Abstract

Stunting prevalence in Pekanbaru City 2021 is 11.4% to 16.8% in 2022. Nutritional problems in children will interfere with the process of child development, both mentally and physically, such as physiological disorders and body metabolism which can lead to death, reduce thinking ability, reduce human resources and work productivity and ultimately nutritional problems can lead to a decrease in the quality of the nation. The purpose of the study was to determine what is associated with nutritional status in toddlers in Pekanbaru City. This research design is cross sectional. The research time began in November 2021 at 5 Puskesmas Pekanbaru City. The study population amounted to 1200 people and sampling was 92 respondents using stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis used is univariate and bivariate. The results of the study with statistical tests showed a knowledge value of p value: 0.028, economic status p value 0.001, and parenting pattern p value 0.002. The recommendation of the results of this study is that respondents should have comprehensive knowledge about nutrition and provide better nutrition to toddlers so that the nutritional status of children on normal or good values.Keywords: Nutritional status, knowledge, economic status, parenting style

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia is a medical condition where there is an increase in blood glucose levels that exceed normal limits. Unhealthy diet and lack of physical activity are one of the causes of uncontrolled blood sugar levels. This study aims to determine the relationship of physical activity and diet to blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes mellitus in the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Selasih Regional General Hospital, Pelalawan Regency. Research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The total sample of 84 respondents was taken using accidental sampling technique. Data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate with chi square test. The results showed that the majority of low physical activity were 49 respondents (58.3%), poor diet were 59 respondents (70.2%) and uncontrolled blood sugar levels were 64 respondents (76.2%). There is a relationship between physical activity (0.030) and diet (0.011) on blood sugar levels of diabetes mellitus patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Selasih Regional General Hospital, Pelalawan Regency. It is recommended to respondents to be able to do physical activities such as and adjust their diet so that the respondent's blood sugar levels are controlled and prevent worse conditions due to complications.Keywords: Diabetes mellitus, blood sugar, physical activity, diet

Abstract

Breakfast contributes energy by 25% of the level of total daily energy needs. One third of the students of SMP IT Nurul Fajar Cikarawang Village have poor breakfast habits and quality. Adolescence is the most important phase in the formation of an individual's eating habits. A teenager's eating habits consist of knowledge related to breakfast, one's attitudes and practices towards breakfast. Knowledge-based practices will last a long time, therefore it is important for adolescents to obtain nutrition education from various sources, one of which is school. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of nutrition education interventions on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of adolescents regarding breakfast. The design of this study was a quasi experimental and purposive sampling method with a sample size of 57 7th and 8th grade students aged 12-15 years at SMP IT Nurul Fajar, Cikarawang Village. The healthy breakfast nutrition education intervention was given in 2 sessions with a duration of 50 minutes for each session. The media used in this research include leaflets, posters, videos, and materials in the form of power points. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the knowledge and attitude scores of adolescents regarding healthy breakfast (p≤0.05), while the practice of breakfast in adolescents experienced an insignificant increase (p0.05). Nutrition education interventions have an impact on increasing adolescent knowledge and attitudes regarding healthy breakfast, but the impact is not seen on adolescent breakfast practices. This is because the duration and frequency of nutrition education are too short, so nutrition education interventions are needed with a longer frequency and duration.

Abstract

Obesitas dapat terjadi pada siapa saja, termasuk anak-anak dan remaja. Kejadian kegemukan dan obesitas pada remaja merupakan masalah yang sangat serius. Jika tidak ditangani akan berlanjut hingga dewasa. Obesitas banyak dikaitkan dengan kejadian penyakit tidak menular seperti penyakit Diabetes tipe 2, penyakit kardiovaskular, hipertensi, hiperlipidemia, dan beberapa jenis kanker. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada hari Selasa, 22 Agustus 2023 pada pukul 13.00 – 15.00 WIB berlokasi di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Jakarta. Peserta kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Jakarta sebanyak 54 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah dan diskusi menggunakan media buku saku CERITA (Cegah Remaja Obesitas). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja terkait pola makan yang benar dan sehat serta aktivitas fisik untuk mencegah kegemukan dan obesitas disertai dengan praktek aktivitas fisik dan perhitungan indeks massa tubuh (IMT). Hasil data pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan terkait upaya pencegahan obesitas pada remaja pada peserta edukasi. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari peningkatan nilai sebesar 39,6 poin jika dilihat dari rata-rata nilai pre-test dan post-test. Sementara itu, persentase jumlah orang yang mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan setelah dilakukan edukasi adalah 100%. Obesity can occur to anyone, including children and adolescents. The incidence of overweight and obesity in adolescents is a serious problem. If it is not treated, it will continue into adulthood. Obesity is associated with non-communicable diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and several types of cancer. Community service activities held on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 at 13.00 – 15.00 WIB, located at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Jakarta. All 50 students of class XI of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Jakarta participated. The method used was lecturing and discussion using the pocketbook CERITA (Cegah Remaja Obesitas). Community service activities aim to increase teenagers' knowledge of healthy eating patterns and physical activity to prevent obesity, accompanied by the practice of physical activity and calculating body mass index (BMI). The results of the pre-test and post-test data showed an increase in knowledge regarding efforts to prevent obesity in adolescents among participants. This is shown by an increase in scores of 39.6 points when viewed from the average pre-test and post-test scores. Meanwhile, the percentage of people who experienced an increase in knowledge after education was 100%.

Abstract

One of the signs of puberty experienced by young women is menstruation, some young women experience pain known as dysmenorrhea during menstruation. Iron is one of the essential nutrients for adolescent reproduction, and its deficiency can increase the risk of dysmenorrhea. Stress can also affect Dysmenorrhea, as stress can lead to hormonal imbalances and the secretion of prostaglandin hormones produced by stress. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between iron intake and stress levels with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls at PB Soedirman Islamic High School Bekasi. This study uses an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design, and data collection using consecutive sampling techniques with 100 respondents. Data were collected through semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaires (SQ-FFQ) and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and determining the incidence of dysmenorrhea using dysmenorrhea questionnaires. The results measured by Chi-square test, showed p-values for iron intake (0.010) and stress levels (0.002). This study found a significant correlation between stress levels and iron intake in adolescent girls in PB Soedirman Islamic High School Bekasi.

Abstract

Middle childhood and early adolescence are important periods in the growth and development period that will affect height and health in adolescence and adulthood. The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency has been conducted by the National Diet and National Surveys (NDNS) around 7.5% of children aged 1.5-3 years are deficient. Data from 2015 showed that 44% of Indonesian children were insufficient and 50.3% inadequate. One factor that can cause growth disorders in children is lack of vitamin D intake. Low vitamin D consumption is associated with slower linear growth. Thus, this study aims to see the effect of vitamin D supplementation on children's body composition. This research method is a literature study that aims to collect data or research objects that are literature in nature to solve an in-depth problem regarding relevant library materials. There are six articles reviewed using experimental research methods and randomized controlled trial designs. The results of six studies showed no effect of vitamin D supplement consumption on children's body composition such as body weight, fat mass, fat-free mass, body mass index (BMI), BMI/A, Height/A with details of three articles stating no significant effect on body weight (BB), two articles on Height/A, two articles on BMI/A, two articles on body fat percentage, fat mass, fat-free mass, and one article on BMI. The conclusion was there no significant effect of vitamin D supplementation on children's body composition.Masa anak-anak pertengahan dan masa remaja awal merupakan masa penting dalam periode tumbuh kembang yang akan memengaruhi tinggi badan dan kesehatan di masa remaja dan dewasa. Prevelensi defisiensi vitamin D telah dilakukan oleh National Diet and National Surveys (NDNS) sekitar 7,5% anak usia 1,5-3 tahun mengalami defisiensi. Data tahun 2015 memperlihatkan bahwa anak Indonesia 44% insufficient dan 50,3% indaquate. Salah satu faktor yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan pertumbuhan pada anak adalah kurang asupan vitamin D. Konsumsi vitamin D yang rendah berhubungan dengan pertumbuhan linier yang lebih lambat. Sehingga, penelitian ini bertujuan melihatkan efek suplementasi vitamin D terhadap komposisi tubuh anak. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan yang bertujuan mengumpulkan data atau obyek penelitian yang bersifat kepustakaan untuk memecahkan suatu masalah mendalam terhadap bahan pustaka yang relevan. Terdapat enam artikel yang dikaji dengan metode penelitian eksperimental dan desain randomized controlled trial. Hasil dari enam penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh konsumsi suplemen vitamin D terhadap komposisi tubuh anak seperti berat badan, massa lemak, massa bebas lemak, indeks massa tubuh (IMT), IMT/U, TB/U dengan rincian tiga artikel menyatakan tidak ada pengaruh signifikan terhadap berat badan (BB), dua artikel terhadap TB/U, dua artikel tehadap IMT/U, dua artikel terhadap persentase lemak tubuh, massa lemak, massa bebas lemak, dan satu artikel terhadap IMT. Kesimpulan tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan pemberian suplemen vitamin D dengan komposisi tubuh anak.

Abstract

Diabetes melitus tipe 2 adalah jenis yang paling banyak terjadi dan selalu meningkat setiap tahunnya. Penatalaksanaan secara non farmakologi dapat memperbaiki kualitas hidup dan mengurangi risiko komplikasi salah satunya dengan jus jambu biji merah. Pada 100 gram jambu biji merah terkandung 87 mg vitamin C, 80,38 mg flavonoid, dan 5,2 gram serat. Kandungan antioksidan tersebut dapat menangkal radikal bebas, anti-diabetes dan anti-inflamasi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian jus jambu biji merah terhadap kadar glukosa darah puasa pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Penelitian dilakukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kartasura dengan rancangan penelitian one group pretest postest design terhadap 15 sampel. Jenis glukosa darah yang diuji adalah glukosa darah puasa 10 jam dengan metode GOP-PAP. Intervensi diberikan jus jambu biji merah sebanyak 300 mL/hari selama 12 hari. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Rata-rata nilai glukosa darah puasa pretest 178,67 mg/dL dan postest 168 mg/dL. Hasil uji statistik terdapat pengaruh pemberian jus jambu biji merah terhadap kadar glukosa darah puasa dengan nilai P= 0,030 (<0,05). Disarankan untuk peneliti selanjutnya dapat mengendalikan faktor lain yang dapat meningkatkan  resiko diabates melitus.Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common type and always increases every year. In 100 grams of red guava contained 87 mg of vitamin C, 80.38 mg of flavonoids, and 5.2 grams of fiber. The content of these antioxidants can ward off free radicals, anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of giving red guava juice on fasting blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The study was conducted in the working area of the Kartasura Health Center with a research design of one group pretest postest design on 15 samples. The type of blood glucose tested was 10-hour fasting blood glucose by the GOP-PAP method. The intervention was given red guava juice as much as 300 mL/day for 12 days. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The average fasting blood glucose value of pretest 178.67 mg/dL and postest 168 mg/dL. The results of statistical tests showed the effect of giving red guava juice on fasting blood glucose levels with a value of P = 0.030 (<0.05). It is recommended that researchers can further control other factors that can increase the risk of diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Peningkatan performa atlet tidak hanya bergantung pada latihan fisik, tetapi juga pada kecukupan asupan gizi yang seimbang dan sesuai. Program ini merupakan bagian dari program pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan status gizi dan performa atlet sepak bola melalui asesmen, edukasi, intervensi, dan monitoring status gizi. Sasaran kegiatan adalah atlet dari klub sepak bola Pakuan City FC. Metode yang digunakan mencakup pre-tes dan post-tes pengetahuan gizi, pengukuran status gizi, pemberian intervensi berupa menu diet seimbang, dan pemantauan berkala. Rata-rata Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) atlet menunjukkan sedikit peningkatan dari 21.04 kg/m² (Sesi 1) menjadi 21.34 kg/m² (Sesi 2) dan 21.57 kg/m² (Sesi 3), persentase lemak tubuh juga mengalami kenaikan ringan dari 12.25% (Sesi 1) ke 12.36% (Sesi 2) dan 12.64% (Sesi 3), sementara lemak viseral berfluktuasi dari 5.93 (Sesi 1) menjadi 5.79 (Sesi 2) lalu kembali ke 5.93 (Sesi 3), dengan semua parameter ini secara konsisten tetap berada dalam kategori normal selama tiga sesi evaluasi pendampingan gizi. Peningkatan performa fisik juga dapat dilihat dari hasil distance per minute yang mengalami kenaikan dari sesi 1 hingga sesi 3, yaitu dari 98 menjadi 108 meter per menit. Hasil menunjukkan adanya perbaikan pada beberapa indikator status gizi dan peningkatan pengetahuan gizi atlet. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendampingan gizi secara komprehensif dapat meningkatkan performa atlet secara signifikan

Abstract

Correlation between physical activity and potassium intake with blood pressure in the elderlyBackground: Setabelan Health Center, Banjarsari District, Surakarta City, recorded 59% higher cases of hypertension than other health centers (average below 45%). The high cases of hypertension in the elderly are influenced by lifestyle and food consumption patterns. Objective: This study aims to determine the correlation between physical activity and potassium intake with blood pressure in the elderly in the Setabelan Health Center work area. Methods: Observational study with a cross-sectional approach on 85 older adults. This study used the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) questionnaire to measure physical activity and the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) questionnaire for potassium intake data. Data analysis using the Chi-Square test. Results: The majority of respondents had moderate physical activity (62%), experienced potassium deficiency (96%), abnormal systolic blood pressure (66%), and normal diastolic blood pressure (69%). Physical exercise correlated with systolic blood pressure (p=0.014) and diastolic blood pressure (p=0.024). Likewise, potassium consumption with systolic blood pressure (p=0.047) and diastolic (p=0.007) in the elderly. Conclusions: Physical activity and potassium intake are correlated with blood pressure in the elderly.
