Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers in the Semarang Regency area so they can manage learning activities based on the independent curriculum in inclusive classes. The methods used in this community service activity are in-training and on-training, divided into three stages. The in-training activities were carried out at the Semarang Regency Office, and the on-training was carried out using the Zoom meeting mode and LMS. The targets in this activity are representatives of ECE teachers representing IGTKI, supervisors, and supervisors in each sub-district of Semarang Regency, with a total of 28 people. The results of this service are likely successful, as indicated by an increase in teachers' knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward implementing inclusive education based on the independent curriculum. Teachers can design play activities that can support children's growth and development according to their needs. Improving the implementation of inclusive classes based on the independent curriculum means that teachers can modify the curriculum and collaborate with various parties such as doctors, psychologists and therapists.

Abstract

Abstract

Problems concerning moral values among early childhood learners in school settings include dishonest acts such as deceiving friends, lying, taking belongings without permission, damaging peers’ toys and denying responsibility, as well as displaying domineering behavior toward others. Based on these issues, this study aims to examine the effect of strengthening moral values through the use of prophet story e-books among children aged 5–6 years. The study involved a population of 30 children, with the research sample consisting of children aged 5–6 years at TK Pertiwi 2 Dadi, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency, East Java. The research was conducted in May 2025. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and questionnaires. A quantitative approach was applied using an experimental method with a pre-experimental design, namely a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The findings revealed that strengthening moral values using prophet story e-books proved highly effective. This is evidenced by a significant increase in the mean score from 120.83 in the pretest to 141.60 in the posttest, indicating an improvement of 20.77 points or approximately 17.2%. It can therefore be concluded that the use of prophet story e-books has a significant impact on strengthening moral values in children aged 5–6 years.

Abstract

Special needs ECE children should be prepared with early literacy and numeracy skills to strengthen their competencies during the transitional phase to primary school. To help this transitional phase, teachers can provide a variety of diverse play activities. This study aims to explore and evaluate the pedagogical strategies employed by teachers in reinforcing special needs children's literacy and numeracy, as a support to their transition process from ECE to primary year. The research applied a qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The sample selection applied purposive sampling based on the criteria and objectives of this study. The sample consisted of inclusive classroom teachers from ten ECE institutions in five regions of Central Java, including Semarang City, Pekalongan City, Surakarta City, Wonosobo District, and Jepara District. The study concludes that ECE teachers still see several limitations in dealing with special needs children. Therefore, teachers should modify plans and play activities to strengthen literacy and numeracy skills for special needs children to help them embark on primary school. Teachers expect necessary support for their improvement through training and guidance in dealing with special needs children, especially in developing their literacy and numeracy.
