Abstract

The Korean Look makeup trend has become a popular symbol of beauty in various countries, particularly in Asia, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the role of the Korean Look makeup trend as a symbol of modern beauty in the perceptions of PKK students. Korean makeup styles, which emphasize a natural and feminine impression, are now widely adopted as a form of self-expression. The research method used a descriptive quantitative approach with 50 PKK student respondents using a Likert scale questionnaire (1–5) covering five main perceptual aspects. The results showed that students had a positive perception of the Korean Look 5. The most dominant aspect was the influence of social media (78%), while suitability with Indonesian facial characteristics showed mixed responses. In conclusion, the Korean Look has become a symbol of modern beauty influenced by popular culture and social media, but still needs to be adapted to local characteristics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan produk tata rias karakter tiga dimensi Elang Jawa melalui eksplorasi bahan alternatif menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development). Validasi dilakukan oleh tiga ahli mencapai 93,33% tata rias serta uji coba kelompok kecil kepada 15 mahasiswa pendidikan tata kecantikan menggunakan instrumen skala Likert 1-5. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan rumus presentase kelayakan. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukan tingkat kelayakan sebesar 88,36% dalam kategori “Sesuai”, sedangkan penilaian mahasiswa mencapai 93,33% dalam kategori “Sangat Sesuai”. Temuan ini menunjukan bahwa bahan alternatif seperti tepung maizena, petrolatum jelly, lem PVAC, dan tisu basah dapat menghasilkan struktur prostetik yang realistis, ekonomis, dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran tata rias karakter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan produk tata rias fantasi berbasis flora carica khas Wonosobo menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D). Validasi dilakukan oleh tiga ahli tata rias dan 15 mahasiswa tata kecantikan menggunakan instrumen skala Likert 1–5. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan rumus persentase kelayakan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan tingkat kelayakan sebesar 93% dalam kategori sangat baik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa potensi flora lokal dapat dikembangkan secara sistematis sebagai sumber ide inovatif dalam tata rias fantasi sekaligus memperkaya pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

The beauty industry is growing rapidly as public interest in appearance and self-confidence increases, leading to a rising demand for makeup artist (MUA) services. In this context, creativity and professionalism are crucial factors for MUAs to produce high-quality makeup and provide satisfactory service to clients. This study aims to understand the strategies of creativity and professionalism employed by makeup artists to enhance the quality of beauty services. The method used is descriptive qualitative research, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that service strategies such as understanding client needs, effective communication, personal branding, and the use of social media can enhance customer trust and loyalty. Additionally, mastery of makeup techniques such as complexion, contouring, highlighting, color palette selection, and adapting makeup looks to face shapes and occasions significantly influences the quality of the final makeup result. By combining creativity, technical skills, and a professional attitude, makeup artists can improve the quality of beauty services and strengthen their competitiveness in an increasingly competitive beauty industry.
