Abstract

Based on the results of initial observations at PKMS PT. MNO, it was found that there was oil loss in the fibers during the CPO processing process, especially at the press station. Therefore, research was carried out which aimed to analyze the factors that influence the high level of oil loss in fiber fibers at the press station of PT. MNOs. This research was carried out at PT. MNO located in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. The research implementation period starts from 17 October 2022 to 25 January 2023. The data collection method in this research was carried out in 2 ways, namely interviews (direct observation) and literature study. The data was analyzed descriptively qualitatively by comparing the data found in the field with previous literature. The results of the analysis of oil loss at the press station in December 2022 showed that the average in week 1 (press 1) was 4.18, (press 3) 4.67, (press 4) 4.02. Week 2 (press 1) 4.41, (press 3) 4.36, (press 4) 3.97. Week 3 (press 1) 4.41, (press 3) 4.74, (press 4) 4.01 week 4 (press 1) 4.32, (press 3) 4.72, (press 4) 4 .17 which press number 3 in week 1, week 3 and week 4 does not meet company standards, namely 3.89%. From the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the appropriate treatment to prevent more severe oil loss is through routine maintenance of the press machine and the components that support the press station, repairs to the press machine by replacing worn tools, and The directive provides operators to always comply with applicable SOPs.

Abstract

Soap is one of the daily necessities that is often used, from household scale to industrial scale. Soap serves to kill germs so that the skin surface becomes clean. Therefore, soap usually contains Triclocarban which functions as an antibacterial agent. However, this substance can cause bacterial resistance to antibiotics if used for a long period of time. Therefore, it is necessary to substitute this chemical substance which is more natural such as red Rosella plant flower extract (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the addition of Rosella flower extract on the physicochemical quality of liquid soap. The research method is experimental laboratory. The formulations of red Rosella flower extract used were 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%. Soap was tested for physical characteristics, namely color and aroma, while testing chemical characteristics with a pH test. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitative. The results showed that the addition of Rosella flower extract proved effective in changing the physical characteristics of soap, namely odor and color. The higher the percentage of red Rosella flower extract formulation added, the more red-colored the soap and the more the soap has a distinctive Rosella flower aroma. The higher the percentage of red Rosella flower extract formulation added, the pH of the soap is closer to neutral. Soap with a pH that tends to neutral pH is better for the skin because it does not damage the lipid layer of the skin surface. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that red Rosella flower extract (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) is proven to effectively improve the physicochemical quality of liquid soap

Abstract

Karkas Ayam yang merupakan salah satu produk kelolaan perusahaan PT ABC yang terkenal dengan kualitasnya yang baik. Hal ini ditunjang dengan penerapan SOP di perusahaan yang dilakukan secara berkesinambungan. SOP sendiri adalah salah satu alat untuk mengendalikan kualitas produk karkas ayam yang baik. Akan tetapi, terkadang masih ditemukan karkas ayam yang belum memenuhi standar. Oleh sebab itu, perlu dilakukan analisis dalam hal pengendalian kualitas produk karkas ayam. Tujuan dari pengendalian kualitas pada karkas ayam adalah untuk mengetahui terjadinya kecacatan pada karkas ayam yang mungkin sudah terbuka atau cukup lama dalam kemasan (kadaluarsa) sehingga menjadikan karkas ayam berubah warna dan tidak layak untuk dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan analisisis data menggunakan diagram Ishikawa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di PT.ABC, yang terletak di Kabupaten Tanah Laut, Kalimantan Selatan. Waktu Pelaksanaan dimulai dari Oktober 2023 sampai Januari 2024. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang didapat yaitu masalah yang terjadi pada karkas ayam di perusahaan, terbagi menjadi beberapa kategori berdasarkan faktor–faktornya yaitu manusia, lingkungan, metode dan material. Dari berbagai masalah di atas maka pengendalian kualitas harus ditingkatkan dimulai dari kategori manusia yaitu meningkatkan kepedulian terhadap mutu produk dan ketelitian pada pengangkutan karkas ayam agar mengurangi terjadinya sobek pada kemasan yang dapat mengakibatkan kemasan terbuka. Penyimpanan frozen food di dalam Cold storage harus tetap dijaga dan dirapikan. Penerapan kualitas pada produk frozen dimulai dari lingkungannya yang terjaga dan pekerjanya yang teliti dalam menjaga suhu ruang dan kebersihan Cold storage.

Abstract

Penyimpanan frozen food di dalam Cold storage harus tetap dijaga dan dirapikan. Penerapan kualitas pada produk frozen dimulai dari lingkungannya yang terjaga dan pekerjanya yang teliti dalam menjaga suhu ruang dan kebersihan Cold storage.

Abstract

Unmanaged food waste generated by students and the high cost of agricultural production due to dependence on chemical fertilizers are two major problems faced by Pesantren An-Najah Cindai Alus Putra, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. This community service activity aimed to increase the awareness and knowledge of students at Pesantren An-Najah Cindai Alus Putra regarding the use of organic waste as part of a circular agriculture system. Socialization was carried out for 45 students using interactive lectures and educational media, such as PowerPoint presentations, leaflets, and infographics. The materials covered the concept of circular agriculture, the use of food waste as fermented feed for quails, and the utilization of quail feces as raw material for organic fertilizer. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests to assess changes in participants' understanding. The results showed a significant increase in understanding, with an average score improvement of more than 75% in each assessed aspect. These findings demonstrate that contextual and participatory socialization is effective as an initial step in developing an integrated waste management system within the pesantren environment. This activity serves as a vital foundation for the development of sustainable circular agriculture. Going forward, technical training and continuous mentoring are needed to enable pesantren to implement this concept independently and consistently over the long term.

Abstract

Tandan buah segar kelapa sawit seringkali ditumpuk di dalam truk saat pengangkutan dan kemudian ditumbuk kembali saat masuk ke stasiun penerimaan buah (Stasiun Loading Ramp). Proses penumpukan ini akan mempengaruhi hasil dari pengolahan TBS di dalam pabriknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penumpukan bahan baku Tandan Buah Segar (TBS) terhadap proses produksi pembuatan Crude Palm Oil (CPO) di PT JYA. Penumpukan TBS terjadi akibat keterlambatan proses produksi karena kerusakan mesin, tidak beroperasinya alat berat, atau jeda produksi pada hari libur, yang berpotensi menurunkan mutu CPO. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi langsung di lapangan dan analisis kualitas minyak sawit berdasarkan parameter Free Fatty Acid (FFA), kadar air, dan kotoran sesuai SNI 01–2901–2006. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penumpukan bahan baku TBS menyebabkan peningkatan kadar FFA di atas standar mutu, yang menandakan penurunan kualitas minyak akibat proses fermentasi dan oksidasi pada buah sawit yang tertunda pengolahannya. Oleh karena itu, perlu diterapkan manajemen bahan baku yang efisien serta pemeliharaan rutin alat produksi untuk mengurangi waktu penundaan proses.

Abstract

PKS PT. PQRS merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang pengolahan kelapa sawit. Produk yang dihasilkan adalah Crude Palm Oil (CPO). Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah menguraikan proses pengolahan (CPO) dan menganalisa kehilangan minyak (Oil Losses) pada janjang kosong (Empty Bunch) dari hasil Bunch Press. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan seperti observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan November 2023, dengan hasil analisa check sheet terdapat persentase kehilangan minyak yang melewati standar perusahaan. Pada hasil analisa control chart terdapat kehilangan minyak paling tinggi yaitu 0,54% yang melewati dari standar perusahaan (0,25%) tetapi berada dalam batas kendali. Adapun faktor yang mempengaruhi kehilangan minyak tinggi yaitu pada faktor manusia, TBS dan mesin.

Abstract

Background: The expansion of oil palm plantations in Indonesia drives deforestation and biodiversity loss, threatening pollinator communities. Agroforestry systems within oil palm landscapes may enhance floral resources, but their effectiveness is poorly understood. This study evaluates the potential of stingless bee (Heterotrigona itama) pollen analysis as a tool for monitoring floral diversity in different oil palm agroforestry systems. Methods: Pollen samples were collected from H. itama colonies in five distinct oil palm agroforestry systems (block-type, intercropping, row-type, fence-type, and palm oil-livestock) across South Kalimantan. Pollen types were identified microscopically, and diversity metrics (Shannon Index, Simpson Index, and Evenness) were calculated to assess foraging patterns and floral resource availability. Results: Analysis identified 30 plant species from 22 families. Agroforestry type significantly influenced pollen composition. Block-type systems exhibited the highest species richness (14 types), while fence-type systems showed the lowest (9 types) with heavy dominance by maize (Zea mays, 41.4%). Intercropping systems were dominated by Acacia mangium (51.2%). Row-type systems demonstrated the most balanced foraging (highest evenness). A moderate Sørensen similarity index (0.63) between pollen and field vegetation confirmed bees as effective samplers of landscape floral diversity. This research confirms that H. itama pollen analysis is an efficient bioindicator tool, revealing that agroforestry management directly shapes pollinator resource availability. Complex systems (e.g., block-type, row-type) support higher floral diversity, which is crucial for pollinator conservation and sustainable productivity in oil palm-dominated landscapes. This method provides a practical approach for guiding biodiversity-inclusive agricultural practices.

Abstract

Global agriculture faces challenges such as climate change, soil degradation, and increasing food demand, necessitating innovative solutions for sustainable crop production. Agricultural biotechnology offers advanced tools to enhance crop resilience, improve yield, and reduce environmental impacts. This study aims to explore recent innovations in agricultural biotechnology, focusing on their potential to support sustainable crop production under diverse environmental conditions. The research employs a systematic literature review method, analyzing recent studies on genetic engineering, genome editing (CRISPR-Cas9), biofortification, and biopesticides. The review covers both laboratory and field trials to evaluate the effectiveness of these biotechnologies in improving crop traits such as drought tolerance, pest resistance, and nutritional quality. Key aspects considered include technological efficiency, scalability, and ecological impacts. Results indicate that innovations like CRISPR-Cas9 have significantly enhanced crop resilience, with increased drought tolerance and pest resistance observed in crops like maize, wheat, and rice. Biofortification has improved the nutritional quality of staple crops, addressing micronutrient deficiencies. The integration of biopesticides has reduced the reliance on chemical pesticides, contributing to more sustainable farming practices. The study concludes that agricultural biotechnology innovations hold significant promise for achieving sustainable crop production. However, their successful implementation requires supportive policies, farmer education, and ongoing research to ensure safety, scalability, and environmental compatibility. The findings highlight the need for a holistic approach to integrate biotechnological advancements into mainstream agriculture for long-term sustainability.
