Abstract

Almost 90% of child mortality occured in developing country, over 40% of it was caused by diarhhea and acute respiratory tract infection, which can be prevented by exclussive breasfeeding. Data from the profile of districts/cities in Central Java Province year 2005 showed the average of infants at age of 0 to 6 month who were given exclussive brestfeeding was counted 27.49%. Previous pilot study conducted in Sukorejo Village, Tegalrejo Subdistrict, Magelang District in January 2011 revealed that of 5 breastfeeding mothers who exclussively breasfed their infants, there were 4 mothers who had husband’s support while only 1 mother who had not. This study was intended to identify relationship between husbands’s support and execution of exclussive breastfeeding in Sukorejo Village, Tegalrejo Subdistrict, Magelang District. Analitic survey method was applied in the study with cross sectional approach. Population of the study were breastfeeding mothers having infant of 7 to 12 months old. Total sampling technique was used leading in the amount of 35 respondents. Univariate and bivariate analysis were conducted, and chi square test was applied. The study result showed that table value of x2 =3.841 and count value of x2= 8,733 where it meant that x2 count value x2 table value. The result revealed there was a significant relationship between husbands’s support and execution of exclussive breastfeeding. It can be said in summary that there was a relationship between husbands’s support and execution of exclussive breastfeeding. Therefore it was suggested for health care providers specifically midwives to raise up support and counselling regarding exclussive breasfeeding in order to reinforce the execution of exclussive brestfeeding.

Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) is considered as main factor in increasing neonatal and infant morbidity as well as mortality rate, and it has a long term impact on life. Increasing knowledge and skills of health provider is one of strategy to decrease infant mortality rate which can be done by means of training on management of LBW baby and asphyxia. Previous pilot study showed that midwives did not conduct several points on management of non –asphyxia LBW baby. There was 47,7% midwives have had trained on management of LBW baby and asphyxia. This study was aimed to identify relationship between midwives working period, knowledge and motivation towards management of non-asphyxia LBW babies by midwives in Magelang District”s Public Health Centers in 2012. This was an explanatory survey research with cross-sectional approach. Structured quesionaire was used after being tested for its validity and reliability. Independent variables were working period, knowledge and motivation, while dependent variable was execution of non-asphyxia LBW management. There were 46 public health center midwives participated in the research. Stratified random sampling method was applied, sample was drawn from midwives who had been trained on management of LBW and asphyxia. Chi Square “s was applied as analysis method. Majority respondens had a high working period (27 respondens = 58.7%), mostly had a good knowledge (63%), while proportion of midwives who had good and poor motivation was counted the same (50%). There was no relationship between midwives working period, knowledge and motivation towards namagement of non-asphyxia LBW babies as shown by p value of 0.620 (working period), 0.411 (knowledge) and 0.551 (motivation). Multivariate analysis was not conducted because there was no relationship. There was no relationship between midwives working period, knowledge and motivation towards namagement of non-asphyxia LBW babies

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of zinc tablet to primer dismenore pain level. It is a quantitative research with quasi experiment method, and the research plan that was used is one group pretest and posttest. Sample taking technique in this research was saturated sampling. Zinc administration was done for four days before menstruation, using 30 mg/day dose. This research statistics showed using wilcoxon statistic test, p=s is 0.001. The conclusion is there is a significant influence of zinc tablet administration to primer dismenore pain level.

Abstract

This research is analytic survey with cross-sectional research design. The populations in this study were all normal postpartum mother from 2 to 7 days after birth, non probability sampling using accidental sampling technique with 31 mothers are involved. Data collection technique is using questionnaire and checklist of healing perineum laceration process. Statistical analyses of the data using uni variate, bi variate test. Logistic regretion test are used for multivariate analyze. The results showed that there are no factors that are influenced to healing perineum laceration process of postpartum mother by value for Maternal age (p value = 0.699), educational background ( p value = 0,797 ), Parity (p value =0,875 ), Nutrition status (p value = 0,474) and Hemoglobin level by p value = 0,303. Eventhough that are no relationships among age, educational background, parity, nutrition status and hemoglobin but mother should concern about age and parity status duringpregnancy to avoid the complication during delivery baby.
