Abstract

Anemia is a common health problem among adolescent girls, affecting daily activities and academic performance. Low knowledge about anemia is one of the main contributing factors to its high prevalence.   This study aims to determine the effectiveness of poster media in increasing knowledge about anemia among female students at the Arrahmah Modern Islamic Boarding School. This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 66 students at Modern Arrahmah Islamic Boarding School were selected using simple random sampling. A structured questionnaire was used for pretest and posttest, and data were analyzed using the McNemar test.  Before the intervention, most respondents had moderate knowledge (60.6%), which increased to 87.9% in the high category after the intervention. The McNemar test showed a Chi-Square value of 22.132 with a p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05).  Poster media significantly improves students' knowledge about anemia. It is recommended as a simple yet effective educational tool, especially in Islamic boarding school environments.

Abstract

Introduction: Medical emergencies require rapid, accurate, and coordinated responses to prevent disability and mortality. Family members in the Emergency Department (ED) hold a crucial role as potential first responders within the chain of survival; however, their level of knowledge and preparedness is often inadequate. Objective: This emergency nursing residency project aimed to enhance the awareness and preparedness of patient families in responding to medical emergencies through a strucred educational intervention at RS Dik Pusdikkes Puskesad Jakarta in 2025. Method: A pre-post educational intervention design wa employed with a total of 120 ED patient family members, selected through lectures, instructional videos, and demonstrations of Basic Life Support (BLS), recovery position, and activation of the 119 emergency system. Data were collected using pre-post test tests and a preparedness questionnaire. Analysis included descriptive statistics and problem mapping using Fishbone, USG (Urgency-Seriousness-Growth), and SWOT. Result: Pre-test results indicated low baseline knowledge, with an average score of 42.5%, particularly in BLS (37%), recovery position (32%), and activation of the 119 emergency service (40%). Following the intervention, knowledge significantly increased to 86.3% (an improvement of 43.8%). The greatest improvement was observed in the activation of 119 (+51%) and the recovery position (+50%). Additionally, 87% of participants reported increased confidence in responding to emergencies, and 98% expressed high satisfaction with the program. Conclusion: The educational intervention effectively improved the knowledge, preparedness, and emergency response capability of patient families. This program is recommended to be implemented as a routine ED activity supported by standardized operating procedures, digital learning media, and facilitator training for ED nurses. These findings highlight that empowering patient families can contribute significantly to patient safety and srengthening hospital emergency system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of individual, organizational, and technological system factors on the perception of legal protection for nursing staff in the use of electronic nursing care documentation. This research method used a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional design and a correlational approach. The results showed that partially, individual factors (t=2.260; p=0.026), organizational factors (t=2.327; p=0.022), and technological systems (t=2.422; p=0.018) significantly influenced perceptions of legal protection. Simultaneously, these three factors contributed 40.9% to the perception of legal protection for nursing staff. This indicates that the safety of the nursing profession is highly dependent on the synergy between individual competence, organizational support, and the reliability of technological systems. In conclusion, improvements to hospital management information systems (SIMRS), strengthening standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ongoing training are needed to ensure patient safety and legal protection for nursing staff in the digital era.   Keywords: Electronic Documentation, Individual Factors, Organization, Legal Protection, Technological Systems
