Abstract

ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the growth performance and carcass quality of three different Kampung chicken species (KUB Kampung Chicken, Merawang Chicken, and In-ovo Feeding Kampung Chicken). This research was conducted at the CV. Bittara Wanua in Soppeng Regency. The study followed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and five replication plots. Each replication plot contained 5 chickens.  The treatments namely: P1 uses KUB chicken, P2 uses Merawang chicken, and P3 uses Kampung chicken from in-ovo feeding. The parameters observed were growth performance including body weight gain, feed consumption, and feed conversion, while carcass quality includes carcass percentage, breast percentage, upper thigh percentage, lower thigh percentage, wing percentage, and back percentage. The results showed that treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain, feed conversion, breast percentage, lower thigh percentage, and back percentage. Still, they had no effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, carcass percentage, upper thigh percentage, and wing percentage. It could be concluded that KUB chicken has the best growth performance and carcass quality because it has fast growth, low feed conversion, and a high percentage of carcass parts of the breast compared to other types of native chickens.

Abstract

The community service program aims to increase the capacity of goat farming in Toari District, Kolaka Regency, with a focus on increasing farmers' knowledge and skills in livestock management. Through a series of ongoing training and mentoring activities, breeders are equipped with knowledge about livestock management, selecting superior seeds, feed management, livestock health care, financial management and marketing. Program implementation was carried out in an interactive and participatory manner, followed by regular assistance, which resulted in significant improvements in understanding, skills and welfare of farmers, as well as goat livestock productivity. In addition to providing individual benefits, the program also strengthens cross-sector collaboration, creating the potential to improve the overall sustainability of the goat farming sector in the region

Abstract

Nilai Ho dan He ayam kampung in ovo feeding masing-masing sebesar 0,133 dan 0,1289. Ayam kampung in ovo feeding berada dalam keseimbangan Hukum Herdy-Weinberg dengan nilai X2 = 0,0370

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Sausage is a processed meat food that is susceptible to counterfeiting by mixing non-halal meat, so a valid, fast and cheap halal authentication method is needed for sausages. This study aims to determine the specific species genes of Cytochrome-b in target DNA amplification as a halal authentication method in sausages. In this study, the samples used were beef sausage, chicken sausage, and pork sausage. The stages of this research consisted of DNA purification, measuring DNA quality, amplifying object DNA using Cytochrome-b, electrophoresis, and visualization of the gel documentation. The DNA purification results from beef sausage, chicken sausage, and pork sausage respectively obtained concentrations of 3 (ng/l), 2.6 (ng/l), and 2.8 (ng/l), and purity of 1.15, 0.76, and 0.88. Meanwhile, DNA amplification produced fragments with lengths for beef sausage, chicken sausage, and pork sausage, namely the Cytochrome-b gene 274 bp, 227 bp, and 398 bp. Based on this study, it's concluded that the Cytochrome-b genes could amplify target DNA from beef sausage, chicken sausage, and pork sausage so that they could be used as gene markers for authenticating halal sausages.(Amplifikasi DNA Spesifik Spesies sebagai metode autentikasi halal pada sosis berdasarkan penanda genetic)ABSTRAK.
