainable Development Goals. Using 200 Scopus-indexed articles published from 2020 to 2025, we applied Publish or Perish and VOSviewer for bibliometric analysis. Results show a pandemic-driven research surge, followed by a decline as institutions adapted. Thematic gaps emerged in the underuse of AI and gamification in ELP contexts. Geographic disparities were also evident, with minimal contributions from Global South regions. These patterns occurred because structural inequities limit digital access and research capacity in under-resourced areas. This analysis contributes by identifying emerging research priorities, supporting inclusive blended learning policies, and promoting South-South collaboration. The study has implications for advancing equitable and data-informed language education practices within hybrid learning models in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

Abstract

Teaching competency is pivotal in advancing higher education, particularly in preparing students to address sustainability challenges in the hospitality sector. This study develops a comprehensive framework that integrates the Sustainable Hospitality Education (SHE) Teacher Competency Scale with UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) competencies and the Islamic educational principles of tarbiyah (holistic nurturing), ta’dib (ethical formation), and ta’lim (knowledge cultivation). Employing a mixed-method design, qualitative data were gathered from semi-structured interviews with 20 academic experts, and quantitative data were collected from 304 undergraduate hospitality students. Thematic analysis and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) identified five key competency dimensions: Motivation and Values, Knowledge and Expertise, Pedagogical Competence, Sustainability Integration, and Collaborative Growth. The final 20-item scale demonstrated strong reliability and validity. The results highlight the significance of fostering educators’ ethical commitment, sustainability literacy, and collaborative engagement with industry stakeholders. For Islamic higher education institutions, the study provides a validated and context-sensitive framework for curriculum enhancement, professional development, and policy formulation. By aligning sustainability competencies with Islamic values of stewardship (khilafah) and social cooperation (ta’awun), the framework contributes to producing educators and graduates capable of leading transformative change toward a just and sustainable society.

Abstract

Purpose This study investigates the trends, challenges, and pedagogical implications of role-play as a method for English language learning in Thai secondary schools. Methodology Utilizing bibliometric analysis, 800 publications from 2019 to 2024 were analyzed to identify research patterns and thematic developments. Results/Findings The results reveal a consistent decline in research output, with the highest number of publications recorded in 2019 and 2020 (170 articles each), followed by a significant decrease in subsequent years. The bibliometric analysis identified 44 key terms distributed across six thematic clusters, emphasizing areas such as communication skills, student engagement, and interdisciplinary applications. Despite the declining research focus, role-play remains an effective pedagogical tool for enhancing English speaking proficiency, fostering authentic communication, and building learner confidence. However, its implementation in Thai secondary schools faces challenges, including traditional teacher-centered approaches, large class sizes, and limited resources. To address these challenges, this study highlights the potential of integrating modern technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality, into role-play activities to enhance accessibility and engagement. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of adopting performance-based assessments to evaluate students’ progress more effectively. Implications This research contributes to the understanding of role-play's enduring relevance and offers practical recommendations for its revitalization in language education. By addressing existing barriers and leveraging innovative approaches, role-play can remain a transformative strategy for fostering English language proficiency and student engagement in Thai secondary school contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Snakes and Ladders game media for the concept of number operations by integrating the cultural context of Banten. This research employs a development method using the ADDIE model—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study uses a purposive sampling technique involving 20 sixth-grade students at an elementary school in Serang, Banten, selected based on considerations such as school facilities and curriculum implementation. Data were collected through number-operation tests and student reflection journals. The data were analyzed qualitatively using thematic analysis to identify themes emerging from patterns of meaning. The results show that the ethnomathematics-based Snakes and Ladders game media can enhance students’ self-efficacy and subsequently improve their understanding of number operation concepts. Furthermore, students reported increased motivation and enthusiasm during the learning process due to the engaging and enjoyable nature of the media. This study contributes to mathematics education by offering a more meaningful and enjoyable learning experience, while also reducing students’ anxiety toward mathematics. The findings further indicate that integrating cultural elements from Banten into mathematics learning can improve students’ learning outcomes.
