Abstract

Updo hairstyling requires both theoretical understanding and practical skills, which are not easily mastered by students through verbal explanations alone. Therefore, a learning medium that can visually present the material and allow students to review it repeatedly is needed. The aim of this research is to enhance the academic achievements attained by the learners to their fullest potential on the topic of Penataan Sanggul Pusung Tagel by utilizing video media as a learning aid. This research applies a quantitative approach and uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group praujian-pascaujian design. The development of the instructional video was Grounded in the ADDIE framework, this process encompasses five sequential phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Execution, and Assessment. The research subjects were 30 eleventh-grade students of the Skin and Hair Beauty Department at SMK Labschool Unesa 1 Surabaya. The instruments used in this study included a media validation sheet, learning outcome tests for both cognitive and psychomotor domains, and a student response questionnaire. The validation results from five validators indicated that the instructional video falls under the "highly feasible" category, with a feasibility score of 90.6%. Cognitive learning outcomes increased by 15.6% after the implementation of the video, with a t-count of 8.694 > t-table of 2.045 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average psychomotor score reached 85%, with a t-count of 76.347 > t-table of 2.045 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Student responses to the instructional video were categorized as “good” with a percentage of 77%. Based on these findings, the instructional video is considered feasible and effective in improving student learning outcomes in the Penataan Sanggul Pusung Tagel material.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan untuk menjawab kebutuhan peningkatan keterampilan kewirausahaan siswa SMA Negeri 1 Karas Magetan, yang merupakan salah satu sekolah pelaksana program Double Track Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Program Double Track dirancang untuk membekali siswa dengan keterampilan praktis, namun dalam praktiknya akses terhadap pelatihan kecantikan tradisional masih sangat terbatas. Padahal, keterampilan ini berpotensi menjadi bekal penting bagi siswa untuk menghadapi dunia kerja maupun merintis usaha mandiri. Menyadari kondisi tersebut, tim PKM Prodi S1 Pendidikan Tata Rias Universitas Negeri Surabaya menyelenggarakan pelatihan pembuatan sanggul Solo Putri. Keterampilan ini tidak hanya bernilai seni, tetapi juga memiliki peluang ekonomi yang signifikan dalam industri tata rias pengantin berbasis kearifan lokal. Pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan tahapan mengenali kebutuhan (to know), mengidentifikasi masalah dan peluang (to find), merancang program (to plan), melaksanakan pelatihan (to act), serta melakukan refleksi hasil (to reflect). Pelatihan yang dilaksanakan pada 30 Juli 2025 diikuti 20 siswa kelas XI peminatan tata rias, yang menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama proses berlangsung. Hasil kegiatan memperlihatkan respon adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan teknis siswa dalam pembuatan sanggul Solo Putri, sekaligus memperkuat apresiasi mereka terhadap seni tradisional sebagai aset budaya. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga berhasil menumbuhkan motivasi kewirausahaan, terutama dalam jasa tata rias pengantin berbasis budaya Jawa. Dengan demikian, program ini tidak hanya berkontribusi pada pelestarian budaya lokal, tetapi juga mendorong lahirnya generasi muda yang kreatif, mandiri, dan berdaya saing. Ke depan, keberlanjutan program dapat difokuskan pada penguatan manajemen usaha dan strategi pemasaran agar keterampilan siswa mampu memberikan nilai tambah ekonomi yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Indonesia's rich ethnic and cultural diversity has given rise to a variety of traditional wedding ceremonies, each steeped in unique symbolic meanings and reflecting distinct cultural identities. Among these traditions, Tea Pai, the tea-serving ritual in Chinese wedding customs, holds profound philosophical and spiritual significance. However, the challenges of modernization demand innovations that preserve the essence of this tradition while considering health aspects and increasing the practicality of serving. This study aims to introduce an innovative beverage formulation, Grecin Tea (Green With Cinnamon Tea), specifically designed for integration into the Tea Pai ceremony. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through product evaluation, which included panelist assessments of taste, aroma, and color, as well as microbiological safety testing. The results showed that Grecin Tea received a "like" rating from the majority of respondents and a "very like" rating from several panelists. Laboratory tests showed that the product was free from pathogenic microbes and suitable for consumption. Independent validators assessed the composition of taste, aroma, and color indicators as good. Visitors to the Grecin Tea booth at the 2021 RUPASAMPURNA Cipta Karya event also received positive feedback, providing "good" testimonials and affirming the product's safety. Overall, Grecin Tea successfully blends traditional values with modern demands, presenting a beverage that is not only symbolic and healthy, but also practical to prepare.

Abstract

Consumer and Makeup Artist (MUA) perceptions of flawless makeup in modified bridal makeup in Mojokertoshow a high level of appreciation. Consumers view this makeup style as capable of creating a natural,lightweight, and elegant appearance, making it in line with modern beauty trends without diminishing the charmof local culture. Meanwhile, MUAs see flawless makeup as an innovation that combines contemporary makeuptechniques with traditional touches, ensuring its relevance across various groups.This study aims to analyzepublic perception of flawless makeup in modified bridal makeup and to identify the factors that influenceconsumer interest in using the services of makeup artists (MUAs) in Mojokerto. The research employed aquantitative descriptive method, with data collected through a closed-ended questionnaire distributed to30 respondents, observations of five professional MUAs, and a literature review as supporting data. Data analysiswas conducted using SPSS software, including tests of validity, reliability, normality, heteroskedasticity, F-tests,and T-tests. The results indicate that consumers have a highly positive perception of flawless makeup. Consumerinterest is also high, influenced by the visual appeal of the makeup, effective promotion through social media, andthe quality of MUA services. Flawless makeup is perceived not only as enhancing the bride’s appearance but alsoas aligning with cultural values and the personal needs of modern brides. This study is expected to providepractical contributions for MUAs in developing service strategies and to serve as a scholarly reference for furtherresearch in the field of contemporary makeup and beauty
