Abstract

The high incidence of malnutrition in toddlers is caused by an unbalanced diet, poor parenting, and a lack of physical activity, which has an impact on the suboptimal growth and development of toddlers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diet, parenting, and physical activity on nutritional status in toddlers. This study used a correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 53 respondents with a sample of 47 respondents, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through the use of questionnaires, and the analysis used multivariate regression statistical tests. The results showed that most respondents had a poor diet (70.2%), almost all applied democratic parenting (87.2%), most did toddler physical activities well (95.8%), and the majority had poor nutritional status (74.4%). There was a significant relationship between diet patterns and nutritional status of toddlers at the Bungku Health Center, Morowali Regency (p = 0.001 <0.05). However, no significant relationship was found between parenting methods (p = 0.434 > 0.05) and toddler physical activity (p = 0.682 > 0.05) with the nutritional status of toddlers in the same location. Diet patterns, parenting methods, and physical activity are among the factors that influence nutritional status in toddlers, thus having an impact on child growth and development.

Abstract

Introduction: Nutritional problems are crucial in human life. Malnutrition affects health by increasing morbidity, mortality, and disability while also reducing a country's human resource quality. Objective: This study analyzes the relationship between maternal complementary feeding patterns and child growth among children aged 6 to 24 months in Bago Village. Methods: This research employs an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 80 respondents were selected using accidental sampling. The independent variable is maternal knowledge about complementary feeding, while the dependent variable is child growth. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rho test to examine the relationship between the two variables. Result: Findings indicate that 43 mothers (53.8%) demonstrated good complementary feeding practices, while 71 children (88.8%) exhibited good growth. The Spearman Rho test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of H1. This confirms a significant correlation between maternal complementary feeding patterns and child growth. Conclusion: proper complementary feeding is essential for meeting toddlers' nutritional needs. Adequate nutrition supports optimal growth and development, while growth barriers may manifest as weight discrepancies relative to age.

Abstract

The discharge summary form has an important function for the claims process and the follow-up treatment required by patients in the hospital. The method in this study is qualitative descriptive. The data analysis carried out is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. The data validity test in this study is Data Triangulation. The policy in returning the incomplete return summary has not been implemented by the medical record officer because it focuses on the number of return medical record documents which are then given to the unit in charge of the claim process. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the four elements that can cause incompleteness in filling out the discharge summary must be evaluated and followed up so as not to hinder in providing services to patients at Lawang Medika Hospital.

Abstract

Background: Healthcare Manguharjo, a key primary facility in Madiun City, faces challenges like long wait times and limited referrals. Purpose: This study examines how service quality and demographics affect patient satisfaction, aiming to improve care and ensure equitable access for underserved communities. Methods: A cross-sectional survey of 91 patients used SERVQUAL questionnaires to assess five service quality dimensions. Spearman correlation examined relationships with demographics and satisfaction, ensuring ethical protocols and participant confidentiality. Results: Service quality moderately correlated with satisfaction (r=0.308, p=0.003). Demographics showed weaker but significant influence (r=0.258, p=0.013). Patients praised staff friendliness and efficiency but highlighted needs for improved communication (e.g., clearer medical instructions) and facility cleanliness. Service quality significantly drives satisfaction, while demographics play secondary roles. Strengthening communication, modernizing facilities, and reducing administrative delays are recommended to address gaps. Conclusion: Future studies should explore longitudinal impacts of these interventions. Prioritizing patient-centered improvements can enhance Healthcare Manguharjo’s community health outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is a common illness caused by viral or bacterial infections, often perceived as non-threatening. ARI symptoms range from mild to severe and depend on pathogens, environmental factors, and host immunity. Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors associated with ARI symptoms in toddlers, focusing on home environmental conditions in Babadan Village, Tulungagung Regency. Methods: The study was conducted in 2023–2024 using a cross-sectional design with 60 respondents. Participants were mothers of toddlers showing ARI symptoms, living in Babadan, and willing to participate. Data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets assessing home ventilation, air pollution, smoking behaviors, and ARI symptoms. Statistical analysis with Chi-Square was used to evaluate the relationship between environmental factors and ARI symptoms. Results: The findings indicated significant relationships between ARI symptoms in toddlers and home ventilation (p = 0.004), indoor air pollution (p = 0.012), and family members' smoking behavior (p = 0.017). Among these factors, smoking behavior posed the highest risk for ARI symptoms in toddlers. Conclusion: The study concludes that poor home ventilation, indoor air pollution, and smoking significantly contribute to ARI symptoms in toddlers, with smoking behavior being the most critical risk factor. Addressing these environmental issues could reduce ARI risks in children.

Method: The activity was conducted in Badalpandean Village, targeting women and the elderly. Methods used included health education about hypertension using leaflets, blood pressure measurement simulations, and knowledge evaluation through pre- and post-tests. Additionally, blood pressure, random blood sugar (ABG), and uric acid levels were checked for early detection. Result: A total of 24 participants participated in the activity, the majority of whom were women (96%) and aged 51–70 years. Pre-test results showed that 16.67% of participants had"poor" knowledge, 62.5% had "fair" knowledge, and 20.83% had "good" knowledge. After education, 62.5% of participants were in the "good" category, and no participants were in the poor" category. Conclusion: The combination of education and community-based health examinations effectively increased community awareness and knowledge about hypertension. This strategy can be used as a model for similar interventions in other areas for hypertension prevention and control at the village level.
