Abstract

A fish auction place is a special facility for auctioning fish caught by fishermen with the aim of creating an efficient and transparent system in sales. The auction process is carried out with manual mechanisms or digital technology to determine prices fairly. The importance of fish auctions to stabilize prices, increase fishermen's income, and support the conservation of fish resources. This study aims to determine how the opportunity to develop a Fish Auction Place (TPI) in Koto XI Tarusan District, South Pesisir Regency using qualitative approaches and descriptive methods. Research data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at TPI Carocok Anau and Ampang Pulai. The main informants consisted of fishermen and fishermen leaders who played a role in TPI's opportunities in the region. The results showed that TPI in Koto XI Tarusan District has great potential to support the local economy. However, inadequate infrastructure and access barriers are obstacles. The government needs to pay attention to the development of TPI, including infrastructure improvements and accessibility for fishermen. Transactions at TPI are large-scale by involving agents as intermediaries. The existence of fish demolition areas such as Batu Kalang and Muara is important in supporting the fishermen's economy. Cooperation between the government and fishermen is needed to improve TPI's prospects as a center for marketing local fish and support sustainable regional economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Determine the level of traffic noise in the commercial areas of SJS Plaza Padang and Pasar Nanggalo. (2) Assess the impact of vegetation in reducing traffic noise levels. This research employs a descriptive quantitative approach. The population in this study consists of commercial areas in Nanggalo District, Padang City, where vegetation is available as the research object. The sample includes two different commercial locations: SJS Plaza Padang and Pasar Nanggalo. Data collection was conducted at two points in each location (in front of the vegetation and behind the vegetation), resulting in four measurement points in total. The research finding: (1) Traffic Noise Levels: The noise level in the SJS Plaza Padang commercial area ranges between 81.1 dB – 87.3 dB. The lowest noise level at SJS Plaza Padang is 81.1 dB, occurring on a holiday morning, while the highest noise level is 87.3 dB, occurring on a holiday afternoon. The noise level in the Pasar Nanggalo commercial area ranges between 73 dB – 80.1 dB. The lowest noise level at Pasar Nanggalo is 73 dB, occurring on a holiday afternoon, while the highest noise level is 80.1 dB, occurring on a weekday morning. (2) Effect of Vegetation on Noise Reduction The regression test results indicate a small effect of vegetation on noise reduction, with a coefficient of -0.001 between leaf canopy volume and traffic noise reduction. This means that every 1 m³ increase in leaf canopy volume only reduces noise levels by 0.001 dB. Therefore, combining vegetation with barriers such as concrete walls or sound fences, along with strategic urban design, can provide a more effective and sustainable solution for reducing traffic noise in larger areas.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1) To analyze the dynamics of residential land development in Padang Panjang City in the 2015-2024 period, 2) To evaluate the suitability of existing residential land in 2024 with the applicable Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with a spatial analysis approach. This study integrates descriptive statistics and spatial analysis to map and analyze geographic data. In this study, descriptive analysis is used to describe the data, while spatial analysis is used to map and analyze land development and then identify its suitability for residential land based on spatial patterns. The results show that the area of settlement in Padang Panjang City experienced a significant increase of 134.42 Ha from 520.02 Ha in 2015 to 654.44 Ha in 2024, along with a decrease in the area of forest/dense vegetation and rice fields/fields. The land cover classification accuracy test reached 94% Kappa Coefficient for both years, confirming the reliability of the data. However, an evaluation of residential land suitability with the Padang Panjang City Spatial Plan (RTRW) for 2012-2032 revealed serious deviations, with 101.67 hectares of residential land not in accordance with its intended use, occupying riverbanks, plantations, rice fields, green open spaces (RTH), and landslide-prone areas. These deviations are spread across all sub-districts, with the highest percentages in Silaing Bawah, Kampung Manggis, and Koto Panjang.
