Abstract

This study aims to find out whether the application of the PMRI learning model can improve the ability of mathematical connections and mathematics learning interest in SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang students. The research used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the PMRI learning model. The subjects and objects in this study were 24 students in class VIIA Muhammadiyah SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang. Data collection techniques and instruments used by researchers are the final test questions to find out the ability of mathematical connections and questionnaire sheets to determine student learning interest. The data analysis technique conducted in this study is to draw conclusions from the data obtained, namely the results of the interview, the results of student evaluation and the questionnaire of mathematics learning interest. The results of research conducted in two cycles showed an increase in the ability of students' connections and learning interest through the PMRI approach. Mathematical connection capability test results increased with initial data with an average of 46.17 to 69.62 in cycle 1 then in cycle 2 to 77.29. And mathematics learning interest from the initial condition 41.66% to 70.83% in cycle 1 then in cycle 2 to 87.5%

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the development of a valid, practical and effective Problem Posing Modelas a learning tool. This research and development study (R&D) with 4-D have some phases, namely: define, design, develop, and desiminate. The data collection technique used test (description/essay) and non-test (tool validation and questionnaire). The data were analyzed through validity analysis, practicality analysis, and effectiveness analysis. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires,validation sheets, Lesson Plan, student’s worksheets, and test. The study showed that lesson plan is stated to be very valid with an average score of 90.15 in the k > 80 category andstudent’s worksheets is declared very valid with an average score of 84.58 in the k > 80 category. The students and teachers’ response are stated to be very practical with the average score of 80.55 in the k > 80 category. Besides, the effectiveness is declared effective seen from the students’ learning outcomes with 72% in the 60 ≤ p < 80 category. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning tool developed, Problem Posing Model is declared valid, practical and effective so that it can be used in learning mathematics.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to determine the appropriate, practicality, and effectiveness of learning video for lines materials and angles by using discovery learning model to improve mathematical problem-solving ability for seventh grade students. Method here was research and development using ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Population was mathematic teachers and seventh grade students SMPK Sta. Maria Assumpta, Kupang. Sample was seventh grade students of A class. Trials was done to determine the practicality of learning video. Research instruments here was validation sheet, learning video, lesson plan, practicality sheet, questioner of study result test. the obtained data then analyzed its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Results: validity scores, a) learning video: 3.45, b) lesson plan: 3.59, c) teacher respond questionary: 3.5, d) student respond questionary: 3.5. The average score for validity was 3.45 and the category was very valid. The learning video got good respond and the score was a) 3.45 for teacher respond questioner, b) 3.56 for student respond questioner. The average score of practicality was 3.55 and the category was very practical. The appropriate of learning video was obtained from the effectiveness of student KKM (70) and the average score of student learning outcome was 73.33%. From the data of validation result, analysis of questioner and student learning outcome show that the learning video for lines material and angles by using discovery learning model was very valid, very practical and effective.

Abstract

Development of Learning Devices Using a Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model for Building Flat Sided Spaces for Class VIII Students of Muder Teresa Middle School for the2020/2021 Academic Year. Thesis for the Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP, Muhammadyah University, Kupang. This study aims to produce learning tools in the form of lesson plans and worksheets on flat sided geometric shapes using a problem-based learning model for class VIII students of SMP Muder Teresa Kupang who have valid, practical and effective qualifications. This research is development research using the modified ADDIE model which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation with 10 respondents. The data collection technique used was lesson plan assessment sheets, LKS assessment sheets and tests. To test the validity of the data, practicality, and effectiveness used analytical techniques. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the development of mathematics learning tools using a problembased learning model to improve the ability and independence of learning mathematics for Grade VIII students of SMP Muder Teresa, Kupang, is feasible to use.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran metematika berbasis inquiry based learning untuk meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar siswa yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp dengan tahapan meliputi: (1) studi pendahuluan mencakup analisis kebutuhan dan situasi; (2) tahap perancangan dan pengembangan prototype; (3) tahap penilaian mencakup validasi ahli dan uji coba produk. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari: (1) lembar validasi RPP dan LKS; (2) lembar penilaian kepraktisan dari guru dan siswa; (3) lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran; (4) angket minat; dan (5) prestasi belajar. Subjek uji coba yaitu guru dan siswa MTsN 1 Kota Bima dan SMP N 1 Mantingan. Analisis rata-rata dilakukan dengan cara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis inquiry memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of students' mathematical connections in solving story problems. The research used was qualitative research, with the research subject of class VIII B students of UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kupang. The research instruments used are tests, interviews and documentation. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed using question instrument analysis, data classification, and conclusions. The results showed that 3 students with high mathematical connection skills with a value of 12% were able to master all three indicators, namely linking concepts and procedures in mathematics, linking concepts in mathematics with other sciences, and applying mathematical concepts to everyday life. 11 Students with moderate mathematical connections with a score of 44% only mastered a few indicators, namely relating concepts in mathematics to other sciences, and applying mathematical concepts to everyday life.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the development and results of the development of mathematical problems of the Pisa model of statistical content to train students' statistical literacy at SMP Negeri 5 Kupang. The research method used is the research and development method. This research uses a four-D development model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Validation of the PISA question trial resulted in 5 questions tested being declared valid. Reliability is generally stated to be reliable, with a test probability score of 0.62 with high interpretation, the distinguishing power produces 3 questions with sufficient criteria (1, 2 and 5), 1 question with good criteria (4) and 1 question with bad criteria (5) while the difficulty level of the questions produces 1 question with easy criteria (1), 3 questions with medium criteria (2, 3 and 4) and 1 question with difficult criteria. Overall it has been declared good. The difficulty level of PISA model math problems can be seen from the difficulty index of each question item. In accordance with the quality criteria of the test questions, it is known that the 5 questions are worthy of being tested on the field test. The results of the Field Test trial were obtained from 30 students, there were 24 students who had statistical literacy skills with very good categories, 5 students had statistical literacy skills with good categories, and 1 student had statistical literacy skills with sufficient categories so that they had an average of 84,666 with very good categories.

Abstract

This research aimed to study the process of e-module development using problem based learning (PBL) approaching in trigonometry subject, which is feasible and effective based on students’ responses. This study was research and development using ADDIE model (analyzing, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Data was collected using questionary in 5 scales to study e-module feasibility and using questionary for students to get their responds. Validators here were lecturer and teacher in mathematic learning. Subject here was 28 students Results shows that the e-module is feasible for implementation that indicated by the validation test from content expert in the feasible category (very good), and from media expert in the feasible category (very good). Student respond got very interesting category. The average score for test result was 92, therefore this e-module of trigonometry with PBL approach is effective and feasible for implementation in mathematic learning.

Abstract

The research method used in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR) with data collection techniques, namely observation and test data analysis techniques, namely qualitative descriptive analysis with 19 subjects with details of 10 male students and 9 female students. This research was conducted at SMP Swadaya Kualeu with the results of the study showing that based on the description of the test results carried out on students, it can be seen the mistakes made by students in solving problems on the addition and subtraction of fractions. Through the results of data analysis, the causes of the mistakes made by students are also known. (1) Misunderstanding in the form of facts, namely Mistakes in applying plus or minus signs and brackets in algebraic forms with a percentage of 70.58 (2) Misunderstanding in the form of concepts, namely Misunderstanding the concept of like and unlike terms with a percentage of 68.62%. (3) Misunderstanding in the form of principles, namely mistakes in understanding the properties that apply to algebraic forms. (4) Errors in understanding in the form of procedures, namely, errors in understanding in completing addition and subtraction of algebraic forms, errors in understanding in completing multiplication, exponentiation of algebraic forms and division of algebraic forms. Abstract

Salah satu topik yang penting dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah Teorema Pythagoras, yang memerlukan kemampuan representasi matematis yang baik agar siswa dapat memecahkan masalah dengan tepat. Model pembelajaran Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) telah diakui sebagai pendekatan yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui kerja sama dan interaksi antar siswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada materi Teorema Pythagoras menggunakan model pembelajaran collaborative problem solving. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII MTs Plus Nurul Iman. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan lembar observasi proses pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk menggambarkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa, serta menganalisis efektivitas model pembelajaran CPS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model CPS mampu meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada materi Teorema Pythagoras, terutama dalam aspek representasi gambar, simbol dan verbal. Siswa yang belajar dengan model CPS cenderung lebih aktif dalam berdiskusi dan bekerja sama dalam menyelesaikan masalah, sehingga lebih mampu mengintegrasikan berbagai bentuk representasi matematis. Meskipun demikian, representasi verbal masih menjadi tantangan bagi beberapa siswa.
