Abstract

ABSTRAK. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun kipait (Tithonia diversifolia) (TDTD) terhadap performa, persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal, dan bobot relatif giblet. Penelitian menggunakan 200 ekor Day Old Chick (DOC) Strain CP 707 dengan rata-rata bobot badan adalah 106,0311,99 g/ekor. Pakan perlakuan disusun berdasarkan standar kebutuhan nutrisi broiler periode starter dan grower dan diberikan mulai umur 7 hari sampai 35 hari. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan, setiap ulangan terdiri atas 10 ekor broiler. Perlakuan dalam penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: P1: Pakan kontrol (0% TDTD); P2: Pakan mengandung 4% TDTD; P3: Pakan mengandung 6% TDTD; P4: pakan mengandung 8% TDTD; dan P5: pakan mengandung 10% TDTD. Peubah yang diukur adalah performa broiler (konsumsi pakan (g/ekor); pertambahan bobot badan (g/ekor); konversi pakan); persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal, bobot relatif giblet. Hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan TDTD dalam pakan signifikan (P0,05) memengaruhi konsumsi pakan namun tidak signifikan (P0,05) memengaruhi pertambahan bobot badan, konversi, persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal dan giblet. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah TDTD dapat digunakan di dalam pakan sebanyak 4% tanpa memengaruhi performa broiler (konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan). Kemudian penggunaan sampai 10% dapat menurunkan persentase lemak abdominal dan peningkatan persentase karkas.(Effect of feeding Mexican sunflower (Tithonia diversifolia) leaf meal on performance, carcass percentage, abdominal fat, and giblet of broilers) ABSTRACT. The research aimed to see the influence of the used of Mexican sunflower (Tithonia diversifolia) leaf meal (TDLM) on the performance, the percentage of carcasses, the percentage of abdominal fat and the relative weight of giblets. The experiment used 200 day old chick (CP 707) with an average body weight of 106.03 11.99 g/bird.. The treatment diet were arranged according to the standard requirements for the starter and grower period broiler nutrition. The experimental chicken were provided dietary treatments when they were 7-day old and terminated on day 35A completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications and 10 birds in each replication was used in this experiment. Dietary treatments were: P1= control diet (0% of TDLM); P2= diet containing 4% TDLM ; P3= diet containing 6% TDLM ; P4= diet containing 8% TDLM; and P5: diet containing 10% TDLM. Variables measured were performances (feed consumption; body weight gain and feed conversion); Percentage of carcasses, percentage of abdominal fat, relative weight giblet. The results of analysis of variance showed that the used of TDLM in the diets significant effect (P0,05) on the feed consumption, but not significantly (P0,05) affect body weight gain, feed conversion, percentage of carcasses, the percentage of abdominal fat and the relative weight of giblet.. The conclusion of this study was TDLM can be used as 4% in diets without affecting the performance, the percentage of carcasses, the percentage of abdominal fat and the relative weight of giblet. Then the use of up to 10% can reduced the percentage of abdominal fat and increase the percentage of carcasses.

Abstract

Livestock areas are areas specifically designated for livestock activities or integrated as a component of farming. The Beef Cattle Livestock development program is faced with the problem of increasingly narrow business land due to increasing competition in land use which results in the land available for green animal feed becoming increasingly narrow. Lampung Province has an area of 33,575.41 Ha with hilly and mountainous topography making it suitable for livestock development, beef production of 21.18 million kg/year, and has large land potential for development. while the beef cattle population is 906,568 heads. With this potential, it is very possible for Lampung Province to become a region for developing beef cattle farming. However, the problem is that Lampung Province does not yet have mapping and standards for spatial planning or beef cattle farming areas. This research was carried out by identifying and analyzing the potential for beef cattle development in Lampung Province using 2 analyzes namely; Descriptive Analysis, and Location Quation (LQ) Analysis. LQ analysis is used to determine the areas of beef cattle livestock centers in districts/cities in Lampung Province. The results of the research show that there are 14 regencies/cities that can be used as business centers for the maintenance and development of beef cattle in Lampung Province. Of the 15 regencies/cities in Lampung Province, only Bandar Lampung City has an LQ value of less than 1. The results of this research can become a reference for the Lampung Provincial government, related agencies and other stakeholders in making policy decisions for developing beef cattle businesses in Lampung Province in the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Performa reproduksi induk sapi bali pada usaha peternakan rakyat di Kecamatan Seputih Banyak Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei menggunakan 30 ekor induk sapi bali yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai dengan Agustus 2023 di Kecamatan Seputih Banyak Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Variabel penelitian antara lain service per conception (S/C), calving interval (CI), umur pertama dikawinkan, umur birahi pertama, umur beranak pertama. Performa reproduksi induk sapi bali untuk service per conception (S/C) adalah service per conception (S/C) 1.85±0.55 tergolong baik. Calving Interval (CI) 14.5±2.1 tergolong ideal. Umur pertama dikawinkan 20.4±1.3 tergolong ideal. Umur birahi pertama 20.5±1.1  tergolong cepat. Umur beranak pertama 32.1±1.8 tergolong cepat. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini diantaranya service per conception (S/C) tergolong baik. Calving Interval (CI) tergolong ideal. Umur pertama dikawinkan tergolong ideal. Umur birahi pertama tergolong cepat. Umur beranak pertama tergolong cepat.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani Mandiri di Desa Rajabasa Baru, Kecamatan Mataram Baru, Lampung Timur merupakan salah satu kelompok peternak kambing yang mengalami permasalahan pada usaha ternaknya, seperti kematian kambing dan pertumbuhan yang tidak optimal. Permasalahan ini umumnya disebabkan oleh ketidakseimbangan asupan nutrisi, khususnya mineral dan zat tambahan pakan lainnya. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan menerapkan teknologi tepat guna berupa pembuatan Herbal Mineral Blok (HMB) sebagai inovasi suplemen pakan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan dan produktivitas kambing. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui metode sosialisasi, demonstrasi langsung, dan pendampingan kepada peternak mengenai bahan, alat, formulasi, serta teknik pembuatan HMB dari bahan lokal yang mudah diperoleh. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peternak sangat antusias dan memahami manfaat penggunaan HMB sebagai suplemen pakan alternatif serta menyatakan kesiapan untuk menerapkannya secara mandiri dalam usaha ternak. Kesimpulannya, penerapan teknologi HMB ini berpotensi menjadi solusi inovatif yang mudah diadopsi oleh peternak skala kecil dalam upaya pemberdayaan dan peningkatan efisiensi pakan kambing.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of supplementing broiler diets with andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) on the fat, cholesterol, and malondialdehyde (MDA) content in broiler meat. The experiment utilized 200 day-old chicks (DOC) of the CP 707 strain, which were fed experimental diets starting at 15 days of age. The average initial body weight was 4651.50 g per bird, and the birds were reared until 35 days of age. The research design followed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five dietary treatments and four replications per treatment, each containing 10 broilers. The dietary treatments included a basal diet (R1= 0% andaliman) and diets supplemented with 0.25% (R2), 0.5% (R3), 0.75% (R4), and 1% (R5) andaliman. The variables measured were meat fat content, cholesterol content, and MDA levels. The results indicated that andaliman supplementation had no significant effect (P0.05) on the fat, cholesterol, or MDA content of broiler meat. The observed ranges were 140.61161.61 mg/100 g for fat content, 140.61161.61 mg/100 g for cholesterol content, and 8.118.56 g/g for MDA levels. In conclusion, the addition of andaliman to broiler diets did not significantly influence the fat, cholesterol, or MDA content in the meat.

Abstract

The devotion aims to increase the capability of the farmers at Berkah Mandiri Farm regarding feed supply technology by optimizing the availability of agro-industrial waste by products. The livestock business managed by the group focuses on small ruminant commodities that is Goats and Sheep. Community service are carried out through an approach method (Consuling) and active discussion (Forum Group Discussion) with the head of the livestock business manager. Informations were obtained in the devotion is also descriptively analyzed by utilizing various secondary data obtained at service locations. The location for the activity is Pejambon Village, Negeri Katon District, Pesawaran Regency. The results of FGD show that the level of knowledge for breeders is relatively high in livestock rearing management and relatively low in terms of feed science and technology, especially through the use of agro-industrial waste. Based on the activities carried out, it can be concluded that Berkah Mandiri Farm really needs assistance efforts in the field related to various waste processing science and technology in order to increase the availability of alternative feed sources and increase the productivity of small ruminant livestock.
