Abstract

Abstrak Latar Belakang: Obesitas merupakan faktor risiko utama sindrom metabolik yang berhubungan erat dengan stres oksidatif, resistensi leptin, dan remodeling jaringan adiposa. Kombinasi terapi herbal—khususnya ekstrak etanol serai (Cymbopogon citratus)—dan latihan fisik terstruktur berpotensi mengatasi disregulasi metabolik tersebut secara sinergis. Namun, bukti ilmiah mengenai mekanisme biologis kombinasi keduanya masih sangat terbatas. Tujuan: Review ini bertujuan menganalisis secara kritis jalur mekanistik efek kombinasi ekstrak etanol C. citratus dan slow interval training terhadap kadar serum leptin, kadar MDA, dan gambaran histologi sel adiposit pada model obesitas. Metode: Narrative review sistematis terhadap 28 artikel dari database Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, dan Google Scholar (2020–2025), menggunakan kata kunci terstruktur dan kriteria inklusi–eksklusi ketat. Hasil dan Pembahasan: C. citratus mengandung senyawa bioaktif (citral, geraniol, limonene) yang terbukti menghambat peroksidasi lipid, menurunkan ekspresi TNF-α dan IL-6, serta memodulasi jalur PPARγ-adipogenesis. Slow interval training pada intensitas 50–70% HRmax mengaktifkan jalur AMPK-PGC1α, meningkatkan lipolisis, dan memperbaiki sensitivitas reseptor leptin (LepRb) melalui regulasi SOCS3. Secara sinergis, kombinasi keduanya diduga bekerja melalui reduksi stres oksidatif → normalisasi sinyal JAK2/STAT3 → pemulihan sensitivitas leptin → remodeling histomorfometri adiposit. Kesimpulan: Kombinasi C. citratus dan slow interval training memiliki potensi sinergis yang secara mekanistik dapat menurunkan MDA, memulihkan sensitivitas leptin, dan memperbaiki morfologi adiposit pada kondisi obesitas Kata Kunci: Cymbopogon citratus; leptin; malondialdehyde; slow interval training; adiposit; obesitas; stres oksidatif

Abstract

Abstract Background: Adult neurogenesis—the continuous generation of new neurons in the subgranular zone (SGZ) of the hippocampal dentate gyrus and the subventricular zone (SVZ)—represents a fundamental process of neural plasticity with implications for cognition, memory, and recovery from neurological injury. Heparin, a widely employed anticoagulant, has emerged as a pharmacological agent with pleiotropic effects on the central nervous system, including modulation of growth factor signaling pathways critical to neurogenesis. Objective: This narrative literature review aims to critically synthesize current evidence on the effects of intra-arterial heparin administration on adult neurogenesis, with particular focus on Ki-67 (cellular proliferation) and Doublecortin (DCX; immature neuron migration) as immunohistochemical biomarkers. Methods: A comprehensive search of Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases was conducted using predefined search strings. Studies published between 2015 and 2025 were prioritized, supplemented by seminal foundational works. Fifteen primary articles met inclusion criteria. Results: Converging evidence indicates that heparin exerts neuroproliferative and neuroprotective effects through its interactions with fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and the Wnt/β-catenin and NF-κB signaling pathways. Intra-arterial administration potentiates these effects by restoring microvascular perfusion, thereby facilitating the survival of Ki-67+ progenitor cells and the maturation of DCX+ neuroblasts in neurogenic niches. Conclusion: Intra-arterial heparin demonstrates significant potential as a pro-neurogenic intervention in adult rodent models, supporting its translational investigation in clinical neuropathological conditions. Standardized biomarker protocols combining Ki-67 and DCX immunolabeling are recommended for future preclinical studies. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out factors that can affecting Junior High School Students' 4C Skills such as self-efficacy, learning motivation, liveliness, mathematical literacy, and scientific literacy can significantly influence students' 4C skills. This study is quantitative research using a survey method. In addition, the effect of each construct on the 4C skills is estimated through the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). The research results show that self-efficacy, scientific literacy, learning motivation and activeness have a significant effect on 4C skills. Mathematical literacy does not have a significant effect on 4C skills, but scientific literacy has a mediating effect on the relationship between mathematical literacy and 4C skills. Therefore, it is expected that students will further improve their skills in realizing the demands of globalization.
