Abstract

The level of students’ motivation to learn mathematics has an impact on mathematics learning outcomes. This research aims to identify the level of student learning motivation in mathematics learning for vocational school students in the frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) area. The type of research used was qualitative research with descriptive methods. The subjects of this research were 16 students from the 12th grade of Formarimoi Vocational School, West Halmahera. The data collection technique used was the distribution of questionnaires and classroom observations. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the average score and percentage of students' answers based on predetermined indicators which were then interpreted into assessment categories. Based on the research results, it was found that student learning motivation had a percentage score of 77.09% which was in the good category. In more detail, the indicator of feeling happy and diligent in learning has a percentage score of 78.90% in the good category, the indicator of willingness and interest in learning has a score of 74.41% in the good category, the indicator of self-confidence and independence in learning has a percentage score amounted to 69.87%, and the achievement indicator in learning had a score of 85.16% in the very good category.

Abstract

Setiap pelaku usaha pasti menghadapi tantangan untuk mengoptimalkan keuntungan dengan sumber daya terbatas, terutama dalam menentukan jumlah produksi yang sesuai permintaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan keuntungan penjualan gorengan pada usaha kecil di lingkungan perumahan Pagutan Barat, yang berfokus pada dua produk utama yaitu tempe goreng dan tahu isi. Proses optimalisasi menggunakan metode Simpleks dengan bantuan software POM-QM. Metode Simpleks dipilih karena mampu menentukan kombinasi produksi optimal dengan mempertimbangkan batasan sumber daya dan target keuntungan. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan optimasi, diperoleh bahwa jumlah penjualan harian supaya mendapatkan keuntungan paling optimal adalah 30 pcs tempe goreng dan 90 pcs tahu isi. Penerapan metode ini menghasilkan keuntungan penjualan sebesar Rp. 90.000 per hari. Hal ini tentunya memberikan dampak positif pada total keuntungan usaha. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa metode Simpleks mampu membantu pelaku usaha memperoleh keuntungan yang lebih optimal. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik optimasi matematis dapat menjadi solusi praktis bagi pelaku usaha dalam mengelola dan mengoptimalkan penjualan.

Abstract

Rumah Kaos convection is a manufacturing company that focuses on producing high-quality t-shirts with a variety of design options. This research aims to optimize turnover from t-shirt production by applying a linear programming approach using the simplex method. The data analyzed includes product type, raw materials, working time and selling price. The analysis process is carried out by compiling objective functions, constraint functions, and simplex table modeling. The results of this research show the optimal combination in raw material allocation that can maximize profits. It is hoped that these findings will serve as a strategic guide for entrepreneurs in planning production efficiently and achieving sustainable business growth.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels, known as hyperglycemia. The objective of this study is to develop a mathematical model of diabetes mellitus. The model will be analyzed in terms of its equilibrium points using the Adam-Bashforth Moulton numerical method. The numerical method that used is a multistep method. The predictor step employs the Runge-Kutta method, while the corrector step uses the Adam-Bashforth Moulton method. The mathematical model of diabetes mellitus is categorized into two classes: uncomplicated diabetes mellitus and complicated diabetes mellitus. The resulting model identifies two equilibrium points: the endemic equilibrium point (complicated) and the disease-free equilibrium point (uncomplicated). The eigenvalues of these equilibrium points are positive real numbers and negative real numbers. Therefore, the stability of the system is found to be unstable and asymptotically stable, indicating that the population of individuals with uncomplicated diabetes mellitus will continue to rise, whereas the population with complications will not increase significantly over time.

Abstract

Halal certification is an effort to protect consumers from consuming non-halal food by providing halal labels on packaging of product. The halal label is one of the requirement that influences decision making by consumers who want to buy the food products especially in Indonesia, one of the country with a high Muslim population. The Community Service Program (PKM) is implemented at coffee processing business actors with the trademark D'Bajangs produced by PT. Beruk Pacu Jaya located in Central Lombok.  The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge regarding the importance of Halal Certificatio for Small Micro Enterprise (UMK) and obtain the Halal Certificate. The method used in this activity is the lecture method, discussion and work instruction exercises. The results of this activity were increasing knowledge of the halal quality assurance system and understanding that halal certification is very important for its products. So that public trust in UMK products increases thereby increasing sales. As well as overseeing UMKM PT. Beriuk Pacu Jaya to obtain halal certification for typical Lombok coffee products with the trademark D'Bajangs in the SEHATI22 program initiated by BPJPH.

Abstract

The low emphasis on mathematical operation concepts in elementary school students is a problem that is often encountered. The educational game method in learning can improve the idea of mathematical operations. The quantitative study was conducted by collecting Pretest-Posttest answers in offline worksheets in the classroom. The research subjects were 5th-grade students of SD Negeri 4 Mataram. We analyzed the data by paired sample t-test to see whether the initial hypothesis was accepted or rejected. Based on the results, it is observed that the use of educational game methods can significantly improve the concept of mathematical operations for 5th-grade students. The obtained grades increase from a minimum of 25% to a maximum of 100%, with an average increase of 57.22%. Based on these findings the researcher provides the following recommendations: (1) Teachers should present variations of math learning so that students are not bored and interested during the learning process (2) Schools should support learning by providing the necessary learning materials so that learning objectives can be achieved. (3) Researchers should study methods other than educational game methods so that they can provide recommendations to teachers regarding effective learning methods to be applied in learning.

Abstract

Graphs are an excellent instrument that provides an algebraic structure for visualizing and interpreting molecule structures and characteristics. As a result, the problem statement arises regarding how we can interpret graphs with eigenvalues concerning their corresponding matrices. Such questions can be answered by studying spectral graph theory. This research focuses on graphs whose vertex sets are group elements in which the structure of ℤn groups and the definition of a prime coprime graph serve as the foundation for the graph building used in this study. The matrix construction of the graph is based on transmission-based matrices including Weiner-Hosoya and distance signless Laplacian matrices. Research methods include investigating the transmission properties and formulation of the characteristic equation using block matrices. The results obtained are a comprehensive analysis of eigenvalues, spectrum, and spectral radius leading to the prime coprime graph energy for ℤn groups corresponding to both matrices.

Abstract

The set together with the operation maximum (max) denoted as and addition (+) denoted as is called max-plus algebra. Max-plus algebra may be used to apply algebraically a few programs of Discrete Event Systems (DES), certainly one of the examples in the production system. In this study, the application of max-plus algebra in a serial manufacturing machine with a storage unit is discussed. The results of this are the generalization system max-plus-linear equations on a production system that is, in addition, noted the max-plus-linear time-invariant system. From the max-plus-linear time-invariant system, it can be obtained the equation which is then used to determine the beginning time of a production system so the manufacturing machine work periodically. The eigenvector and eigenvalue of the matrix are then used to find the beginning time and the period time of the manufacturing machine. Furthermore, the time when the product leaves the manufacturing machine with the time while the raw material enters the manufacturing machine is given and vice versa are obtained from the max-plus-linear time-invariant system that is can be formed in the equation .

Abstract

This community service program was carried out with the primary objective of enhancing the professional competence of mathematics teachers at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level in Mataram City, particularly in the teaching of geometry. Recognizing the importance of mastering digital technology in modern mathematics learning, the program focused on the introduction and application of GeoGebra as an interactive medium for teaching geometry concepts. The activities were conducted at the Basic Computer Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Mataram, involving 18 MTs mathematics teachers. The program consisted of introducing fundamental concepts of geometry, hands-on training on the technical use of GeoGebra, and an evaluation of learning outcomes through pre-tests and post-tests. The evaluation results indicated an improvement in participants’ scores, demonstrating the effectiveness of the training. The teachers’ enthusiasm was evident from their active participation in discussions, asking questions, and exploring GeoGebra’s features during the training. The pre-test results showed that participants scored between 7 and 20, with an average of 13.56. Following the post-test, scores improved significantly, ranging from 20 to 28 with an average of 24.89. This confirms that all teachers, without exception, experienced an increase in scores. The positive impact of this program is expected to contribute to improving the quality of mathematics teaching at the MTs level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menjawab permasalahan yang dihadapi guru MTs dalam mengajarkan materi geometri dan penerapan pendekatan pemecahan masalah (problem solving). Fokus kegiatan adalah pada pendalaman filosofi dan konsep dasar geometri, serta pelatihan penerapan problem solving dalam pembelajaran. Pada pelatihan penguatan konsep geometri, peserta mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai makna konseptual di balik sifat-sifat bangun datar dan ruang, relasi antar-teorema, serta relevansinya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan lebih dari 80% peserta mampu memahami filosofi konsep geometri dan mengaitkannya dengan strategi pembelajaran. Sementara itu, melalui pelatihan problem solving, guru dilatih untuk mengenali tahapan pemecahan masalah mulai dari memahami persoalan, merancang strategi, melaksanakan solusi, hingga merefleksi hasil. Sebanyak 70% peserta berhasil menyusun perangkat pembelajaran berbasis problem solving yang aplikatif di kelas. Efektivitas kegiatan ini juga ditunjukkan melalui hasil pre-test dan post-test, di mana seluruh peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman, dengan beberapa mencapai peningkatan skor hingga 75 poin. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual guru terhadap geometri, keterampilan pedagogik berbasis problem solving, serta kepercayaan diri dalam mengajar matematika secara lebih bermakna dan kontekstual.
