Abstract

Nosocomial infections are a serious issue in Indonesia, with a prevalence of 6–16%. These infections increase morbidity, mortality, hospital stays, and healthcare costs. Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) in hospitals is crucial to reducing the risk of transmission among patients, healthcare workers, and the community. However, IPC program implementation faces challenges such as limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and noncompliance with protocols. This literature review analyzes the implementation of IPC programs, healthcare workers' adherence to hand hygiene, and factors influencing program success. Data were collected through journal searches using keywords “Nosocomial Infection Prevention,” AND “Infection Control in Hospitals,” OR “Hand Hygiene Compliance.”  Findings indicate that Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs and hand hygiene practices effectively reduce nosocomial infections. However, challenges persist in implementing and maintaining IPC programs. Factors such as knowledge, motivation, supervision, and workload play a critical role in determining the success of these initiatives in healthcare facilities

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Hospital is a crucial component of the current healthcare system and is in charge of supplying, preserving, and advancing community members' health using various resource. Networks are used to organize the numerous, complex health systems of today. Because of the partners' inconsistent behavior and lack of coordination, these networks are frequently underutilized. Each facility or even by industry or service, optimizes care quality and controls costs locally. A systematic global approach could enhance the general under optimization that emerges from this local concentration. The competition in the current global economy is between supply networks rather than enterprises. The comparison of supply chain performance indicators may last a very long time. This research uses a narrative review approach. There are a total of 23 papers used from databases from Science Direct, ProQuest, Scopus, SpringerLink, Hindawi, Google Scholar, JSTOR, and Emerald Insight. A supply chain's of medical consumables success is influenced by many internal and external factors such as exchange of information, enduring relationships, collaboration, and process integration. Agility becomes increasingly crucial to maintaining cooperation and teamwork, improving patients' experiences every time. Various elements influence the supply chain for medical consumables. Therefore, it is crucial to identify and evaluate the key variables influencing the healthcare supply chain for the medical consumables process and examine the strategies included in this review.

Abstract

The main benefit of exclusive breastfeeding is that it supports both brain and physical development in infants. This is because, from birth to six months of age, babies should receive nutrition exclusively from breast milk. According to the 2018 Basic Health Research, only 37.3% of infants in Indonesia received exclusive breastfeeding, while in North Sulawesi Province, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in 2018 reached 64.95%. This relatively low percentage is primarily due to socio-cultural factors and a lack of awareness among pregnant mothers regarding the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. One effective method to improve maternal health knowledge is through education. This study aims to assess the difference in maternal knowledge before and after an intervention in the form of a health education session on exclusive breastfeeding in Lansot Village, Tomohon City, North Sulawesi Province. The intervention was conducted on August 26, 2024, in the form of an educational session on exclusive breastfeeding. Post-test results indicated a significant improvement in the knowledge of mothers who attended the session regarding the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0–6 months.

Abstract

Mineral water delivery drivers face various occupational risks, including fatigue, accidents, and musculoskeletal disorders due to long working hours and repetitive tasks. However, awareness of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in this informal sector remains low. This community service program aimed to improve drivers’ knowledge and awareness of OSH through interactive education, demonstrations, and ergonomic simulations. The activity involved 33 drivers and included a pre-test and post-test to assess knowledge improvement in four areas: risk awareness, PPE usage, ergonomic practices, and general OSH concepts. Results showed a significant increase in average scores—from 53.2 (pre-test) to 79.2 (post-test), with a gain of 26 points. The program proved effective in enhancing OSH understanding among participants. By using participatory and practical approaches, the initiative successfully raised awareness of workplace safety and encouraged safer work behavior. This effort highlights the importance of extending OSH education to informal workers to support a safer and healthier work environment
