Abstract

This research aims to describe the intensity of Indonesian as the teacher's language of instruction in developing the speaking skills of class VI students at SD Inpres Bontobila, describing the problems of using the teacher's language of instruction in communicating with students in the classroom. This type of research is qualitative. The research results revealed that the intensity of using Indonesian as the language of instruction in the learning process was limited to simple basic sentences regarding standard learning requirements, both in initial activities, core activities, and final learning activities. The problems of using the teacher's language of instruction in communicating with students in the classroom are classified into three problems: the use of standard Indonesian, which hinders learning; differences in the rules of regional languages and Indonesian, causing language interference; and the frequent use of regional languages in educational environments and learning situations.

Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and questionnaires, while data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The results of the study show that students face various problems, including limited internet access, difficulty understanding AKM Kelas questions and applications, low reading skills among students, minimal awareness among schools of the importance of libraries, a lack of appropriate reading materials, limited space for reading corners, limited technological equipment, and low support from schools. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the authentic factors of language learning difficulties in children with special needs (deaf) in Grade VIII of SMP SLB Negeri 1 Makassar and how these factors affect language learning difficulties in deaf children. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of observation and interviews. In addition, analysis techniques such as transcription, categorisation, theme analysis, and conclusion drawing were used. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the language learning difficulties of deaf students in class VIII of SLB Negeri 1 Makassar are caused by genetic factors, disorders or accidents that have an impact on limited access to hearing aids, a lack of awareness among parents about early education, and a very limited understanding of vocabulary.
