Abstract

Feudalism, which is a social or political system that gives great power to the nobility, in Indonesia, especially in Bali, still adheres to this system, where in literature and in traces of discourse it is stated that this system was already in effect at that time. However, apart from the Feudal system, Indonesia, especially Bali, has many existing traditions, such as the art of wayang kamasan painting and also Ma-gala-galaan or Gala-gala. The techniques used in the process of creating works of painting are the Dussel and Sigar techniques and how to visualize them on plywood media. The method used in the creation process is Hawkins, which consists of three stages, namely idea exploration, improvisation, and realization or forming. The result of this method is to search for ideas and how to visualize the concept of the Gelungan Wayang Kamasan character on plywood media. Improvise to find harmonious proportions and colors. The manifestation (forming) of all visual results found related to the title adopted is undergoing development. With the creation of this work, it is hoped that it will be useful for the community related to this state system and also about traditional painting and traditional games in Bali.

Abstract

ABSTRACT TThis final report describes the process of creating a painting with the theme “Lifestyle Distortion from a Theological Perspective”. This theme focuses on the deterioration of the human lifestyle that is getting worse and has a negative impact on individuals and the environment. The Bible, as the holy book of Christianity, is used as inspiration and a benchmark to compare today's lifestyle, which is often enjoyed by many people despite its destructive potential. Through this artwork, it is hoped that viewers can see a reflection of these lifestyle deviations, trigger self-reflection, and inspire them to live a better and more meaningful life. A total of six artworks were produced using various techniques and media, with the application of the elements and principles of fine art. Each work depicts the distortion of human lifestyles that are increasingly far from theological teachings. This visualization is designed to show the negative impact of lifestyle changes that are not in accordance with spiritual values, so that viewers can better understand the dangers posed. The aim of this work is to provide insight and inspiration for individuals to evaluate their chosen lifestyle and encourage change towards a more ethical life that is in line with theological principles.

Abstract

Communicating is a human activity in stating one thing with an agreed way of doing it between the one who sends it and the one who receives it, make that in language, signs, or symbols. Expression is an effort in expressing an idea, either in language, signs or symbols, without any agreement from the sender and the receiver. Communication and expression in painting has become something that just happens, since art was created when human knowledge knows how to write up to writing is no longer needed as pressing buttons would finish the job. In communicating through an artwork there is an effort so that the target understands the idea being stated, while expression is purely expressing an idea without others consent in understanding it. Hence this analysis aims to dissect the differences through several artworks that have existed in the visual arts: from cave to modern art. This analysis also aims to provide extended knowledge on analyzing works of art through the ages.

Abstract

This study explores Balinese culture through Dark Art to depict the grandeur and complexity of the community's spirituality. Dark Art, with its dark tones and profound symbolism, reflects the mystical power and sacredness of nature represented by mythological figures like Dewi Durga. In Balinese culture, Dewi Durga symbolizes the formidable forces of nature, revered through various rituals and arts. Her portrayal in a horror-themed style emphasizes not only the terrifying aspects but also the majesty and sacred mystery of nature. Dark Art elements such as horror nuances and Rangda masks enhance the symbolism of the niskala (spiritual) world, a vital aspect of Balinese life. The Rangda mask, often associated with negative forces, represents diseases or spiritual disturbances that are addressed through traditional rituals. The use of these elements illustrates how Balinese people maintain balance between physical and spiritual aspects. The study's artistic outcomes combine Dark Art aesthetics with Balinese traditions, creating a profound visual interpretation of the community's views on nature and spirituality. This approach highlights the significance of the niskala realm in Balinese culture, particularly in preserving harmony in life. The research contributes to understanding how Balinese art and culture utilize Dark Art symbolism to express their beliefs and spiritual practices.

Abstract

The purpose of the Final Project of Fine Arts Creation is a requirement for S1 graduation. This makes me want to metaphor the various types, shapes, and colors of roses as ideas for creating paintings in a naive style. Then perform various compositional processing, phenomena in life can be used as ideas in creating a work of painting, ideas or ideas cannot be separated from observations and interactions with surrounding conditions, as well as personal experiences. With the problem of how to express the technique, and the meaning of the various types and colors of roses into a painting. There are supporters in expressing techniques, and meanings, namely the theoretical basis as a reference for realizing paintings. So, my theoretical basis is to use aesthetic theory, semiotic theory to express the meaning of the rose metaphor, and naiveism to enrich the visuals of painting. The results of this creation are in the form of six works of art with the title: Breastfeeding Mother, Fighting Corona Virus, Self-Esteem, Rejecting Love, Relaxing, and Inhaling Taste. Through the writing that has been done, I can express the roses expressed in a naive style. Through this, a work can be created that will have a symbol or meaning.
