Abstract

The implementation of the integration of the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (IPAS) curriculum in elementary schools is one of the significant changes in the Indonesian education curriculum, which is expected to improve the quality of education and prepare students to face future challenges. However, the implementation of IPAS also faces a number of obstacles and challenges that need to be overcome. This research aims to identify the main obstacles faced by schools in implementing IPAS. The research will use a mixed methods approach combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The data we collect will be analyzed using statistical software and qualitative analysis techniques to identify key patterns and findings. The results of this research will provide valuable insights that can support efforts to improve basic education in Indonesia, and bridge the gap between learning policies and practices in elementary schools. In future research, it is hoped that it can sharpen the discussion of science and science learning in elementary schools which not only discusses the material but also approaches to learning.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of the shared learning model in learning about cultural diversity in Indonesia in elementary schools. The shared model integrates two overlapping scientific disciplines. In this research, integration in the subjects of fine arts and Pancasila education is used with overlapping concepts, namely regarding cultural diversity in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach to obtain descriptive data. Data was collected through classroom observations, documentation, and interviews. The research results show that students' perceptions of shared learning models are generally positive. Students feel learning is more interesting and relevant because it is directly related to their daily lives. Students also gain a deeper understanding of Indonesia's cultural diversity, students learn to respect other cultures, and improve their social skills and ability to work together in teams. The implementation of the shared model allows the integration of knowledge from two subjects, such as fine arts and Pancasila education. This learning encourages active student involvement through practical activities such as working on worksheets, making drawings, and class exhibitions. Students become more aware of cultural diversity in Indonesia and learn the values of tolerance and mutual respect. This research concludes that the shared learning model is effective in improving the quality of education and students' understanding of cultural diversity, and is worthy of widespread application to achieve holistic and inclusive learning goals.

Abstract

Augmented reality-based learning media was developed in helping to improve spatial ability and understanding of mathematical concepts in elementary schools. Before developing learning media, teachers have to analyze initial needs. The purpose of this research is to analyze the initial needs for developing augmented reality-based learning media in elementary schools, especially in prism. The initial needs analyzed include the conditions and description of mathematics learning that have been learned. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research, by using data collection techniques in the form of interviews with fifth grade teachers, direct observation in the class and questionnaires distributed to fifth grade students. The results of the research show that mathematics is still a difficult lesson for students. So far, teachers still use less representative learning media so that students have difficulty understanding the mathematical concept of geometric shapes. Students hope to be able to learn mathematics using technology-based media which can make them more interested in learning and understanding mathematical concepts. The conclusion from the initial needs analysis is augmented reality-based learning media is needed to improve fifth grade students' spatial ability and understanding of mathematical concepts in prism.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop validation instruments for Indonesian language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) teaching materials based on the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) that is contextual and relevant for students of the Indonesian Basic Knowledge Course (KPDI) in Mindanao, Southern Philippines. KPDI is an initiative of the Indonesian Consulate General in Davao City as a form of Indonesian education service, which would serve as a bridge to formal education at the Indonesian School of Davao (SID). This research used a step of research and development (R&D) approach with a 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate), which focuses on the develop step, specifically the development of instruments to test the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of teaching materials being developed. The instruments developed include validation questionnaires by experts in terms of material, language, media, and graphics; observation sheets; teacher and student response questionnaires; as well as reading comprehension tests, which are analyzed using the N-Gain test. It is hoped that the results of the instruments developed can become a reference in preparing BIPA teaching materials, which not only improve students' Indonesian language skills but also instill Indonesian national character values through the Pancasila Student Profile approach.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) examine more deeply the local practice of Fish smoking in Kenjeran, in the context of maintaining local wisdom and building a character of love for the homeland; (2) Link the local practice of Fish smoking in Kenjeran with the global practice of Fish smoking, based on an ethnoscience perspective, and the contribution of these practices to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs; and (3) Implement meaningful Elementary School Science learning, through ethnoscience-based learning. Fish smoking in Kenjeran as local wisdom, contains Science concepts that are relevant to the Elementary School curriculum, including changes in the state of matter, heat transfer, and food preservation. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively to identify Science concepts in the Fish smoking process in Kenjeran, from the perspective of ethnoscience, Science literacy, glocalization, and SDGs. The results of the study indicate that the local practice of smoking Fish in Kenjeran can be integrated as ethnoscience-based learning to improve the quality of Science learning to be more meaningful for Elementary School Teacher students and Elementary School students. In addition to aiming to maintain local wisdom, the local practice of smoking Fish can also be associated with the perspective of glocalization, Science literacy and can contribute to SDGs point 2 (zero hunger), point 8 (decent work and economic growth), point 12 (responsible consumption and production), and point 14 (life below water).
