Abstract

This study has a purpose to compare students' understanding and motivation. The research uses quasi experimental research method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design design. The sample used is the students of grade IV Tenjolaya 1 Elementary School. After the research is known from the significant level α = 0.05, 1) Picture and Picture method is considered not better than the conventional method in improving students' understanding and motivation with P-value (Sig 1 -tailed) of 0.068, 2) Picture and Picture method better improve student's learning motivation than conventional method with P-value (Sig. 1-tailed) of 0.002, 3) ability of understanding does not have relation with learning motivation with P-value (Sig. 2-tailed) is worth 0.119. Therefore it is concluded that the Picture and Picture method is not better in improving students 'understanding, but better in improving students' learning motivation than conventional method, and understanding ability has no relation with learning motivation.

Abstract

The research purposed are to knew influence by contextual approach with “Bocah Unik” to the mathematical understanding and student’s mathematical connections and how correlation from that ability. The method used is quasi experimental with the nonequivalent control group design. The sample are students of fourth grade elementary school from SDN Bendungan 2 as an experimental class and SDN Sukamulya as an controlling class. The instruments used are mathematical understanding test,  mathematical connections test, observation sheet of teacher performance, observation sheet of student activities, student journals and field notes. The research results that mathematical understanding ability of conventional approach is better than contextual approach. While, mathematical connections ability of contextual approach is better than the control one. There is a correlation between mathematical understanding and mathematical connections ability. So, the student who has a good ability of mathematical understanding is inclined that the student has a good ability of mathematical connection.

Abstract

Skill writing is one of the language is to be controlled by students in subject of indonesian language .Writing skills taught that students have skills write a good one and can be taken as a means of communication in the life of everyday . One methods used to teach write that is practicing cooperative type two stay two stray and game sentence chain .Through the two are two stray and game sentence chain , students will know procedures for writing with regard to penggunan spelling with well as learning bepleasant .But in fact he is not all teachers able to teach writing skills correctly .This article will talk about the application of the cooperative type two stay two stray and game chain sentence to improve writing skills of from experience on the kids grade school district 1 danamulya plumbon cirebon.

Abstract

Kemampuan representasi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang masih rendah. Kemampuan ini dapat dikembangkan melalui pembelajaran yang inovatif. Salahsatu pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa adalah pendekatan kontekstual berstrategi relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, transferring (REACT). Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode  eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IV SD se-Kecamatan Cisalak Kabupaten Subang yang sekolahnya berada pada kelompok sedang. Sementara, sampelnya adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Cigadog II sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SDN Cisalak III  sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes kemampuan representasi matematis, skala sikap, lembar observasi kinerja guru, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan wawancara dengan siswa. Hasil penelitian dengan taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual berstrategi REACT lebih baik secara signifikan daripada pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Selain itu, respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran kontekstual berstrategi REACT sangat positif.
