Abstract

This recent study was conducted in the former residency of Madiun, East Java. The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of counseling media as tools for Buddhist counselors. The counseling media involved posters, short videos, and PowerPoint presentations. The population of the study consisted of Buddhist people living in the former residency of Madiun, and the sample was selected using a simple random sampling. The total respondents of the study were 50 Buddhist participants who met the criteria for the research. The data for this study were collected using pretests and posttests. The quasi-experimental design used in this study was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of these tests were then analyzed statistically using SPSS to determine the effectiveness of the counseling media. The analysis focused on comparing pretest and posttest scores to assess the improvement in participants' knowledge after receiving treatment through the counseling media. The results of the study showed that all three counseling media—posters, short videos, and PowerPoint presentations—are effective tools for counseling, as the posttest values were higher than the pretest values. Among the three media, the PowerPoint presentations achieved the highest average score, indicating their superior effectiveness in enhancing knowledge.

Abstract

Community service was held in Purworejo Village, Central Java. The purpose of this community service is empowering and increasing Buddhist resources through the digital library development program. Community service method used is ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) approach. The result of this community service is; 1) Buddhists can better understand about digital literacy, 2) gain basic digital skills, 3) temple administrators can utilize technology for religious activities, 4) community participation in digital mastery is formed. Besides that, it has also provided welfare to the people, digital literacy and internet access have opened the horizons of information needed by people to increase insight and broadcast religion throughout indonesia, especially in Purworejo Regency.

Abstract

Adanya perkembangan zaman membuat teknologi berkembang pesat, banyak anak-anak kecanduan gadget karena kurangnya pemahaman literasi media bagi orang tua. Dibuktikan dengan hasil pre-test dengan persentase 32,2% yang memahami literasi media serta bahaya gadget pada anak. Tujuan dari sosialisasi ini guna meningkatkan pengetahuan literasi media bagi orang tua khususnya yang mempunyai anak-anak. Metode yang digunakan yakni dengan membagikan angket pre-test dan post-test untuk mengetahui pemahaman serta pengetahuan sebelum diadakan sosialisasi dan setelah dilaksanakannya sosialisasi, tim juga menggunakan metode diskusi dalam mengevaluasi kegiatan sosialisasi apakah orang tua mampu mempraktekan materi yang disampaikan kepada anak-anak mereka. Hasil yang diperoleh orang tua mampu memahami materi sosialisasi literasi media yakni 84,67% orang tua sudah memahami apa itu literasi media, dan pentingnya literasi media. Orang tua mengetahui dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh gadget ketika anak sudah kecanduan terhadap gadget yang, serta orang tua mampu memberikan solusi lain ketika anak ingin bermain gadget, salah satunya dengan mengalihkan perhatian anak pada permainan tradisional yang sudah terlupakan seiring berkembangnya gadget.
