Abstract

Maize production is one of the main components of food in agriculture in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) with a significant contribution to national production. However, maize production in NTB often fluctuates due to weather conditions, climate, market prices, government policies, land area, resource availability, and access to technology and information. The aims of the research is to determine the prediction of corn production in NTB for 2024-2026. This research uses the least square method to predict maize production based on historical data trends, which allows for more accurate planning. Previous studies have shown that this method is effective in producing accurate predictions for various agricultural commodities. The results are expected to provide predictions that can be used by the government and farmers for better production planning and risk mitigation, and become a reference for the development of prediction techniques in agriculture

Abstract

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) is an index that describes how expensive it is to build a building, the higher the index, the greater the cost. Meanwhile, the Human Development Index (HDI) is an index used to measure the quality of life of the people in a region, the higher the value, the better the quality of life. It is important to know how the pattern and dynamics of the relationship between CCI and HDI. Therefore, this paper aims to determine the relationship between CCI and HDI in West Nusa Tenggara Province. The data taken is secondary data derived from Central Bureau of Statistics. First, define the hypothesis between CCI and HDI, where CCI and HDI are assumed to have a negative relationship, which means that the higher HDI, the lower CCI, and vice versa, the lower HDI, the higher CCI.The average CCI in West Nusa Tenggara falls into the high category, as does the HDI. After that, compare the CCI and HDI values in each region with the previous region, where Makassar City is used as the initial comparison for the CCI category, as it is the region closest to or equal to the national average index. As a result, most regions show the hypothesized negative relationship. out of 10 regions, only Sumbawa District, West Sumbawa District, and Bima District show a negative relationship.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the process of consumer price enumeration at the traditional Pagesangan Market, Mataram City, during July 2024, and analyze the percentage changes in commodity prices between June and July 2024. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, involving systematic steps such as field observations, formation of an enumeration team, training on survey methods, and direct data collection using questionnaires. Results indicate significant price fluctuations among key commodities: mackerel and cayenne pepper recorded price increases of up to 35% and 30%, respectively, due to limited supply and disrupted harvests. In contrast, tomato prices fell sharply by about 40% due to a surplus during the peak harvest season. Analysis reveals that seasonal factors, supply chain dynamics, and consumer demand are the primary drivers of these changes. The findings highlight the importance of maintaining price stability through targeted policies, particularly for essential goods that directly affect consumer purchasing power.

Abstract

Differential equations are often a topic in the field of mathematics which has many applications in mathematical modeling, one of which is population growth. Research on population growth is of course important for an area because the results  of this research can be used in issuing policies such as maintaining the availability of agricultural land, places to live, and many others. In this study, the mathematical model of differential equations was used to find a population growth model for the West Nusa Tenggara Province, then the model was verified and calculations were carried    out using the Mathematica software. Then a model is generated with the equation (?) = 3504006 ?0,012(?−1993) which results in a calculation that the population of NTB will continue to grow so that it is necessary to verify the model which produces a logistics growth model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the monthly trends in rice productivity and harvested area in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province in 2023 and identify the relationship between these two variables. The data used in this research were obtained through a rice crop cutting survey based on the Area Sample Frame (KSA) method conducted by the Central Statistics Agency. Productivity was calculated based on the amount of yield produced per unit area of land each month. The results showed that rice productivity in NTB Province fluctuated, with the highest productivity recorded in January at 56.54 quintals per hectare (ku/ha) and the lowest in June at 48.40 ku/ha. Similarly, the harvested area varied, with the largest area recorded in March at 73,766 hectares and the smallest in December at 5,382 hectares. The analysis of the relationship between harvested area and rice productivity revealed an inverse pattern, where an increase in harvested area was not always accompanied by an increase in productivity. Therefore, rice productivity and harvested area are more influenced by external factors and do not directly affect each other.

Abstract

This study aims to identify periodic patterns and predict the movement of Coca-Cola (KO) stock prices using Fourier series in a linear regression model. The data utilized includes daily closing stock prices over the 2014-2024 period. A Fourier model with 15 harmonic components was chosen to optimize the balance between prediction accuracy and the risk of overfitting. The analysis results showed an R-squared value of 0.9174, indicating a high capability of capturing stock price variations. The detected price fluctuations reveal significant seasonal cycles and periodic trends. The price forecast for the 2024-2029 period indicates potential higher volatility, influenced by consumer demand dynamics, global economic uncertainty, product innovation, as well as geopolitical factors and climate change. These findings provide insights for investors to develop investment strategies based on the detected stock price fluctuation patterns.

Abstract

Audio signals play an important role as a medium for storing information, such as lecture materials, interview results, and other archives. However, audio signals are often contaminated by noise, which is unwanted interference that can affect their quality. Therefore, a denoising process is needed to reduce or eliminate noise components in the signal. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithms are frequently used in the denoising process due to their simple and easy-to-implement steps. This research uses primary data, specifically audio signals recorded under two noise conditions: rain noise as Audio Signal 1 and guitar instrument noise as Audio Signal 2, both stored in WAV format. The denoising process was performed using MATLAB software and evaluated based on Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and Mean Squared Error (MSE) metrics. Higher SNR values and lower MSE values indicate the success of the denoising process in improving audio signal quality. The results of this study demonstrate the effectiveness of the applied algorithms, where the SNR value reached 38.2596 dB with an MSE of 0.0000028211 for Audio Signal 1, and an SNR value of 38.6881 dB with an MSE of 0.0000014988 for Audio Signal 2. An SNR value between 25 dB and 40 dB is categorized as a very good signal, indicating that the quality of the processed audio signals falls into the very good signal category.

Abstract

This study uses Google Earth Engine, a cloud computing platform, to examine variations in land surface temperature in East Lombok Regency between 2010 and 2020. This study uses MODIS satellite data and is analyzed using Google Earth Engine by adapting a mathematical method—namely, the Random Forest Algorithm from discrete mathematics. According to the results, the temperature increased from its lowest point in 2010 (14.32°C) to its maximum point in 2020 (36.19°C), rising to 16.67°C and 37.74°C. Due to residential growth, Wanasaba, Pringgabaya, and Sambelia saw the biggest increases. Comprehensive temperature monitoring is made possible by Google Earth Engine, which facilitates the effective processing of large-scale spatial data. These results offer a scientific foundation for policy decisions and are essential for environmental management and climate change mitigation. In addition to supporting environmental monitoring initiatives, this study provides a reference for related studies in other areas dealing with issues related to land use and climate change. This research is important for the Central Lombok government as a basis for mitigation efforts in responding to temperature changes and their implications for land use change.
