Abstract

Conservatism, combined with a positivist view of the law, causes the law to become rigid and merely an artificial construct. Legal actors, who should be reformist agents of change, now focus solely on rules. The implications of this static application of the law by legal actors, particularly in relation to legal counselling methods, hinder legal counselling programs aimed at building public legal awareness. Based on this, it is necessary to find a legal counselling method that is more relevant to current times—one that aligns with public aspirations, is creative, innovative, and can be effectively implemented in the community. The problem formulation in this study is how to contextualize progressive law in designing a hybrid legal counselling method as an effort to build public legal awareness. The purpose of this study is to explore and contextualize progressive law in designing such a method. This study employs an empirical legal research method with a sociological-juridical approach. The research was conducted in West Kalimantan Province, focusing on Bengkayang Regency and Landak Regency. The conclusions of this study were drawn deductively. This study concludes that the contextualization of progressive law within the hybrid legal counselling method in West Kalimantan must be based on legal awareness and the needs of the community. This method aims to liberate society from conservative rules. Additionally, the effectiveness of this method is highly dependent on the ability of legal counsellors to continuously innovate and progress while upholding legal ethics.

Abstract

The phenomenon of low legal awareness remains a common characteristic of society in Indonesia, particularly in the province of West Kalimantan. This demonstrates the need for new innovations in legal education methods that are relevant to the current digital era. This study aims to conceptualize a web-based legal education model through the development of the SAHABAT (Sobat Hukum Kalimantan Barat) application as a responsive and inclusive digital medium to improve public legal literacy. The research method used a socio-legal approach with a qualitative descriptive method, involving literature studies, in-depth interviews, and field observations on the need for access to legal information. The data used in this study was primary data obtained directly from legal educators at the West Kalimantan Provincial Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The results of the study show that the community needs an outreach platform that is easily accessible, interactive, and contextual to legal issues. The SAHABAT application is designed to provide popular legal information, online consultations, and topic-based legal education through interactive features. This study confirms that digitizing legal counseling through platforms such as SAHABAT can be a means of helping to increase legal awareness and community participation in realizing a responsive legal culture. This study recommends the integration of the SAHABAT application into the national legal counseling strategy as part of the digital transformation of public services in the legal field.

Abstract

Abstrak:This study investigates the influence of reward and punishment policies on employee performance at PT. Rezeki Perkasa Sejahtera Lestari, specifically examining the mediating role of perceived justice. Ineffective leadership, often stemming from poorly managed reward and punishment systems, significantly impacts employee performance. A quantitative approach was employed, collecting data from 35 employees via questionnaires distributed through Google Forms. Path analysis using SmartPLS 8.0 was utilized for data analysis. The findings reveal that while reward and punishment directly show a weak and non-significant impact on employee performance, perceived justice positively and significantly influences performance (H3 accepted). Reward also shows a weak but positive influence on perceived justice (H4 rejected at =0.05, but with a weak significance tendency at =0.10), suggesting an indirect effect on performance through perceived fairness. Conversely, punishment's impact on both performance (H2 rejected) and perceived justice (H5 rejected) was found to be insignificant, indicating potential inefficiencies in its application. This research highlights the critical importance of fairness in human resource management and recommends that companies prioritize the perceived justice of their reward and punishment systems to enhance employee performance effectively. Future research should verify this model in similar companies and explore the specific mediation mechanisms of perceived justice.
