Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the readability of news texts on Kompas.com as teaching material for class 8 Indonesian SMP/MTs. This research is a literature study. The data in this research are 30 Kompas.com news texts collected using documentation techniques. Readability level was measured using Fry charts. Steps to analyze data include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data was carried out by theoretical triangulation. The results showed that two texts were at the 7th grade reader level, five texts were at the 8th grade reader level, six texts were at the 9th grade level, eleven texts were at the 10th grade reader level, five texts were at the 11th grade reader level, and one text was at the 11th grade level. reader class level 12. The results of this research can be used as an alternative teaching material in schools for Indonesian language subjects, especially news text material for grade 8 SMP/MTs.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keterbacaan teks berita di Kompas.com sebagai bahan ajar mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia kelas 8 SMP/MTs. Penelitian ini merupakan studi pustaka. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 teks berita Kompas.com yang dikumpulkan dengan teknik dokumentasi. Tingkat keterbacaan diukur menggunakan grafik Fry. Langkah menganalisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dua teks berada pada tingkat pembaca kelas 7, lima teks pada tingkat pembaca kelas 8, enam teks berada pada tingkat kelas 9, sebelas teks pada tingkat kelas pembaca 10, lima teks pada tingkat kelas pembaca 11, dan satu teks berada pada tingkat kelas pembaca 12. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif bahan ajar di sekolah untuk mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia, khususnya materi teks berita kelas 8 SMP/MTs.

Abstract

Among the seven prefixes in Indonesian, meN- is the most productive one. It is a fact that many users of Indonesian still incorrectly apply such prefix. Pre meN- is used to make verb. Morphologically, prefix meN- is combined with basic word. However, sometimes the morphological process is misunderstood, so the derived word is incorrect.

Abstract

The teaching materials is importat in the learning process, especially in Indonesian language for foreign speakers (BIPA). The teaching materials can be used as a learning resource and to reduce the learners’ cultural shock. Culinary is the culture that is integrated into BIPA teaching materials, which is developed at the A1 level with the theme of Tulungagung local culinary. They are presented in an interesting, interactive, effective, and easy to be used in everyday life. The research and development of teaching materials refers to the Borg and Gall models. The results of the study are obtained from the scores of the feasibility analysis of teaching materials and response tests as well as verbal data in the form of written data, such as comments, criticisms, and suggestions from material experts, media experts, and foreign learners. In the first stage, the feasibility test results of teaching materials received 82.69%, meaning that teaching materials can be used with improvement. In the second phase of the feasibility test, teaching materials got 98.56%. Furthermore, the foreign learner response test reached 89%. Thus, the BIPA textbook with the theme of local tulungagung culinary is worthy to use, and included in the valid category.

Abstract

Gender-Based Language Politeness in Indonesian Language Learning Communication is very important to do because it can help understand how gender differences affect the use of language and politeness in learning communication. In addition, it can increase the effectiveness of Indonesian language learning and reduce gender gaps in education. The descriptive qualitative research aims to explain the existence of the principle of politeness of students language to teachers based on gender in Indonesian language learning communication in class X of Islamic Santitham Foundation School. Direct observation and recording are data collection techniques and data analysis starting form recording and direct observation for three months with an analysis structure, namely, identifying data, classifying data, clarifying data and conclusions. The results of the study stated that male students to female teachers are more often obedient in language than to male teachers. Likewise, female students are more often obedient in language to female teachers than to male teachers. The communication of impoliteness to male teachers using ordinary communication. Both findings are also influenced by the factor of separation or distance between men and women in the scope of Islamic Santitham Foundation School.

Abstract

Eksistensi bahasa Indonesia di kancah dunia perlu didukung dengan meningkatkan martabat bahasa Indonesia. Pemartabatan bahasa Indonesia dapat dilakukan melalui internalisasi dan internasionalisasi bahasa Indonesia melalui Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri (PTKIN) se-Jawa Madura. This State Islamic Religious College has succeeded in organizing the BIPA program as an effort to dignify the Indonesian language. Through the BIPA program, students are equipped with a good and correct understanding and use of Indonesian language. This research aims to describe the dignity of the Indonesian language and the implementation of BIPA learning in PTKIN throughout Java and Madura. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study design. The data source for this research is the implementation of the BIPA program at PTKINs throughout Java and Madura which have the Indonesian Tadris study program. The data obtained was then analyzed using interactive data analysis. The results of the research show that the BIPA program has been implemented by all PTKIN throughout Madura Java and is presented in specialization courses in the Indonesian Language Tadris Study Program. Through the BIPA program, foreign students studying at PTKIN are trained their Indonesian language skills in the matriculation program before entering college.

Abstract

Beberapa bahasa daerah di Indonesia telah mengalami penurunan vitalitas, bahkan sebagian di antaranya sudah punah. Bahasa Jawa yang memiliki jumlah penutur terbesar pun dapat berpotensi mengalami kondisi yang sama apabila tidak dipertahankan secara berkelanjutan. Salah satu faktor penyebab bahasa Jawa mulai terpinggirkan adalah maraknya konsumsi makanan impor yang lebih diminati generasi milenial sehingga mereka semakin jauh dari kosakata makanan tradisional berbahasa Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran wisata kuliner tradisional dalam mempertahankan eksistensi bahasa Jawa di Tulungagung. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan etnografi melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan pemilik usaha kuliner, serta analisis wacana terkait penggunaan bahasa dalam promosi dan interaksi antara pelaku usaha, wisatawan, dan masyarakat lokal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa Jawa tetap digunakan secara konsisten dalam penamaan makanan tradisional, komunikasi transaksi antara penjual dan pembeli, serta narasi sejarah kuliner yang diwariskan kepada pengunjung. Penggunaan bahasa Jawa tersebut memperkuat identitas budaya lokal sekaligus mendorong pewarisan bahasa kepada generasi muda. Penelitian juga mengidentifikasi 22 jenis kuliner tradisional yang masih bertahan, dengan praktik berbahasa yang memadukan antara Jawa Krama dan Ngoko serta campur kode dengan bahasa Indonesia sesuai kebutuhan komunikasi. Temuan tersebut menegaskan bahwa wisata kuliner tradisional di Tulungagung tidak hanya berperan dalam melestarikan warisan gastronomi, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai media strategis untuk pemertahanan dan revitalisasi bahasa Jawa di tengah arus globalisasi.
