Abstract

This study aims to examine how Community-Based Tourism (CBT) empowers local communities in Tangkit Village through economic, social, and cultural dimensions. Tangkit Village, located in Jambi Province, is known for its pineapple-based agro-tourism and Malay cultural heritage, making it a unique rural tourism destination. While CBT has been widely explored globally, most research emphasizes broad sustainability frameworks, leaving a gap in micro-level empowerment strategies within Indonesian rural contexts. Addressing this gap, the study introduces novelty by analyzing CBT’s role in fostering income generation, cultural preservation, and participatory governance in a localized setting. Using a qualitative approach, secondary data were analyzed through NVivo 12 Plus employing Crosstab Query and Word Frequency tools to identify dominant themes. Results indicate that income generation (54.55%) and community participation in tourism management (50%) are the strongest impacts, while cultural integration is evident through tourism packages (44.44%). However, skill development (20%) and micro-enterprise growth (18.18%) remain limited, signaling areas for improvement. The study concludes that CBT enhances livelihoods and cultural identity but requires stronger capacity-building and inclusive governance. Limitations include reliance on secondary data and a single-case focus, restricting generalizability. Future research should incorporate primary data, comparative case studies, and longitudinal designs to assess scalability and resilience. Exploring digital innovations for marketing and training is also recommended to strengthen CBT practices. These findings contribute to advancing sustainable and inclusive tourism development in rural Indonesia.

Abstract

Disasters are complex issues that cannot be handled by a single actor. Even the government with all the resources at its disposal will not be able to solve disaster problems without involving networks and organizations outside the country. Therefor networking and collaboration are the keys to how to respond to disasters quickly and accurately so that the recovery process can occur quickly. In addition, responding to disasters requires a constructive strategy so that in overcoming disasters, it does not exacerbate the impact of the disaster.  The purpose of this article is to explore how Muhammadiyah's strategy as a civil Islam responds to the earthquake that occurred in West Sulawesi. The reason is because Muhammadiyah in responding to the disaster in West Sulawesi is an example of how its resources are optimally mobilized to solve the problem of the earthquake in West Sulawesi. Starting from the involvement of institutions such as MDMC, PWM, PDM, LazizMu, educational institutions, hospitals, social fields and others. It is of course very interesting to review how Muhammadiyah has provided support for the movement in responding to disasters as a call for a humanitarian mission that has long been inflated. This research method uses a qualitative approach and descriptive methods and in collecting data the author uses report data from Muhammadiyah, media, journals, news, or other literature. Research results show that Muhammadiyah's strategy is very effective for the recovery of disaster victims in West Sulawesi. This cannot be separated from how in the Muhammadiyah strategy, it has the strength of solidity, coordination, and networks that support and strengthen each other so that the organization between institutions is very successful.

Abstract

This study analyzes the social movement “duit ora payu” (money doesn’t work) as a grassroots rejection of vote buying in the Village Head Election (Pilkades) of Narukan Village, Rembang Regency. This phenomenon is significant because it presents an electoral anomaly in which local communities collectively resisted money politics, contributing to contemporary studies on village democracy and electoral integrity. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research draws on literature studies and digital data to examine the dynamics surrounding the election. The findings show that the high level of social capital possessed by the elected candidate, Gus Faruq, built through strong social networks, public trust in integrity, and sincere civic engagement, became the decisive factor in defeating opponents suspected of distributing money in a structured manner. His close relationship with prominent religious figures, especially Gus Baha, further strengthened moral credibility and reinforced anti-money politics norms in the community. The study concludes that value-based social capital can effectively counteract corrupt electoral practices and offers a replicable model for promoting clean grassroots elections.

Abstract

As a cornerstone initiative designed to fundamentally restructure Indonesia’s human capital development, the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) policy was launched to combat systemic stunting and improve public health, yet its initial implementation has encountered intense friction and sharp public skepticism across digital spaces. This study evaluates the social legitimacy and public reception of this flagship national welfare program by utilizing NVivo 12 Plus to systematically collect, code, and analyze real-time netizen discourse harvested directly from platform X (formerly Twitter). The empirical findings reveal a highly adversarial and polarized digital landscape, marked by a staggering 90.91% negative sentiment profile. Content and narrative analyses show that the digital public sphere is heavily dominated by open critiques (47.37%) and mobilized "Rising Voices" (36.84%), centering on acute food poisoning incidents alongside severe anxieties regarding budget allocations and corrupt procurement mechanisms. Consequently, the government must rapidly implement transparent governance and stringent food safety protocols to prevent digital resistance from hardening into permanent civil non-compliance
