Abstract

The rise of illegal online loans has caused a lot of harm to consumers. Some argue that the OJK as a regulator in the field of financial services is considered incapable of protecting consumers. The research method, normative juridical approach with laws and regulations analyzed qualitatively. The conclusions obtained are, first, the regulation of consumer legal protection for online loans according to Indonesian law is carried out by applying the principles of transparency, fair treatment, reliability, confidentiality, and security of consumer data/information. Second, legal protection for online loan recipients is carried out preventively through regulation and supervision, as well as providing information and education to the public about the characteristics of illegal online loans. Repressive legal protection can be carried out by imposing administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions. Suggestions that can be conveyed are that the OJK needs to increase stricter supervision of online loan providers and that laws and regulations are needed that are higher than the existing laws and regulations.

Abstract

This study analyses the implementation of Bugis community marriage in Malangke in accordance with the maqashid al-syariah. This study uses qualitative research with primary data from traditional, religious, and community leaders. The implementation of Bugis community marriage through cultural Islamization so as not to conflict with Sharia. In culture, there are benefits for both the wife and husband. This kind of marriage culture is called al-adah al-sahihah or al-urf al-sahih, namely good customs and can be used as legal considerations. In community marriage, there is a Mappasikarawa or mappasiluka (first contact) section, following the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, who gave instructions to husbands when they were about to marry a woman, they should hold her crown, read the basmalah, pray for blessings and read. In addition, Mappassau Botting and Cemme Passili (caring for and bathing the bride) are in accordance with the principle of maqasid al-syariah of descent (Nasl). The dowry in maqashid al-syariah is classified as maslahat tahsiniyyat, a benefit based on beautifying relationships. The tradition of giving dowry can be justified according to Islamic law as a form of upholding the value of family honour. Maqashid al-syariah and marriage of the Bugis community to realize goodness while avoiding evil or bringing benefits (maslahah).

Abstract

The concept of viral has become a new phenomenon in society, which is different from oral rumors or traditional issues because it manifests itself in the form of content on social media. Although it is considered a channel for free speech, virality is often based on emotion and subjectivity, thus giving rise to debates regarding the justice it produces. The phenomenon of "No Viral No Justice" shows that public opinion is often used as the basis for social justice, which is dangerous because viral justice does not always reflect objective truth. On the other hand, the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (ITE Law) is actually designed to regulate the proportionate delivery of information, not to restrict freedom of opinion. However, the implementation of the ITE Law is often misinterpreted as a tool to suppress public voices, thereby creating a fear of speaking out. Therefore, it is important to understand that virality can be a tool to raise awareness of certain issues, but it should not be used as a means of public justice. In the framework of democracy, a balance between freedom of speech and information regulation is needed so that justice is maintained without sacrificing public discussion space.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has created potential for progress in various aspects of life. However, the increasing number of IoT devices also raises the risk of cyberattacks, particularly IoT botnets often exploited by attackers. This is largely due to the limitations of IoT devices, such as constraints in capacity, power, and memory, necessitating an efficient detection system. This study aims to develop a resource-efficient botnet detection system by using the Self-Organizing Feature Map (SOFM) dimensionality reduction method in combination with machine learning algorithms. The proposed method includes a feature engineering process using SOFM to address high-dimensional data, followed by classification with various machine learning algorithms. The experiments evaluate performance based on accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, False Positive Rate (FPR), and False Negative Rate (FNR). Results show that the Decision Tree algorithm achieved the highest accuracy rate of 97.24%, with a sensitivity of 0.9523, specificity of 0.9932, and a fast execution time of 100.66 seconds. The use of SOFM successfully reduced memory consumption from 3.08 GB to 923MB. Experimental results indicate that this approach is effective for enhancing IoT security in resource-constrained devices.

Abstract

This research analyzes the thinking processes of students specializing and generalizing in solving problems related to three-dimensional geometry. The objective of this research is to clearly identify how the cognitive processes of specializing and generalizing assist students in comprehending and solving problems related to three-dimensional geometry. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method to investigate students’ problem-solving processes in three-dimensional geometry. Two ninth-grade students were selected through purposive sampling based on their mathematical abilities. Data were collected through task-based interviews and analyzed using qualitative coding to identify key problem-solving strategies and cognitive processes based on their ability to demonstrate specializing and generalizing thinking. Data were collected through geometry problem-solving tasks and unstructured interviews, and analyzed using Stacey’s cognitive framework of mathematical thinking. The result of study reveal that the students demonstrated two distinct forms of schematic representation in their problem-solving processes. Subject 1 employed a pure schematic representation and subject 2 utilized a mixed schematic representation. These two forms of representation enable students to identify patterns and apply the concepts they have learned in a broader context. The findings indicate that students exhibit distinct cognitive patterns in specializing and generalizing, with a predominant reliance on visual reasoning in spatial geometry problem-solving. While some students transition effectively between these two processes, others face difficulties in generalizing abstract concepts
