Abstract

This research aims to analyze teaching modules that have been developed by history teachers in terms of the Merdeka Curriculum policy by paying attention to aspects of the completeness and systematics of teaching modules, and aspects of the content of teaching modules. The method used in this research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection technique only uses documentation techniques in the form of teaching modules for history teachers at SMAN 1 Padang and SMAN 1 Ranah Pasisia. The data analysis technique uses techniques developed by Habermas, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification or conclusion. The research results show that the teaching modules from both schools meet the Ministry of Education and Culture's curriculum standards and are by Ministry of Education and Culture Decree No. 008/H/KR/2022. Teachers at both schools succeeded in integrating historical thinking skills, historical awareness, and historical research into learning. However, there are differences in the development of practical historical skills, the local material included, and the development of summative assessments. This analysis shows variations in the approach, completeness, and presentation of material in history teaching modules in the two schools. Evaluation of teaching module components, skills development, the material contained, and formative and summative assessments are needed to improve the quality of history learning in both schools. The implications of this research show that there are variations in the approach, completeness, and presentation of materials in the history teaching modules in both schools.

Abstract

In the context of family law, the nasab of children outside of marriage has grown to be a complicated legal and social issue in many nations, including Indonesia. With a particular emphasis on the ruling of the Pengadilan Agama Talu Number 173/Pdt.P/2021/PA.Talu, this article examines the question of the nasab of children born outside of marriage within the context of a Religious Court ruling. In order to determine the nasab of children born outside of marriage, this article employs both national legal requirements and the principles of Islamic law. We also examine the Talu Religious Court's ruling, which is the major point of interest. The analysis covers the legal factors, justifications, and ratio decidendi that the Religious Court used to reach its decision. It is critical to comprehend how the Religious Court developed legal principles, interpreted legal authorities, and considered the decision's social ramifications. The piece also looks at how the Talu Religious Court's ruling may affect family courts and society at large. The paper concludes by summarizing the consequences of the Talu Religious Court's ruling regarding the determination of the nasab of unmarried children and illustrating how legal perspectives have evolved in this area. This article may offer legal professionals, academics, and the general public new perspectives on the problem of the nasab of children born outside of marriage and the function of Religious Courts in governing and adjudicating such matters. In order to safeguard children's rights and preserve a harmony between religious norms and legal requirements in the country, more research in this field is required to determine the long-term effects of such rulings.

Abstract

Historical awareness is one of the historical thinking skills that students must have. Historical awareness is related to the identity of a nation related to the past. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of interactive E-Poster media in increasing students' historical awareness. This research uses the Pretest-Posttest Control Group experimental method, consisting of an experimental and control group. The sample consisted of 50 class XII high school students selected using a random sampling technique. The data instruments used are the results of pretests and posttests carried out by students. This research indicates a significant difference in students' historical awareness before and after using the E-Poster learning media. The T-test results show a significance value of 0.000, less than 0.005, with the conclusion that the use of interactive e-posters has an influence on students' historical awareness. This increase can be seen in the N-Gain test results, which show a score of 0.75 or 75 percent, assuming an increase in students' historical awareness using e-poster media by 75 percent. This research concludes that using e-poster learning media is effective in history learning, especially in increasing students' historical awareness

Abstract

The shortcomings in the history of education, constrained by conventional teaching approaches, inadequate utilization of historical sites, and logistical hurdles, diminish student engagement and comprehension. This study aims to develop a virtual reality (VR) learning medium around Bung Hatta's birth house, aiming to enhance students' historical understanding through captivating and immersive experiences. We adapted the Borg and Gall development model into four phases: preliminary study, strategic planning, development, and validation. We utilized 360-degree pictures in conjunction with extensive historical data regarding Bung Hatta's birthplace, integrating these elements into an immersive virtual reality environment. We used expert validation to guarantee material accuracy, subsequently doing practical testing with history educators and students to evaluate usability and overall effectiveness. The findings revealed a practicality score of 87%, highlighting the substantial influence of VR media on enhancing student motivation and understanding of historical material. This technology facilitates the virtual investigation of significant historical locations, effectively surmounting geographical and financial barriers and enhancing accessibility, engagement, and the relevance of history for learners. This method enhances critical thinking and deepens appreciation of national heritage while offering a strong framework for incorporating VR into educational curricula. Further research must examine the long-term impacts of VR on various learning outcomes and its relevance across the educational curriculum. Moreover, integrating VR technology in diverse historical disciplines may augment its effectiveness and applicability in education. Virtual reality techniques improve students' understanding of history while strengthening 21st-century skills such as critical thinking and creativity

Abstract

The acquisition of historical thinking skills is crucial for students, particularly in the areas of interpreting, documenting, and communicating information from diverse historical sources. These competencies are essential in educational media that supports learning. As such, this project aims to develop a virtual reality (VR) platform that will augment students' critical thinking abilities by presenting a range of historical sources. The research and development (R&D) process followed four key steps: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The study involved six teams of professional validators, two history professors, and 150 class XI students who comprised the subject sample. These stakeholders evaluated the viability of the product and the effectiveness of the media being developed. Data was gathered through teacher interviews, expert validation, and descriptive exams. Descriptive analysis was employed to assess the validity and practicality of the media, while the t-test and N-Gain were used to measure its effectiveness. Expert validation yielded an average score of 4.28, indicating good quality. The average score from practical testing by teachers and students was 4.40, demonstrating that VR media can be effectively utilized in history education. Notably, students exhibited a 69% N-Gain score, signifying increased proficiency in using VR material. These findings underscore the potential of VR media as a feasible, reliable, practical, and successful tool for enhancing practical historical skills in history education.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of environmental history as a historiographical response to the global ecological crisis and the limitations of anthropocentric approaches in conventional history writing. It seeks to understand how the global development of environmental history has influenced the direction, methodology, and character of its adaptation in Indonesia. Using a qualitative and reflective literature-based method with a comparative historiographical approach, this article analyzes key global works, primarily from the United States and Europe. It compares them with Indonesian scholarship to trace the trajectory of this emerging field. The findings reveal that while Indonesia possesses a rich ecological past, environmental historiography remains underdeveloped due to the limited availability of ecological primary sources, the dominance of socio-economic paradigms, and the absence of specialized academic platforms. Nevertheless, works by scholars such as Peter Boomgaard demonstrate that environmental history provides a critical lens for reinterpreting the interaction between power, society, and nature within colonial and postcolonial contexts. The study concludes that environmental history can serve as both a theoretical and methodological alternative to mainstream Indonesian historiography. It promotes a green historiography that integrates ecological perspectives into national history, enriches historiographical debates, and contributes to sustainability through eco-pedagogy and interdisciplinary collaboration.
