Abstract

Student readiness for Industrial Work Practice (Prakerin) is a crucial component of vocational education, particularly in the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) program. This study aims to enhance the technical competence of students at SMK Swasta YAPIM Biru-Biru in the field of fiber optic networking, a key technology widely adopted in the networking and telecommunications industries. The competency strengthening program was conducted through intensive training covering theoretical foundations of fiber optics, installation practices, splicing techniques, testing procedures, and basic maintenance. Evaluation methods included pre-tests, post-tests, and observation of students' practical skills. The results showed a significant improvement in both conceptual understanding and hands-on abilities following the training. This program is expected to equip students with the confidence and technical proficiency required to undertake their industrial work practice successfully. Furthermore, this initiative reflects a strong synergy between educational institutions and the industry in preparing skilled vocational graduates who are responsive to technological advancements.

Abstract

This research discusses the simulation and comparison of OSPF and EIGRP performance on hybrid topology (star and mesh) in Cisco Packet Tracer. The main objective of this research is to compare delivery time and routing efficiency on the performance of OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols on hybrid network topologies (star and mesh) using Cisco Packet Tracer. The research was conducted by dividing the IP address on each network and simulating data transmission with sizes of 400 bits, 800 bits, and 1200 bits. The results of this study show the comparison of the difference in delivery time between OSPF and EIGRP protocols is 0.0026 seconds with a packet size of 400 bits, 0.003 seconds with a packet size of 800 bits and 0.00317 seconds with a packet size of 1200 bits with EIGRP is superior to OSPF with a ratio of 3:0. With these results, EIGRP performance is slightly better than OSPF performance in terms of delivery time.

Abstract

Penentuan jalur terpendek merupakan aspek krusial dalam sistem navigasi modern, khususnya di kota besar dengan tingkat kepadatan lalu lintas tinggi seperti Medan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan algoritma A* dalam menentukan rute tercepat dari Kecamatan Medan Selayang ke Deli Park Mall, Medan, dengan menggunakan data jaringan jalan aktual yang diperoleh secara manual dari Google Maps. Pendekatan graf manual ini merupakan fitur pembeda penting dari penelitian ini karena memberikan kontrol penuh terhadap struktur graf dan memastikan akurasi data lokal yang tidak tersedia dalam dataset otomatis seperti OpenStreetMap, sehingga lebih sesuai untuk konteks geografis spesifik Medan. Graf jaringan jalan dimodelkan sebagai graf berbobot menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Python, di mana simpul merepresentasikan titik lokasi dan sisi merepresentasikan jarak antar titik. Algoritma A* dipilih karena kemampuannya menggabungkan biaya aktual (g(n)) dan estimasi heuristik (h(n)) sehingga pencarian menjadi lebih efisien dibandingkan algoritma konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma A* berhasil menentukan rute optimal sepanjang 8,9 km melalui jalur A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I-J-K-L, dan dieksekusi dalam waktu lebih cepat dibanding algoritma Dijkstra dengan selisih waktu 0,05 detik. Rute tersebut divisualisasikan menggunakan graf untuk mendukung analisis spasial. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan sistem navigasi berbasis graf pada konteks lokal dengan pendekatan metodologi yang dapat direplikasi untuk kota-kota besar lainnya di Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of science and technology facilitates various aspects of life, including forecasting. Forecasting student enrollment in private universities can maximize the use of resources for services, facilities, infrastructure, and improving human resources. The regression method is used to measure the effect of promotional costs on increasing student enrollment in the future. This forecasting will be valid if an accurate model is used. The results showed the level of accuracy using the MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) model of 2.229%. However, the level of accuracy can vary each due to differences in data.

Abstract

Scholarships are financial assistance with the intention to be used as a means of continuing education that is taken and is usually given by foundations, companies and government agencies. Scholarships in the form of funds used to help underprivileged students in continuing their task of completing education. Therefore the scholarship must be on target to the recipient who is truly feasible and deserves to get it. The number of prospective recipients makes the selection process take a long time. In this case the use of data mining methods can be used as a solution to facilitate the selection process. The C4.5 algorithm is an algorithm that will be used in this study. The data used are the names of students, classes, parents' income, dependents of parents, and the average report card value. Data mining processing on a training data will produce a decision tree. The evaluation method carried out in this test was obtained by the accuracy value of 93.33 %, this could be proof that the C4.5 algorithm was accurate enough to provide scholarship recommendations.
