Abstract

This study aims to analyze the variation of building materials used as floor coverings in simple buildings. Through a quantitative approach, this study examined three types of floor covering materials that are often used: ceramic, vinyl, and cement. The sample was taken from five simple buildings in urban areas and five in rural areas. The variables assessed include cost, durability, comfort, and ease of installation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to compare the effectiveness of each material. The results showed that ceramics, although more expensive, offered better durability and aesthetics, while vinyl stood out for its comfort and ease of installation. Cement floor coverings, meanwhile, are an economical option but lack in durability and comfort. The study recommends the use of ceramics for high-traffic areas and vinyl for areas that require comfort at a lower cost. This finding is expected to provide guidance for builders and homeowners in choosing floor covering materials that suit their needs and economic conditions.

Abstract

Sexual violence against children is a serious problem that threatens the safety and well-being of the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the integrated justice system as an effort to prevent sexual violence against children in Indonesia. The integrated justice system integrates various institutions, including the police, prosecutor's office, courts, and child protection services, to ensure comprehensive protection for children as potential victims. This study uses a case study approach with a focus on policy implementation at the national and regional levels, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of collaboration between institutions in preventing sexual violence against children. The results show that although the integrated justice system has been well designed, there are still challenges in coordination between institutions, policy understanding at the local level, and limited resources that affect the effectiveness of prevention. The recommendations of this study include strengthening the capacity of related institutions, increasing coordination between institutions, and wider socialization about the importance of protecting children from sexual violence. Thus, it is hoped that the implementation of an integrated justice system can be an effective solution in preventing sexual violence against children in Indonesia.

Abstract

Flooding is a serious problem that often disrupts the lives of urban communities. Increased rainfall intensity, climate change, and rapid urban development have made existing drainage systems less effective at coping with flooding. To face this challenge, this study aims to examine community empowerment efforts in drainage management as a flood mitigation strategy. This research was conducted by combining participatory approaches and field research methods. Local communities, local governments, and stakeholders are involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating empowerment programs. This program includes skills training, education on the importance of drainage maintenance, as well as the formation of community groups active in drainage maintenance. The results showed that community empowerment in drainage management has had a positive impact in reducing flood risk. Community groups involved in this program actively maintain the cleanliness and drainage function in their neighborhoods. In addition, education about climate change and rain patterns also helps people to be better prepared for extreme conditions.

Abstract

This study examines the use of unwritten contracts in trade activities, with the aim of understanding the applicable practices and their implications for civil law in Indonesia. The research method used is qualitative with an approach to document study and in-depth interviews with business actors and legal practitioners. The results of the study show that unwritten contracts are often chosen because of the speed and flexibility factors in day-to-day business transactions, although this carries significant legal risks, including ambiguity in the enforcement of the rights and obligations of the parties. The study also explores how civil law provisions can be interpreted and applied in cases where unwritten contracts are the source of disputes. This study provides recommendations to increase legal awareness among business actors and proposes policy changes that can strengthen the legal framework for the use of written contracts in trade. The implications of this research are relevant for the development of more transparent and accountable trade laws and practices.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the differences and tangents related to the Object of Dispute (OOD) in the perspective of the State Administrative Court (PTUN) Procedural Law and the Civil Procedure Law. In judicial practice, the determination of OOD is crucial because it concerns absolute authority between two different judicial regimes. This research uses a normative juridical method with a legislative and conceptual approach, and is analysed qualitatively. The results of the study show that although the PTUN and the civil courts both handle legal disputes, the fundamental differences lie in the type of legal subject, the nature of the object of the dispute, and the underlying principles. On the other hand, there are potential tangents in the case of objects that are civil in nature but are issued by state administrative bodies or officials, which gives rise to jurisdictional overlaps. Therefore, it is necessary to affirm norms and harmonize the regulation of absolute authority to avoid legal dualism that is detrimental to justice seekers. This research makes a theoretical and practical contribution in strengthening the boundaries of the absolute competence of the judiciary in Indonesia
