Abstract

Cognitivist learning theory emphasizes that learning is an active mental process involving experience and interaction with the environment. This qualitative descriptive study aims to conceptually examine the implications of cognitivist learning theory for Islamic Religious Education at the junior high school level in literature review. The findings reveal that cognitivist theory remains highly applicable in designing adaptive and meaningful learning strategies, particularly through methods such as discovery learning and problem-based learning. Moreover, understanding students’ cognitive structures enables educators to tailor materials according to developmental stages. The study recommends integrating cognitive theory into PAI instruction to enhance learning effectiveness and promote deeper comprehension of religious values.

Abstract

This article discusses the dynamics of acculturation between Islam and Malay culture in a historical perspective, highlighting adat continuity and value transformation. Islamic acculturation in the archipelago did not erase local customs, but rather provided a new foundation based on Islamic values, as reflected in the principle of “adat bersendi syarak, syarak bersendi Kitabullah”. The process of Islam was peaceful through trade, proselytization, education and marriage, with a flexible approach to local culture. Value transformation involved replacing animist and dynamist beliefs with the concept of tawhid, which emphasizes the oneness of God. A Malay-Islamic identity was born from this acculturation, reflected in art, literature, music and customs, creating a unique and harmonious cultural expression. This article concludes that the acculturation of Islam and Malay culture has shaped a rich and diverse civilization, where Islamic values are integrated in Malay cultural life.

Abstract

This article explores the dynamics of Islamic education politics in the context of globalization, focusing on curriculum development in the Education Study Program at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Using literature review and descriptive analysis, the study reveals that globalization demands higher education curricula, especially at UIN Raden Fatah, to integrate both global and national standards, such as the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and National Higher Education Standards. The curriculum must equip students with scientific and technological skills while preserving Islamic values and local wisdom, such as Malay culture. The main challenge is balancing adaptation to global demands with the preservation of Islamic identity, amidst concerns that globalization may erode local values. In conclusion, curriculum development at UIN Raden Fatah should be adaptive and inclusive to produce globally competent graduates who retain their Islamic character and local cultural identity.

Abstract

Innovation in education is closely related to continuous change, aiming to enhance learning effectiveness and achieve educational goals. Particularly in Islamic education, the focus is on improving learning innovations to help students master subjects efficiently. In the era of globalization, educational innovation plays a crucial role in shaping effective teaching and learning processes. This study explores the process of educational innovation through three key stages: decision-making, diffusion, and dissemination. Decision-making involves evaluating and accepting or rejecting new educational approaches. Diffusion refers to the communication process in spreading innovative ideas, while dissemination ensures the systematic distribution of innovations for broader implementation. This research employs a library research method, analyzing relevant theories from academic sources such as journals, books, and previous studies. The findings highlight that successful educational innovation depends on well-structured decision-making, effective diffusion strategies, and comprehensive dissemination processes. Additionally, teachers play a vital role in implementing educational innovation, as their involvement significantly impacts the success of new learning methods. Innovation in education must align with Indonesia's educational needs, incorporating curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and technological integration. The structured adoption of innovation ensures that education remains relevant, efficient, and adaptable to changing times
