Wrong perceptions regarding exclusive breastfeeding can influence exclusive breastfeeding. An example is insufficient breast milk production. This reason is the main reason mothers do not breastfeed exclusively. Abstract

Nausea and vomiting are often early signs of pregnancy for the general public, especially due to long menstrual cycles. Therefore, some pregnant women only realize their pregnancy after experiencing these symptoms. Nausea and vomiting are common conditions in pregnancy, but if they occur more than ten times a day, this condition is categorized as hyperemesis gravidarum or chronic nausea and vomiting (Manuaba, 2010). Hyperemesis gravidarum can cause carbohydrate reserves in the body to be used up as energy, so that the body begins to use fat and protein reserves. As a result of imperfect fat burning, ketone bodies are formed in the blood, which can worsen clinical symptoms (Manuaba, 2010). This study used an observational analytical method with a cross-sectional design, where observation and measurement of dependent and independent variables were carried out simultaneously (Sastroasmoro, 2014). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and attitudes regarding hyperemesis gravidarum with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum at PMB Dina Sari Marpaung, Semula Jadi Village, Tanjung Balai City. Based on the description, the researcher is interested in examining the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women in the first trimester regarding hyperemesis gravidarum at PMB Dina Sari Marpaung, Semula Jadi Village, Tanjung Balai City.

Abstract

Unhealthy lifestyle, stress, health problems, physical activity, hormonal imbalance, and nutritional status are all factors that contribute to irregular menstruation. Stress is a common cause of menstrual cycle disorders. It induces the pituitary gland to release ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic Hormone), which increases cortisol levels, disrupting the menstrual cycle. This study aims to investigate the relationship between stress levels and the occurrence of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) among adolescent girls at SMA Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru, Kutalimbaru District, in 2023. The research uses a cross-sectional design with an analytic survey approach. A sample of 45 adolescent girls was selected, consisting of two groups: case and control. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis techniques. The results show that the majority of adolescents experience moderate stress (51.1%) and mild menstrual pain (48.9%). The analysis reveals a significant relationship between stress levels and the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, with a Spearman Rank correlation coefficient of 0.656 and a p-value of 0.000. This study highlights the importance of stress management in reducing menstrual pain among adolescent girls.
