Abstract

The existence of islamic education in pandemic times (case study on communities not having online learning facilities). the covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the world of education, including Islamic education. The limited facilities owned by students also affect the learning model. This study examines the factors that encourage and become essential reasons for the ongoing face-to-face learning process and the impacts of the pandemic. This research is field research with qualitative research methods. Participants in this study amounted to 12 people consisting of teachers, principals, guardians of students, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and open questionnaires. After a thorough interpretation, the collected data was analyzed by classifying, reducing, and then summing up. The study results found that three factors drove the continued existence of Islamic education in the first community because online learning policies were considered to cause problems for parents, schools, and teachers. Second, the public's understanding of COVID-19 is not very dangerous, so it is deemed to be regular. Some schools continue to carry out face-to-face learning adjusted to government policies. Third, there is support and agreement from the school, community leaders, and parents so that face-to-face learning can run as usual, even though the time is minimal.

Abstract

Introduction to The Problem : The Qur'an is a primary religious education that must be given in schools. Al-Qur'an learning methods are very diverse, one of which is the qira'ati method. Purpose : This study aimed to determine the implementation of the qiraati process in learning the Quran at MI Maarif Suren Gede Kretek. Design/methods/approach: This research is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. Researchers used 16 primary and secondary data sources consisting of 6 teachers of the qira'ati method, 4 teachers of the tilawati process, two school operator teachers, 2 students, 1 school principal, and one head of the qira'ati method institution: data collection techniques using interviews, observation and in-depth documentation. The analytical procedure uses the stages of reduction, presentation and conclusion. Findings : The results of this study were classified into two main findings, namely the learning process of the qira'ati method at MI Ma'arif Suren Gede Kertek by applying large visual aids, small visual aids and individual classical teaching in class. The second finding is related to inhibiting factors before using the qira'ati method, namely the lack of support from students' parents, the teacher needs to implement learning according to the rules, and there is no khotmil Qur'an. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors after the qira'ati method was introduced at MI Ma'arif Suren Gede Kertek were the teachers who needed more consistency in studying the Qur'an, were impatient, lacked sincerity and rarely prayed for their students. The supporting factors before using the qira'ati method were the tilawati method using variations of songs, there was a volume increase test or a volume increase test tested by the head of the institution, while the supporting factors after using the qira'ati method were the teacher's MMQ and the santri's MMQ (Majelis Mu 'alimil Qur'an), there is a volume increase test and evaluation, parents or guardians of MI Ma'arif Suren Gede Kertek students who are very enthusiastic, there is a grouping of students based on volumes not based on formal class or age at school. There are dawuh – dawuh from KH Dahlan Salim Zarkasy, there are teacher principles namely tiwasgas which means thorough, alert, firm and daktun which means not guiding in teaching the qira'ati method. Then there are qira'ati santri principles namely CBSA (Active Santri Learning Method) and LCTB ( Smooth, Fast, Precise and Correct). Research implications/limitations: Studies still have limitations on type of reseach dan analisys. Originality/value : This study needs to be further developed in depth by future researchers to enrich research results on the same topic.

Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this research is to reveal the potential interest tendency of Gen Z in choosing the theme of religious studies, when Gen Z has an open character but does not want to be bound by a religious system that is too strict based on student experience. Design/methods/approach – This type of research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The focus of this phenomenological research is the researcher's curiosity about students' experiences in behavior and the extent of their perceptions related to the selection of religious studies in successive time series that occur to respondents. Respondents in this study consisted of 40 students from different schools. The respondents were selected by purposive sampling. The data analysis used is based on Bogdan and Biklen's method.    Findings – The experience of students in participating in the study tends to lead to themes that are easy to enjoy such as the theme of fiqh and akhlaq. This diversity shows the openness and openness of this shows the potential for more moderation in religious views and attitudes. Research implications/limitations – Opening up knowledge is related to awareness of the importance of choosing religious studies, especially for the younger generation or known as Gen Z. Therefore, it is important to help teenagers to choose places for religious studies that do not lead to radicalism to the point of destroying proper understanding. Apart from that, the first step to start is through school. Schools should be more responsive and increase their sensitivity regarding student potential. Originality/value – This research still has limitations, especially in collecting the number of respondents. Hopefully future researchers can minimize this deficiency, and subsequent research can be more perfect. Apart from that, future researchers can also measure the extent of religious literacy in students so that the studies that can be given can be measured well.

Abstract

Purpose – Character cultivation and development is a major study in modern education today. Islamic character education has become one of the interesting topics in the discussion. This study examines data mapping and networking about Islamic character education in the Scopus journal database. Design/methods/approach – This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a total of 204 selected articles related to Islamic character education. All the published journals have a publication range of the last 13 years, from 2010 to 2023. The authors exported data through software and then processed and analyzed them by using VOSviewer software to find networking maps based on co-author, co-occurrence, and co-citation. Findings – The study results found three significant themes related to the object and results of Islamic character education research, publishers who publish journals, and theoretical citations used by researchers of Islamic character education article journals. Of the three results, the first point related to publication documents is dominated by countries with majority Muslim populations, namely Indonesia and Malaysia. Meanwhile, the second and third points are dominated by Western countries. Another important finding in this study was the keywords found have used many words, such as character education, Islamic education, religion, and Islamic religious education. Research implications/limitations – The results of this study still have limitations on the number of limited publications, subjectivity in analyzing efforts, and incomplete analysis programs. Originality/value – This research can be a reference for future research that is expected to be more comprehensive in designing the research design so as to produce more complete findings.

Abstract

Background: Instilling Islamic religious values to students is not only a process of transfer of knowledge but also a process of transfer of value. In this process, the one who plays an active role in carrying out learning activities is a teacher. For this reason, teachers are required to have good competence and ability in teaching so that they can carry out their roles optimally. In this regard, teacher competencies that are directly related to the learning process are pedagogical competence and professional competence. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine how much contribution the pedagogical and professional competence of ISMUBA teachers has in influencing the instillation of Islamic religious values in students of SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin Gunungkidul. Design/methods/approach: The type of research conducted by the author is field research with a quantitative approach method based on post-positivistic philosophy. The population of the study used were 95 students of class VIII of SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin Gunungkidul. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires, interviews, observations and documentation. While the data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis . Findings: The results of the study indicate that the hypothesis in this study is accepted, both partially (alone) and simultaneously (together). The results of the first test obtained a sig. value of 0.047 <0.05 and a t-count value of 2.011> t-table 1.989. This indicates that Ha1 is accepted; there is an influence of ISMUBA teacher pedagogical competence on the instillation of Islamic religious values in students of SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin Gunungkidul. The results of the second test obtained a sig. value of 0.033 <0.05 and a t-count value of 2.161> t-table 1.989. These results indicate that Ha2 is accepted; there is an influence of ISMUBA teacher professional competence on the instillation of Islamic religious values in students of SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin Gunungkidul. The results of the third test obtained a sig. value of 0.000 <0.05 and an F-count value of 12.937> F-table 3.09. These results indicate that Ha3 is accepted; there is an influence of the pedagogical and professional competence of ISMUBA teachers on the instillation of Islamic religious values in students of SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin Gunungkidul. The coefficient of determination R = 0.220 = 22%. These results indicate that the independent variables, namely pedagogical competence and professional competence of ISMUBA teachers, together influence the dependent variable, namely the instillation of Islamic religious values in students by 22%. Research implications/limitations: This study can generally provide an overview of teacher competence in pedagogical and professional aspects. More specifically, this study can be a simple reference in research on Ismuba in Muhammadiyah schools at the junior high school level. Originality/value: this study is the result obtained from field research and has a novel value in the context of competence for Ismuba teachers at the junior high school level.
