Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using a blended learning model in improving students' learning outcomes in Islamic Education at SMA Negeri 1 Katibung. The research followed a quantitative approach with an experimental design and a post-test only control group method. The sample included two classes: a control group using traditional teaching methods and an experimental group applying the blended learning model. A multiple-choice test, which was validated for reliability and validity, was used to assess students' learning outcomes after the treatment. The data collected was analyzed using a t-test to compare the learning outcomes between the groups. Normality tests for both groups showed that the data followed a normal distribution, with a significance value of 0.060 (greater than 0.05). Homogeneity tests confirmed the data was homogeneous, with a significance value of 0.212 (greater than 0.05). The t-test results, including Levene’s Test for Equality of Variances, indicated a significance value of 0.113 (greater than 0.05). Based on these results, it was concluded that the Quizizz-based blended learning model did not have a significant impact on students’ learning outcomes, suggesting that the model was not effective.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools like MTS Walisongo, Central Lampung, succeed when students are interested in learning, especially Islamic law. Initial observations indicated that students showed little interest in learning, particularly in paying attention. This phenomenon was evident from the lack of student interaction, limited interest in the topic, and the prominence of conventional learning approaches. This study tests whether the POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) learning approach increases student interest in Islamic jurisprudence. This quantitative study was quasi-experimental and used a post-test-only control group design. Class VIII C was the experimental class, and VIII D was the control class in the research sample, obtained by simple random sampling. The POGIL model has five steps: orientation, exploration, concept invention, application, and closure. The non-test questionnaire had 16 statement items that measured student attention. The results of data analysis using the t-test showed a significant value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. Thus, the POGIL learning model has proven effective in increasing student interest in learning, particularly in the aspect of attention. This study concludes that the implementation of POGIL makes a positive contribution to creating an active, collaborative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere and can be used as an innovative learning alternative to improve the quality of education in madrasah environments.

Abstract

Learning interest is a crucial factor in the educational process because it plays a major role in student engagement in understanding the material. Based on the results of pre-research at MA Al Hikmah Bandar Lampung, it is known that student learning interest in the subject of Akidah Akhlak is still relatively low, especially in the aspects of attention and involvement, which is caused by the dominance of conventional methods and the lack of variety of learning media. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type assisted by flashcards media on increasing student learning interest. The approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method of post-test only control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class X.A as the experimental group and class X.B as the control group. The data collection instrument used a non-test questionnaire that focused on indicators of attention in learning interest. The results of data analysis using the t-test showed a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), which confirmed a significant difference in learning interest between the two groups. These findings prove that the combination of the TPS model and flashcards is effectively able to overcome the obstacles of low student attention and involvement. The synergy between independent thinking, pair discussions, and idea sharing, supported by visualization of material through flashcards, creates a more active and innovative learning environment. This study concludes that the flashcard-based TPS approach is an effective alternative learning strategy for increasing student motivation and interest in deepening the material on Aqidah and Akhlak.

Abstract

This research is driven by the low interest of students in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak at MTs Darul Huda Bandar Lampung, specifically characterized by minimal engagement and attention. Preliminary findings indicated that while students experienced feelings of enjoyment, their enthusiasm did not translate into active participation or optimal learning focus. This study aims to determine the effect of the Talking Stick-based Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on students' learning interests. The research involved class VIII D as the experimental group and class VIII C as the control group, using a quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a post-test-only control group design. The results of the independent sample t-test yielded a significance value (p-value) of 0.017, which is significantly below the 0.05 alpha threshold, confirming a substantial difference in engagement levels between the active experimental class and the passive control class. The combination of academic tournaments and Talking Stick media proved effective in creating a fun, competitive, and focused classroom atmosphere, thereby significantly increasing student involvement dynamics. This study contributes to the field of pedagogy by providing empirical evidence that integrating collaborative game-based models with interactive media can effectively address student passivity and enhance learning motivation in religious education contexts.

Abstract

This research is motivated by low student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Building at Middle School 7 Krui, particularly in higher-order thinking skills (C5 and C6). This issue stems from monotonous teaching methods, varied student comprehension levels, limited media, and low motivation. This study aims to determine the effect of the Padlet-based Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on student learning outcomes. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental, post-test only control group design, the sample comprised two classes: an experimental class taught via the Padlet-based POE model and a control class taught conventionally. Data were collected using validated and reliable multiple-choice tests, then analyzed using normality, homogeneity, t-test, and Mann-Whitney tests. The results showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups, with a t-test significance value of 0.030 and a Mann-Whitney test value of 0.040 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the Padlet-based POE model effectively improves learning outcomes, especially in critical and analytical thinking. This success is driven by the POE syntax—prediction, observation, and explanation—integrated with interactive digital media, which enhances student activity, motivation, and comprehension. In conclusion, the Padlet-based POE learning model has a positive and significant influence on student learning outcomes. It serves as an innovative and effective alternative learning strategy for Islamic Religious Education and Character Education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of the SSCS (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) learning model on student learning outcomes in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MTs Darul Huda Bandar Lampung, especially in improving higher-order thinking skills in the cognitive domain C6 (creating). The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method through a post-test only control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII A as the experimental group that implemented the SSCS model and class VIII C as the control group that used conventional learning. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had passed validity and reliability tests with a Cronbach's Alpha result of 0.617 indicating an adequate level of reliability. Data analysis was carried out using an independent sample t-test. The results showed a significance value of 0.015 <0.05, so there was a significant difference between student learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. This finding proves that the SSCS learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the SKI subject. The novelty of this study lies in the application of the SSCS model in the context of learning Islamic Cultural History which is still rarely studied. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the SSCS model is also able to encourage active student involvement, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and higher-order thinking skills, thus contributing to the development of innovative learning strategies in Islamic education.
