Abstract

The research aims to know and analyze the impact of business risk and capital structure on the growth of sea transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020. Some of the problems encountered in this study, among others, namely, high business risk can reduce company growth, high capital structure can reduce company growth and also high debt to shipping companies can lead to difficulties in determining the composition of capital structure. Path analysis is used to test the hypothesis proposed in this study by using the Partial Least Square application. The total sample of 45 consisted of nine companies with a five-year observation period taken by purposive sampling technique. The results showed: business risk has no impact on firm growth, capital structure has no direct impact on company growth, business risk has a positive and significant direct impact on capital structure, and business risk does not directly impact company growth through capital structure mediation. The study concludes that business risk positively impacts capital structure, so the declining capital structure decreases business risk.

Abstract

Abstract

Fishery commodities are one of the commodities that have not been widely studied in terms of their distribution system. The cold chain system is important in the distribution system for fish products. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the cold chain system at the trader level at the Kalibaru Barat Fish Landing Place (TPI). Qualitative methods were used in this study, and qualitative data were collected through observation and interviews with fish traders and consumers in traditional markets. The results showed that the West Kalibaru Fish Auction Center is the largest source of fish feed in the Cilincing area. The distribution chain shows that the West Kalibaru Fish Auction Center plays an important role in distributing fish products directly to consumers and fish restaurants. Consumers are highly dependent on Kalibaru Barat Fish Auction Market for their daily food supply. At Kalibaru Barat Fish Auction Market, the cold chain system has not been properly implemented, and the traders at Kalibaru Barat Fish Auction Market have a damaged cold chain system. The importance of fish traders' knowledge and motivation regarding the use of ice to maintain fish quality and freshness, as well as the need to improve the quality of facilities and infrastructure at the fish auction site to increase productivity at the Kalibaru Market, is still very much needed so that traders do not sell on the side of the market or on the sidewalk using tarpaulin roofs.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of supply chain strategy on the performance of manufacturing companies, incorporating competitive advantage and market orientation as mediating variables. In the increasingly competitive global market, manufacturing companies face significant challenges in maintaining and improving their performance. One of the key factors influencing a company's success is an effective supply chain strategy. However, the interaction among supply chain strategy and other factors such as competitive advantage and market orientation in enhancing company performance remains underexplored. The research was conducted in the Province of DKI Jakarta, where data was collected from 323 employees of manufacturing companies through a questionnaire with 33 Likert-scale indicators (1-5). The data was analyzed using PLS-SEM software to test eight hypotheses. The results indicate that supply chain strategy has a positive and significant impact on company performance. Competitive advantage and market orientation are proven to be strong mediators, reinforcing the impact of supply chain strategy on company performance. These findings suggest that an effective supply chain strategy not only enhances operational efficiency but also strengthens the company's competitive position and responsiveness to the market. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of manufacturing company management focusing not only on supply chain efficiency but also on the development of market orientation and competitive advantage. This can provide strategic guidance for companies in enhancing their competitiveness and performance in an increasingly competitive market.
