Abstract

Abstract

Genital personal hygine is an important part because if a girl is not enough to maintain the cleanliness of her reproductive organs, there is a risk of infection in the reproductive organs. The introduction of personal hygiene needs to be given starting early, one of them with the storytelling method. The purpose of this study was to determine personal hygiene behavior before and after storytelling was given. The method used is a one group pretest-post test. Respondents in this study were 34 female students at SDN Junrejo 01 Batu, selected by purposive sampling. Data collected using a questionnaire that has been designed to test its validity and reliability. The results showed that before storytelling 64.7% of students had behaviors in the poor category and 35.3% in the moderate category. After storytelling, 70.6% of students had behaviors in the category and 26.5% were in the moderate category, and 3% in the poor category. The results of statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon signed rank test showed p value <0.001 which means that there is an influence of the storytelling method on the increase in personal genital hygiene behavior at SDN Junrejo 01 Batu. Provision of health education needs to be done by health workers periodically as an effort to promote reproductive health in adolescents so that adolescents can behave properly in maintaining reproductive health. Abstract

Menopause is a cycle that all women will experience. During menopause, many symptoms are associated with reduced estrogen production. Menopause also affects cholesterol levels, causing an increase in LDL, which can narrow and clog arteries so that blood flow becomes blocked and consequently increases blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of giving pepino fruit to changes in blood pressure in postmenopausal women with primary hypertension. The design used is a pre-experiment with a one group pre test post test design. The total population is 26 postmenopausal women aged 45-60 years. This study used purposive sampling technique and obtained a sample of 21 respondents. Respondents who entered the inclusion criteria were given the treatment of giving pepino fruit for each rice to be consumed after breakfast for 7 consecutive days. The instruments used to collect data are mercury sphygmomanometer and questionnaire. The results showed that there was a decrease in systolic blood pressure by 62.5% and diastolic blood pressure by 74.2%. The results of the statistical paired t-test with a significant level of 0.05 and dk = 20 have obtained t-count > t-table (systole = 8.05> 1.72 and diastole = 8.22> 1.72) there is an effect administration of pepino fruit on changes in blood pressure in postmenopausal women with primary hypertension. Purple pepino fruit contains potassium which can lower blood pressure by blocking calcium channels. Thus, health workers are expected to pay more attention to the health of postmenopausal women by means of early detection, counseling and treatment of hypertension. Abstract

Iron tablets are one of the government's initiatives to prevent anemia, given the high prevalence of anemia among women aged 15 to 34 (48.9%). Adolescent girls still consume very less, however this varies by area. Data from the Malang City Health Office in 2022 shows that SMAN 8 Malang has consumption coverage in the 50-80% range. Perception has an impact on the choice to consume. The health belief model provides insight into the perception (HBM). The purpose of this study is to examine the connection between teenage girls' use of iron supplements and their HBM. Correlational analytics was employed in the study technique using a cross-sectional methodology. A proportionate random sample approach yielded 136 pupils in the population, which consisted of 10th graders. This research employed chi-square test data analysis, compliance with TTD consumption, and HBM surveys as its tools. While there was no significant correlation between the consumption of iron tablets in adolescent girls and perceived severity (p=0.303) and perceived vulnerability (p=0.330), there was a significant correlation between perceived benefits (p=0.000), barriers (p=0.006), cues to action (p=0.036), and self-efficacy (p=0.000). According to the study's findings, teenage girls who take iron pills have an association with their perceptions of the advantages, obstacles, signals to take action, and self-efficacy.s

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical transition stage to adulthood. Reproductive health issues such as early marriage and stunting are still a challenge. This activity aims to empower adolescents through peer educator training and the formation of peer tutors for skills related to becoming peer educators on reproductive health and maturation of marriage age in Gedog Wetan Village, Turen District, Malang Regency. The empowerment model used is the Locality Development Model, which involves the active participation of local communities, namely adolescents. The empowerment method uses Participatory Rural Appraisal and group discussions, role-play, demonstrations, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The number of adolescents involved in the training were male and female adolescents aged 15-19 years, totaling 25 people. The instrument used was an observation sheet to assess the skills of peer educators in providing education. The program implementation was carried out for 4 days, including training and mentoring. The training material includes peer educator material, reproductive health in adolescents, and maturation of marriage age, followed by demonstrations and simulations of educational media (educational games), demonstrations, and re-demonstrations on how to conduct health counseling to adolescents using media made by the service team. The results of the activity showed that the results of observations of the skills in conducting peer educators showed that most of the trainees were considered “competent” in providing education, especially in aspects such as the selection of topics and educational media, the ability to deliver material, the ability to provide opportunities to ask questions, motivational skills (inviting participants to interact with each other), and skills in conducting evaluations. The formation of peer tutor groups is an indicator of success in empowering adolescents as agents of change.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are particularly vulnerable to anemia as they undergo rapid growth during puberty, which increases their iron requirements to support this growth. Several factors contribute to the occurrence of anemia, including the habitual consumption of iron-inhibiting substances such as caffeine and poor sleep quality. This study aimed to investigate the effects of caffeine consumption habits and sleep quality on hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls aged 15-18 at SMAN 8 Malang. The research design was analytical with a cross-sectional method. The sampling technique used was two-stage clustering random sampling. Data collection involved the use of the SQ FFQ, PSQI questionnaires, and the Point Care of Testing (POCT) method for hemoglobin level analysis, which was analyzed using Spearman rank correlation and logistic regression tests. The results of the Spearman rank correlation test revealed a relationship between caffeine consumption habits and hemoglobin levels (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05), sleep quality and hemoglobin levels (p-value = 0.005 < 0.05), and no relationship between caffeine consumption and sleep quality (p-value = 0.646 > 0.05). The logistic regression test showed a significant effect of caffeine consumption habits and sleep quality on hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls (significant value 0.000 < 0.05).

Abstract

One of the changes in the physiology of pregnant women is changes in blood circulation. The most common circulatory system problem is hypertension. Pregnancy is one of the risk factors for high blood pressure or hypertension. In pregnancy there is an increase in sensitivity to vasopressor substances which leads to an increased risk of hypertension. Preecampsia is the most common hypertensive condition and is the second leading cause of maternal mortality in Indonesia. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of prenatal exercise on blood pressure in pregnant women at the Kraton Pasuruan Health Center. The research design used Quasi Experiment with one group pre test-post test design. The population amounted to 12 pregnant women using purposive sampling technique obtained a sample of 10 pregnant women. The research instrument used an observation sheet to measure blood pressure before and after prenatal exercise which was done once a week for 4 weeks. From the results of the Wilcoxon test, the p value = 0.005 (p < 0.05) that there is an effect of prenatal exercise on the mean blood pressure after prenatal exercise, blood pressure is lower than the mean before prenatal exercise. Prenatal exercise is a physical exercise that increases blood flow and dilates blood vessels so that it is likely to reduce blood pressure in pregnant women. Therefore, pregnant women are recommended to do prenatal exercises regularly.
