Abstract

Persoalan tubuh dan jiwa perempuan dijadikan subjek inferior dan eksploitasi atas tubuhnya sendiri menjadi ruang yang paradoksal muncul dalam karya-karya puisi Indonesia sejak tahun 1960--2016. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah wacana otoritas tubuh, baik sakral maupun profan sebagai representasi citra ruang manusia; konsep ruang dan konstruksi tubuh dalam pertarungan kehidupan dalam puisi-puisi penyair di Bali. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka dengan teknik baca catat. Analisis data menggunakan metode analitik deskriptif dengan teknik hermeneutika dan interpretatif. Teori penelitian ini adalah poskolonial Sara Upstone dengan mempraktikkan ruang tubuh dan konstruksi keberadaan eksistensi manusia itu sendiri. Hasil dan pembahasan penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa otoritas tubuh mengalami ironi dengan peristiwa yang dialami manusia, yaitu tubuh sebagai jasmaniah, tubuh sebagai simbol agama, dan tubuh sebagai kekuatan perempuan dalam menghadapi pertarungan kehidupan. Konstruksi yang terjadi dalam tubuh pada akhirnya menjadi diri yang dibongkar/dibalikkan oleh penyair yang secara ontologis dikuliti sendiri. Tubuh dihancurkan dalam kebudayaan, kefaanaan, sedangkan jiwa sebagai Tuhan yang diidealkan dalam keutuhan. Dengan demikian, konstruksi dan ruang tubuh antara profan dan sakral adalah ruang paradoksal antara jasmani dan rohani yang didekonstruksi oleh penyairnya menjadi sebuah ironi semata.

Abstract

Geguritan Yadnya Ring Kuruksetra (GYRK) karya Dokter Ida Bagus Rai merupakan karya abad ke-20. Tulisan ini menerapkan teori naratif Tzvetan Todorov yang menekankan pragmatika khususnya isotopi. Gagasan sebuah cerita tersebar dalam teks dan muncul secara berulang-ulang. Pengulangan dimaksudkan untuk menekankan gagasan yang terdapat di dalam karya. Sebab makna karya sastra dapat diperkuat dengan menelisik redundansi kata yang kerap muncul dalam karya. Studi ini menggambarkan isotopi penyadaran dan isotopi perasaan. Penyadaran dalam GYRK diungkapkan melalui kritikan oleh tokoh tikus, sedangkan isotopi perasaan termanifestasikan dalam rasa sedih, senang, bahagia, dll. Dengan melihat tingkat kehadiran kata dalam isotopi makna GYRK adalah penyadaran perasaan dalam pelaksanaan upacara keagamaan.AbstractGeguritan Yadnya Ring Kuruksetra (GYRK) by Doctor Ida Bagus Rai is literary work of 20th century. This research applies the narrative theory of Tzetevan Todorov which focuses on pragmatic especially isotopy. The concept of story is propagated in the text and appears repeatedly. The repetition is tended to concern the concepts found in the text. The meaning of literary work can be certainned by analyzing redundancy of words which appears frequently in the text. Awareness in GYRK is expressed through critics that delivered by mouse. While isotopy of feelingis manifested by the feelings of sad, happy, comfortable, etc. Investigating the level of words appearing in the isotopy of GYRK meaning is awareness feeling in implementation of ritual ceremony.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah struktur naratif novel Pulang, menguraikan wujud gangguan mental sebagai akibat dari belenggu jiwa, serta mendeskripsikan strategi pengarang dalam memberikan solusi terhadap belenggu jiwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori naratologi dan teori psikologi sastra. Wacana belenggu jiwa dianalisis menggunakan konsep psikologi eksistensialisme berdasarkan penerapan skema aktan dan fungsional sebagai lintasan analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa belenggu jiwa menimbulkan gangguan mental, seperti kegelisahan, stres, trauma, dan depresi. Keempat gangguan psikologis tersebut menghambat proses realisasi diri dalam mewujudkan kehidupan sejati. Gangguan mental kronis yang tidak segera disembuhkan dapat membawa penderita pada kehampaan hidup dan alienasi (perasaan terasing) atau sebaliknya membuat penderita mendekatkan diri pada Tuhan atau transendensi. Untuk mengatasi gangguan mental tokoh-tokoh cerita, pengarang menawarkan dua solusi, yaitu erotisme dan kematian.  Abstract This research is aimed at analyzing the narrative structure of novel Pulang, identifying the form of psychology disorders as the effect of soul fetter, and finding out the writer’s strategies to overcome the psychology disorders. This research used narrative theory and psychology theory. The soul fetter discourse is analyzed by psychology existentialism concept based on the application of actant and functional scheme as the trajectory in exploring the discourse. The research result shows that fatter of soul causes psychology disorders, such as anxiety, stress, trauma, and depression. Those psychology disorders obstruct the process of self realization to get authentic life. Psychology disorders chronic which are not healed well causes meaningless of live and alienation, or on the contrary brings the sufferer to get closer to the God or transcendence. To overcome the psychology disorders of the fiction characters, the writer offers two solutions, both are eroticismand death.

Abstract

Abstrak Komunitas sastra merupakan salah satu ujung tombak bagi tumbuh dan berkembangnya kesusastraan di suatu wilayah, termasuk Bali. Di dalam komunitas sastra tersebut dilakukan berbagai aktivitas, seperti diskusi sastra (baik cerpen, novel, puisi, maupun drama), peluncuran buku sastra, pembacaan puisi, musikalisasi puisi, pertunjukan teater, dan berbagai lomba. Komunitas sastra berperan menjaga iklim yang sehat dan kondusif bagi terciptanya kreativitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan pentingnya kehadiran komunitas sastra yang marak bermunculan di berbagai daerah di Bali. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut digunakan metode deskriptif-analitik. Dalam pengumpulan data digunakan teknik kuesioner dan teknik wawancara. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, diperoleh sejumlah informasi mengenai berbagai aspek terkait komunitas sastra, seperti karakteristik pendukung komunitas sastra dan aktivitas yang mereka lakukan. Kata kunci: komunitas sastra, karakteristik, kreativitas Abstract The existence of a literary community marks the growth and development of Indonesian literature in a region, such as Bali. In the literary community, various activities are carried out, such as book discussions (novels, poetry, and drama), publishing literary books, poetry reading, poetry musicals, theater performances, as well as various competitions. The literary community plays a role in maintaining a healthy and conducive climate for the creation of creativity. This research aims to show the importance of the presence of a literary community that is rife in various regions of Bali. To achieve these objectives, descriptive-analytic methods were used with interview techniques and questionnaire. Based on this research, obtained a number of information about various aspects related to the literary community and the activities they did. Keywords: literary community, characteristic, creativity

Abstract

Abstrak Eksploitasi citra tubuh muncul berulang sebagai tema dalam puisi Indonesia dalam rentang waktu enam dekade, 1970—2016. Dalam penelitian ini dianalisis citra tubuh dalam puisi Indonesia dengan fokus pembahasa pada dua hal, yaitu wacana otoritas tubuh, baik sakral maupun profan sebagai representasi citra ruang manusia; konsep ruang dan konstruksi tubuh dalam pertarungan kehidupan dalam puisi-puisi penyair di Bali. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka dengan teknik baca catat. Analisis data menggunakan metode analitik deskriptif dengan teknik hermeneutika dan interpretatif. Teori penelitian ini adalah poskolonial Sara Upstone dengan mempraktikkan ruang tubuh dan konstruksi keberadaan eksistensi manusia itu sendiri. Kata kunci: puisi, ruang tubuh, konstruksi, profan sakral Abstract Exploitation of body image appeared repeatedly as theme in Indonesian poem in six decades, 1970—2016. In this research body image on Indonesian poems were analized focused on two points, the discourse of body authority, both sacred and profane as representation of human space image; the concept of space and body construction in the battle of life in poems in Bali. Method of this research is literary study by noting and reading technique. Data analysis method of this research is descriptive analytics by hermeneutic techniques and interpretative. This research used postcolonial of Sara Upstone theory by practicing the physical space and construction of body space and the existence of human itself. The results and discussion of this research prove that the authority of the body has irony with the events experienced by humans, namely the body as body, the body as religious simbol, and the body as a force of women in the face of the battle of life. The construction that takes place in the body eventually becomes a self dismantled by the poet who is ontologically skinned on his own. The body is destroyed in culture, inhumanity, while the soul as God is idealized in wholeness. Thus, the construction and the space between the profane and the sacred is the paradoxical space between the physical and the spiritual that the poet deconstructs to be a mere irony. Abstract

This paper discusses the issue of binary opposition, especially dealing with the opposite genres between fiction and non-fiction in literary works. Commonly fiction is assumed to concern only with imaginations, while non-fiction with realities or facts. This issue is applied to examine the poems of number 1-9 through the work, titled "Ada Berita Apa Hari Ini, Den Sastro?" The theory of hermeneutics, especially covering the concept of hermeneutic circles, is the main tool to analyze. Finally, the results prove that the continual contradiction between news and story is intentionally constructed by poets to gain ambiguity effects of the poem.Keywords: opposition, fiction, non-fiction

Abstract

Recently, the sociocultural problems of transgender have shown an increase. The novel, Calabai, vividly depicts various acts of violence perpetrated by Bugis tribesmen against transgender members of the community. They consider transgender as deviant or different. From a humanist perspective, this view forms a violation of the principles of human rights. Actually, this novel develops the idea of cultural identity. Through deconstructive analysis according to Derrida, this study exposes the ideology embedded within such a textual representation of transgender. It reaches two conclusions. First, a reversal of ideology takes place in the text; from oppression based on discrimination, to a power reversal. Second, being regarded as a human being and receiving respect from another human being become a form of recognition of personal and cultural identity.

Abstract

There are many recurring social conflicts in Bali that originate in customs and cultures such as caste conflict, exclusion (kasepekang), and issues surrounding black magic. These conflicts are often used as inspiration for Balinese writers to write literary works such as novels and short stories. From the setting story on Balinese social conflict, it can be seen how public perception of the conflict and also how the author’s style expresses social conflict through the art of literature. This article aims to find out the various social and cultural issues that inspire literary writers to write works of literature and how they deliver it so as to create works that educate and entertain. Two sets of short stories entitled Padi Dumadi (The Incarnation of Rice, 2007) by Adnyana Ole and Mandi Api (Bathed by Fire, 2008) by Aryantha Soethama, two of Bali’s leading authors. The approach used in this study is structural approach that examines the elements of the text. Analysis shows that there is a tendency of Balinese authors to raise cultural issues with a new style of expression using the element of surprise at the ending of the story.

Abstract

This paper examines acts of violence on women and children in Indonesian literatures. In fact, the issue of such a violence has recently been one of the Indonesian media’s hot topics. Therefore, this may indicatethe environmental condition showing the higher oppression suffered by women and children. In the perspective of the progress of technology, there isstill a break of human basic rights.For limiting the topicthe writer has isolated three writers to discuss. They are Djenar Maesa Ayu (Nayla, 2005), Dewi Sartika (Dadaisme, 2006) and Kadek Sonia Piscayanti (Karena Saya Ingin Berlari, 2007). Literary critics, such as Faruk, Manneke Budiman, and Sapardi Djoko Damono, (Jurnal Prosa, No.4/2004) thought that the birth ofwoman writer was the impact of industrialization.The amount of woman readers has been graduallyrising and women become the prime readers of literature in modern era. But, along with the rising of capability of readers, these women also tend to write any works about themselves. As women, they surely have  different point of view and sensibility from the men do, because those women see themselves and the surroundings due to violence experienced by themselves as well. Through the study of those three writers whose cultural backgrounds are different, this paper exposes theirown characteristic sights about the phenomenon of violence against women and children. The result of this research might hopefully open the consciousness of people to  better understandings of women and children.   Key words: violence, women, child, public, domestic
