Mahasiswa sebagai ujung tombak pelaksana Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi tidak bisa lepas dari kegiatan kemasyarakatan. Salah satu dharma yang wajib untuk dijalankan adalah pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Pengabdian ini dalam bentuk pendampingan bimbingan belajar kepada anak-anak tingkat SD di lingkungan Desa Wonorejo Blandit Kecamatan Singosari Kabupaten Malang. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat Berbasis Potensi (PMBP) ini untuk mengembangkan dan memaksimalkan kegiatan literasi anak-anak di tingkat SD. Literasi tidak hanya mencakup kemampuan membaca dan menulis, tetapi juga kemampuan memahami, menganalisis, dan menggunakan informasi secara kritis. Tulisan ini mengkaji upaya optimalisasi kegiatan literasi di sebuah sekolah dasar di Desa Blandit Wonorejo, Kecamatan Singosar untuk mendukung inisiatif Merdeka Belajar.

Implementasi metode Fun Learning di SDN 1 Ngadirejo dan proses perekrutan mahasiswa baru di SMK TI Kromengan oleh mahasiswa Universitas Insan Budi Utomo Malang. Fun Learning adalah metode pembelajaran yang menekankan kesenangan, kreativitas, dan interaksi, dalam proses belajar mengajar. Tujuan utama dari implementasi ini adalah untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dengan menghadirkan elemen permainan, tantangan, dan aktivitas yang menyenangkan. Selain itu artikel ini membahasa kegiatan perekrutan mahasiswa baru di SMK TI Kromengan sebagai bagian dari pengabdian masyarakat oleh mahasiswa, yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan calon mahasiswa yang kompeten.

Di era digital saat ini, internet menjadi sumber informasi yang paling banyak digunakan dan dapat membantu menemukan informasi yang dibutuhkan. Internet dianggap sebagai sumber informasi karena mudah, cepat, tepat, dan akurat. Internet menjadi kebutuhan primer bagi manusia dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam kenyataannya, internet pun menampakkan dua sisi sebagai dampak penggunaannya, yaitu sisi baik dan sisi buruk. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan agar masyarakat di lingkungan desa Wandanpuro, Kec. Bululawang terhindar dari dampak buruk penggunaan internet. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah metode ceramah dan diskusi. Materi sosialisasi disampaikan melalui media selebaran/flyer dan dibagikan melalui aplikasi whatsapp grup. Para ibu rumah tangga sebagai sasaran kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diberikan sosialisasi pentingnya memanfaatkan kemajuan internet secara sehat dan bijak. Diharapkan setelah melaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi mengenai pentingnya internet sehat ini, semua anggota masyarakat membiasakan diri untuk menggunakan internet secara sehat, salah satunya dengan bijak bermedia sosial. Pada akhirnya, para orang tua diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengawasan mereka terhadap penggunaan internet pada anak

The difficulty found in writing is not only due to the need to generate and organize ideas using the appropriate choice of vocabulary, sentence, and paragraph organization. A descriptive text is one of the texts that can help students to improve their ideas into a text. The researcher used the qualitative method as the way to analyze the data in this research. It focused on analyzing the student’s skill of applying the generic structure of descriptive texts. The writer used the data from the students’ descriptive texts taken from the worksheet of Elementary school 1 Penambangan Probolinggo. The findings are as follows; they do not master the language features of descriptive text and lack vocabulary and got difficulties describing with effective word choice. They failed to show well-organized writing and did not use identification appropriately, the last they were still unable to transfer and develop their ideas into a written form well in composing a text and do not use the description process in writing appropriately. Finally, the researcher concluded that some students at Elementary school 1 Penambangan Probolinggo still need more practice to choose a topic that they are about to discuss and to arrange the descriptions with proper connectives.

In this classroom action research, the researcher used the model of classroom action research developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart (1999). There are four steps of teaching. Before doing those four steps, the researcher did reconnaissance step by observing the class situation and interviewing the class teacher and the students to know the problems. After knowing the problems, the researcher started to do the four steps of teaching they were planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The findings of this result showed that teaching reading comprehension using collaborative strategic reading improved the students` reading comprehension skill. In the first cycle the result was not satisfactory. The students were still passive in class because they did not understand about the method and many of them still found difficulty in understanding the texts. Their mean score of the first cycle was under the MMC. The criterion of success is when students give good response to this method, and also get the mean score that reach the MMC. After implementing the second cycle, the researcher found that the students were more enthusiastic because they knew about the topics of the texts and enjoyed comprehending the texts using CSR. They felt that the method was not boring. Besides that, the students` mean score was 72.85. The second cycle succeeded and proved that the students` mean score improved. It was above the MMC.

This study purpose to analyze the politeness strategies used by English Study Program. The student is seven semesters in study process. In completing this research, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method and the theory of Brown and Levinson. From this study, the researcher found four kinds of politeness strategies used by the English Study Program; those are bald on record, positive politeness, negative politeness and Off-record. The factors that influence the politeness strategy used by the main are the payoffs and social variables. Furthermore, sociological variables also affect the use of politeness strategies used by students, which are social distance, relative power and rank of imposition. The suggestion to the next researcher is able to investigate more about politeness in a broader context and combine it with other social aspects such as religion, ideology, or even culture.

Innovation in teaching listening is urgently needed. This study resulted the questionnaire survey of students’ needs of listening subject. These results were compared to the students’ mid-term results and Basic Listening learning outcomes. The survey was completed by 100 first-year English Education students. The analysis and comparison were objected to find out the answers of these questions: what barriers obstructed the progress of the students’ listening skill? And what were the students’ listening skills needs? The study found that there is an interstice between students’ needs and the learning got in relating to listening comprehension. Hence, this study expected that the its findings can help to grant preferable understanding of the students’ needs and developing the curriculum properly.

Dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris, kosakata adalah salah satu komponen penting yang harus dikuasai siswa. Akan tetapi banyak dari siswa yang malas untuk membuka kamus Ketika mereka menemui kesulitan dalam mencari arti pada kosakata Bahasa Inggris. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan kosakata mereka sangat minim. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata dengan menggunakan aplikasi anki di Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi Universitas Insan Budi Utomo. Aplikasi Anki adalah program flashcard digital yang dirancang untuk membantu pengguna mengingat informasi secara lebih efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 35 mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan ekonomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kuatitatif -deskriptif untuk menganalisa data. Hasilnya menunjukkan 14% pada pra siklus, pada siklus pertama menjadi 28% hanya terjadi peningkatan 14% dan pada sikus kedua terjadi peningkatan menjadi 83%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah aplikasi anki sebagai media pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan kosakata Bahasa Inggris mahasiswa pada program studi Ekonomi.

The purpose of this study is to develop riddle cards as a medium for English vocabulary instruction at MTs. Darul Karomah. This study is grounded in the concept of 'Developing Riddle Cards as a Medium for English Vocabulary Instruction' and focuses on the development of printed learning media. The research was conducted using a questionnaire distributed to material experts, media experts, teachers, and students to provide feedback on the product. The findings indicate that the developed riddle cards are more effective in promoting English vocabulary acquisition among English language learners compared to traditional learning media. Additionally, this study aims to provide a reference for the use of riddle cards as a learning medium for English vocabulary and assist students in English language learning." "This study has succeeded in developing Riddles Card media containing English vocabulary for grade VII students of MTS Darul Karomah, which is in line with existing materials and curriculum. This media uses attractive and innovative colors and images, which are made using the Canva application. The results of the study show that this media is effective in improving students' ability to understand English vocabulary.
