Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to assess the quality of management services at the SGS PLN Bandung Badminton Club by utilizing the SERVQUAL model, which consists of five main aspects: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Using a quantitative method and a descriptive correlational design, the study objectively captures the athletes' perspectives while examining the relationships between those service dimensions. The research population includes all active athletes participating in the club's training activities, with a purposive sample of 23 respondents who have been involved in training for at least one year. The data collection instrument is a SERVQUAL questionnaire adapted for the sports context, based on the study by Cristobal Fransi and colleagues in 2010. The validity test results show that all questionnaire items are valid (r values ranging from 0.510 to 0.885 with p < 0.05) and highly reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.963). From the descriptive analysis, it can be seen that the overall quality of the club's services is quite satisfactory, with the best scores in the aspects of tangibles and empathy—which indicates that the physical facilities and attention to athletes are already quite good—while responsiveness received the lowest score, suggesting that the response to athletes' needs needs improvement. Ultimately, the club management has been running well, but responsiveness and assurance need to be strengthened to enhance athletes' satisfaction and trust.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between leg muscle power, arm muscle power, and anthropometry with the speed of the ball resulting from an open spike in athletes from the Sumedang Integrated Indonesian Volleyball Generation School. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample consisted of 21 athletes, with leg muscle power measured using the Vertical Jump Test, arm muscle power measured using an 8-second push-up test, and anthropometric data obtained through Karada Scan. The speed of the open spike ball was measured using a Speed Radar Gun. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, Pearson or Spearman correlations, and multiple regression with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that arm muscle power, height, weight, and body muscle mass were significantly related to ball speed, while several other variables such as leg power (Spearman), leg muscle mass, and BMI showed no significant relationship. Multiple regression analysis shows that the three independent variables simultaneously contribute 45.4% to ball speed. This finding confirms that spike performance is the result of an interaction between muscle strength and anthropometric characteristics. This study recommends a training program that focuses on strengthening the arm muscles, developing core strength, and managing body composition to improve spike speed in volleyball athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of lower body exercises using rubber bands on the kinematic parameters of kicking technique in female soccer players. The method used is a single-group quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest, involving 10 female soccer players from the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia who participated in a six-week training program. This design is useful for determining the effect of rubber bands on the lower leg muscles after treatment. Kinematic data were analyzed using Skillspector 1.3, while kicking speed was tested using a paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in several joint angles, particularly an increase in hip and ankle movement during the preparation and impact phases, as well as a more controlled and efficient follow-through pattern. Joint movements that changed angle a values indicated that treatment with rubber bands affected muscle reactions. An significant increase in kicking speed was also found, rising from 54.71 ± 6.86 km/h to 59.86 ± 8.63 km/h (p = 0.024), indicating increased strength and force transfer after training. These findings suggest that rubber band training effectively improves biomechanical efficiency and kicking speed, making it a recommended method for developing kicking skills and treating kicking injuries in female soccer players in Indonesia.

Abstract

Sports injuries not only affect physical condition, but also influence athletes’ mental development during the recovery process and return to training. This study aims to analyse the relationship between social support and athletes mental development after injury, as well as to examine differences in mental development based on the severity of the injury. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was used by distributing an online questionnaire to 51 athletes from various sports, including athletes undergoing rehabilitation at the Sport Therapist Injury Laboratory,Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The instruments used were the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and the Injury Psychological Readiness to Return to Sport (I-PRRS). Data analysis was performed using parametric statistical techniques. The result revealed a weak positive connection between social support and post-injury mental development (r = 0.235), which was not statistically significant (p > 0.05) and no significant differences across injury severity levels (F = 2.175; p > 0.05). These findings indicate that variations in injury severity and perceived social support do not significantly influence athletes’ psychological readiness to return to sport.Overall, the findings indicate that internal psychological factors have a greater influence on mental recovery after injury than external help or injury classification. The results of the study showed that social support had no significant relationship with the mental development of athletes after injury, and there were no differences in mental development based on the severity of the injury. These findings confirm that internal psychological contributions play a more important role in the mental recovery of athletes.

Abstract

Fatigue is a common component in soccer matches, and can lead to reduction of movement quality and enhanced injury risk, particularly in the jump heading technique that requires high levels of coordination and postural control. This study was conducted to examine the biomechanical parameters of landing in the jump heading techniques before and after fatigue on players of Indonesian Education University (UPI) Football Student Activity Unit. The design for the study was a non-experimental research design and quantitive in method. Ten male collegiate soccer players were the participants of this experiment who executed the jump heading right before, and immediately following, completion of a lower extremity fatigue protocol. The studied kinematic variables were jump height, knee flexion angle and trunk position at take-off, landing force (measured using high-speed video analysis [SkillSpector] and force plate). One Good: One Bad Approximately 1000-Fold Ahi Attenuation Deriving from Real Pauli Admixture Analysis was carried out using a paired statistical test (α = 0.05). Fatigue did not appear to influence jump height and landing force, with significant knee flexion angle in take-off and trunk postural control were increased and decreased respectively. These results suggest the presence of compensatory biomechanical mechanisms related to fatigue. It was determined that fatigue affected alterations of some kinematic variables associated with balance control and movement quality during the jump heading technique. As a result, conditioning should likewise focus on the control and endurance of posture, core stability and neuromuscular function to preserve movement quality but also limit injury under fatigue.
