Abstract

Pregnancy is the result of the “dating” of sperm and egg. In the process, the sperm's journey to meet the egg (ovum) is really full of struggle. Of the approximately 20-40 million sperm released, only a few succeed in reaching the egg. Pregnancy care is important to ensure that the natural process of pregnancy runs normally and remains so at every antenatal visit after the first antenatal visit until delivery. Pregnancy visits were carried out as many as 6 KN. The aim was to examine the factors that influence the incompleteness of antenatal care visits at the Beutong Community Health Center, Beutong District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province in 2022. This research uses analytical observational research methods with the research design used by Cross Sectional. The sample in the research was 38 people using accidental sampling. There is a relationship between family income and antenatal care visits, this can be seen from the p value = 0.049 < 0.05 with a prevalence ratio of 0.214 (95% CI = 0.471 – 0.967). There is no relationship between parity and maternal knowledge about antenatal visits. This can be seen from the p value = 0.094> 0.05 with a prevalence ratio of 1.222 (95% CI = 0.066 – 0.743). There is a relationship between work and incomplete antenatal care visits. This can be seen from the p value = 0.001 < 0.05 with a prevalence ratio 0.77 (95% CI = 0.20 – 0.291). There is a relationship between education and incomplete antenatal visits, this can be seen from the p value = 0.049 < 0.05 with a prevalence ratio of 0.214 (95% CI = 0.471 – 0.967) Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge and income, employment and education and the incompleteness of antenatal care visits at Beutong Community Health Center, Beutong District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province in 2022. Abstract

Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood which requires higher levels of nutrients, including iron. Teenage girls are more susceptible to anemia because they are already menstruating (Sediaoetama, 2018). Lack of iron in adolescents without adequate iron intake will continue during pregnancy, causing suboptimal fetal growth, low birth weight, risk of bleeding during delivery and increasing the risk of maternal and infant mortality. That's why most Obstetricians and Nutrition experts recommend iron supplements from pre-conception (adolescence). The aim is to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of teenagers in consuming iron tablets at Tunas Bangsa Kwala Begumit Private High School, Binjai District, Langkat Regency in 2022. This type of research is analytical research with a cross sectional design, namely the researcher takes samples from a population using a questionnaire as a data collection tool to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of teenagers in consuming iron tablets at Tunas Bangsa Kwala Begumit Private High School, Binjai District, Langkat Regency. 2022 (Hermanto, 2015). Conclusion: From a total of 39 young female respondents, the results showed that the majority of respondents had poor knowledge, 18 respondents (46.2%) and the minority of respondents with good knowledge, 10 people with (25.6%). Of the 39 respondents, the majority of respondents did not consume iron tablets, 29 people (74.4%). From the statistical test results, it was found that p value = 0.000 (p <0.05). This means that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes of teenagers in consuming iron tablets.

Abstract

The Family Planning Program (KB) is one of the government's efforts to control population growth and to build quality families. Long-term contraceptive methods, including intrauterine devices (IUDs), are part of the government program, but their usage remains low. One of the reasons is the lack of support and knowledge from husbands. Husband’s support is a crucial form of motivation for wives in using contraceptives. The more knowledge and information the husband has, the more support he can provide to his wife in using IUD contraception. This study aims to determine the relationship between husband’s support and knowledge with the low usage of IUD contraception at PMB Linda Elisabet in Kemiri Muka Subdistrict, Depok City, West Java, in 2024. This research is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study is the husbands of women who use contraceptives, and the sample consists of 10 individuals selected through non-probability sampling or total sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test (α=0.05). The results show that the majority of wives do not use IUDs (76.5%), while only 23.5% do. The statistical chi-square test showed a significant relationship between husband’s support and knowledge with the low usage of IUD contraception at PMB Linda Elisabet in Kemiri Muka Subdistrict, Depok City, West Java, with a p-value of 0.003 (P<0.05). In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between husband’s support and knowledge and the low usage of IUD contraception at PMB Linda Elisabet in Kemiri Muka Subdistrict, Depok City, West Java, in 2024. The more knowledgeable the husband, the greater his support for his wife in using IUD contraception. Health workers should regularly provide counseling on the importance of IUD contraception, and husbands are expected to increase their knowledge. With greater knowledge of IUD contraception, husbands can provide more support to motivate their wives to use it.

Abstract

Labor pain during the first stage of active phase is visceral, arising from uterine contractions and cervical dilation, processed through sympathetic efferent nerve fibers. One therapy that can be used to reduce this pain is the administration of red ginger extract, which is known to have the highest oleoresin content compared to other types of ginger. This study aims to assess the factors influencing the knowledge of third-trimester pregnant women about the benefits of red ginger drink as a pain reliever during the first stage of active labor at the RSUD Daerah Perdagangan. The study used an analytic cross-sectional design involving 66 respondents who met specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that education, age, received information, and culture influenced pregnant women’s knowledge about the benefits of red ginger. Based on statistical tests, it was found that education, age, information, and culture have a significant impact on the level of knowledge among pregnant women. This study is expected to contribute to increasing pregnant women’s knowledge of alternative pain relief methods using red ginger and to enrich awareness of the importance of health information during pregnancy.

Abstract

Unhealthy lifestyle, stress, health problems, physical activity, hormonal imbalance, and nutritional status are all factors that contribute to irregular menstruation. Stress is a common cause of menstrual cycle disorders. It induces the pituitary gland to release ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic Hormone), which increases cortisol levels, disrupting the menstrual cycle. This study aims to investigate the relationship between stress levels and the occurrence of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) among adolescent girls at SMA Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru, Kutalimbaru District, in 2023. The research uses a cross-sectional design with an analytic survey approach. A sample of 45 adolescent girls was selected, consisting of two groups: case and control. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis techniques. The results show that the majority of adolescents experience moderate stress (51.1%) and mild menstrual pain (48.9%). The analysis reveals a significant relationship between stress levels and the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, with a Spearman Rank correlation coefficient of 0.656 and a p-value of 0.000. This study highlights the importance of stress management in reducing menstrual pain among adolescent girls.
