Abstract

This research aims to describe the construction of identity and reality in the novel Calabai by Pepi Al-Bayqunie. The main data source for this research is the novel Calabai by Pepi Al-Bayqunie the method use is qualitative analysis using literature study as a data collection technique. The theory used is Jacques Derrida’s theory of deconstruction. The results of the research show that there is a construction of identity and reality in the character Saidi in the novel Calabai by Pepi Al-Bayqunie the identity presented by the main character in the novel Calabai by Pepi Al-Bayqunie is the existence of a women’s soul that resides in a Saidi who is actually a man and the reality that exists in every event that comes to Saidi as a women with a soul and a bissu. Saidi, who was initially the object of insults, calabai, which was considered a disaster, was actually the opposite of the reality experienced by Saidi in Segeri. It never crossed his mind that a man with a woman’s soul would become the person modt respected and respected by others.

Abstract

Seiring perkembangan teknologi, minat siswa terhadap informasi digital meningkat. Namun, ketidakmampuan untuk menyaring informasi membuat mereka rentan terhadap hoaks. Hoaks dapat menyebabkan misinformasi, polarisasi sosial, bahkan ketakutan yang tidak beralasan. Siswa harus dilatih untuk berpikir kritis, mengevaluasi sumber informasi, dan membedakan antara fakta dan pendapat. Kegiatan PKM pelatihan literasi informasi untuk siswa dalam memerangi hoaks di dunia digital bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran siswa terhadap bahaya hoaks dan menumbuhkan etika digital dalam pengelolaan informasi. Tim PKM mengadakan kegiatan melalui pendampingan dan penyuluhan di SMK Negeri 3 Makassar.  Siswa mendapatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan perspektif yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi tantangan informasi di era digital. Siswa tidak hanya memperoleh pemahaman tentang efek buruk hoaks tetapi juga mendapatkan pengalaman praktis dalam menemukan, menganalisis, dan memverifikasi informasi melalui workshop verifikasi informasi, studi kasus, dan ceramah interaktif. Mereka diberi instruksi untuk memastikan bahwa informasi yang mereka terima adalah akurat dengan menggunakan alat digital seperti situs pemeriksa kebenaran dan mesin pencari. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan ini membantu siswa menjadi pengguna media digital yang lebih cerdas, kritis, dan bertanggung jawab. Kesimpulan bahwa siswa dididik dengan keterampilan untuk memverifikasi informasi dan membangun sikap bertanggung jawab, sehingga mereka menjadi pengguna media digital yang kritis, bijaksana, dan berkontribusi positif pada pembentukan lingkungan digital yang sehat.Abstract. As technology advances, students' interest in digital information increases. However, the inability to filter information makes them vulnerable to hoaxes. Hoaxes can cause misinformation, social polarization, and even unfounded fear. Students must be trained to think critically, evaluate sources of information, and distinguish between facts and opinions. The PKM activity of information literacy training for students in combating hoaxes in the digital world aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of the dangers of hoaxes and foster digital ethics in information management. The PKM team held activities through mentoring and counseling at SMK Negeri 3 Makassar. Students gained the knowledge, skills, and perspectives needed to face the challenges of information in the digital era. Students not only gained an understanding of the negative effects of hoaxes but also gained practical experience in finding, analyzing, and verifying information through information verification workshops, case studies, and interactive lectures. They were instructed to ensure that the information they received was accurate by using digital tools such as truth-checking sites and search engines. Therefore, this training helps students become smarter, more critical, and responsible digital media users. The conclusion is that students are educated with the skills to verify information and build a responsible attitude, so that they become critical, wise digital media users and contribute positively to the formation of a healthy digital environment.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the novel entitled "Azab dan sengsara" by Merari Siregar using the existential feminism approach as a view of the role of women in expressing their existentiality how women do not rely on men in their lives.  The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative through novel data sources by analyzing the existence of women in characters, and examining the influence of patriarchal culture on male characters. The results of the study discuss the conflicts that occur in a society by discussing the views of male characters, and the habits of society as a means of dominating women, such as, gender inequality, women's unfreedom in forced marriages, women's love results in discrimination In addition to this, it has been found that the existence of women in society, who are aware of the existence of women, and get the right to position as women including, the right to freedom, the right to express ideas and opinions, the right to be recognized.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual (SAVI) method in teaching descriptive text writing skills to seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 24 Makassar. This research employed an experimental design using the one-group pretest-posttest model. The population of the study consisted of all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 24 Makassar. Data collection was carried out through written tests administered before and after the treatment. Data analysis techniques showed that the SAVI method was effective in teaching students' descriptive text writing skills. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test indicated that the t-value for class VII.1 was 10.204 > t-table 2.093, for class VII.2 it was 14.426 > t-table 2.085, and for class VII.4 it was 14.523 > t-table 2.085, with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) for all three classes = 0.001 < 0.05, thus H1 was accepted. The average skill in writing descriptive texts among students improved from the "poor" category to the "fair" category.

Abstract

This study analyzes illocutionary speech acts in the film "Anak Karaeng" by Amin D.B., focusing on how the dialogues reflect and preserve Makassar cultural values, especially the kekaraengang customs. The research method involves direct observation of the film and literature review on pragmatics and Makassar culture, with data analyzed through reduction, presentation, and triangulation for validation. Results show five types of illocutionary acts: directive, expressive, commissive, representative, and declarative, dominated by directive and expressive acts that enrich the storyline and character interactions while reflecting cultural values and social dynamics of Makassar society. The study highlights the film’s role as a medium for cultural preservation and differs from others by using the Makassar regional language, offering deep insights into the role of language in strengthening kekaraengang traditions and local cultural identity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of code switching and code mixing of Makassar and Indonesian languages on Facebook social media and the factors causing it. The research method in this study is a qualitative research method. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses or sentences containing elements of code switching and code mixing as well as the factors causing code switching and code mixing of Makassar and Indonesian languages in Facebook social media posts. The data source in this study is the upload of Facebook user accounts containing elements of code switching and code mixing of Makassarese and Indonesian languages. The data collection techniques in this study are documentation techniques and reading techniques. The results of this study indicate that the form of code switching in Facebook social media posts occurs between sentences, within sentences, and symbolic code switching. The form of code mixing is the insertion of elements in the form of words and the insertion of elements in the form of phrases. The factors causing code switching and code mixing are quoting other people, emphasizing something, the background of the speaker's attitude, and the linguistic background.

Abstract

Salah satu program unggulan yang disiarkan oleh RRI Pro 2 Makassar adalah SPADA (Selamat Pagi Teman Pro 2), yang menyapa pendengar muda dengan cara yang santai, interaktif, dan penuh semangat. Berdasarkan pengalaman dan pengamatan mahasiswa magang dari Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) di RRI Pro 2 Makassar, artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tindak tutur dan bentuk interaksi dalam program SPADA. Selama siaran, observasi langsung dan wawancara informal dilakukan dengan penyiar dan narasumber. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa, melalui sapaan khas dan penggunaan humor ringan, Tindak tutur penyiar didominasi oleh bahasa yang komunikatif, hangat, dan akrab dengan pendengar. Sebagian besar, interaksi antara penyiar, narasumber, dan terjadi secara langsung di studio, dan pendengar secara virtual melalui radio atau rri digital. Namun, interaksi langsung lebih sering terjadi. Sebagai hasilnya, hubungan antara penyiar dan audiens semakin erat karena pendengar berpartisipasi aktif dalam segmen Bisik Bincang Asik dan kesempatan untuk request lagu. Suara yang dihasilkan menjadi hidup, dinamis, dan ramah. Singkatnya, Tindak tutur yang santai dan interaksi yang terbuka menjadi ciri khas program SPADA, yang berhasil menarik minat pendengar muda dan memperkuat peran radio sebagai media komunikasi publik yang positif dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Magang berfungsi sebagai pelatihan penting untuk meningkatkan keterampilan lunak mahasiswa, khususnya dalam bidang penyiaran radio. Di Lembaga Penyiaran Publik Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Makassar, program magang pada Santai Siang di Pro 2 menyediakan pengalaman praktis yang mencakup aspek teknis dan non-teknis penyiaran. Mahasiswa belajar tidak hanya dalam mengoperasikan perangkat siaran, tetapi juga dalam mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi, etika siaran, serta pengelolaan emosi saat siaran langsung. Melalui berbagai segmen interaktif seperti Pro 2 Hitlist, NGULIK (Ngobrol UMKM dan Kuliner), Pro 2 Sport, Pro 2 Entertain, dan LOKIN (Lokal Informasi Makassar), mahasiswa magang dilatih membuat konten, memanfaatkan media sosial untuk promosi, dan berinteraksi langsung dengan pendengar. Pengalaman ini membantu menumbuhkan sikap profesional, kreativitas, kerja sama tim, dan kesiapan menghadapi tantangan di industri media yang dinamis. Pengabdian ini juga akan memberikan pelatihan kesantunan berbahasa secara tidak langsung bagi Gen Z melalui siaran-siaran yang dilakukan.

Abstract

The title of this research is “The Meaning of Heuristics and Hermeneutics in The Pappasang of Makassar Society (Review of Riffaterre Semiotics)”. This study aims to reveal the heuristic and hermeneutic meaning in Makassar community pappasang. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the pappasang of the Makassar community analyzed from the book Pasang and Paruntuk Kana in Classical Makassar Literature found words or sentences in the expression of pappasang all indicated heuristic and hermeneutic meanings. Heuristic meaning is the first level of reading based on reading language conventions by finding the nuances of language meaning contained in a pappasang and in it are found things related to the phenomena of individual life which include religion, morals and social, hard work and unity, sirik na pacce, and leadership. Hermeneutic meaning is the second level of reading based on reading literary conventions that provide interpretations of the meaning contained in the pappasang and reveal more of the intent of the contents of the pappasang.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of an integrated approach in preparing learning plans for Indonesian language subjects at the senior high school level. The research method was qualitative in the form of a case study carried out at some schools in Makassar. The subjects of this research were Indonesian language teachers who were determined purposively. Data collection methods were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using (1) reduction, (2) presentation, and (3) verification techniques. The findings show that empowering the integrated approach always begins, and this was dominated by the speaking aspect rather than the other skills such as reading, writing, and listening skills. On the other hand, linguistic aspects are least programmed by Indonesian language teachers. Linguistic aspects are never combined with literature, even though it is very interesting to teach at the high school level on a multi-ethnic basis. It can be concluded that the Indonesian language is taught by using an integrated approach, which can reshape the students’ speaking competency. This approach is implemented in the lesson plan to enhance the Indonesian learning process.
