Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) encompasses a range of activities that take place from conception to the onset of labor, aiming to ensure comprehensive, quality care for all pregnant women. ANC services help prepare pregnant women for pregnancy, childbirth, and maintain an environment that protects babies from infection. Doctors and midwives are trained to provide high-quality ANC, screen, diagnose, treat and refer cases, thereby contributing to efforts to reduce maternal and newborn mortality. In 2016, WHO issued recommendations for antenatal care to provide a positive pregnancy experience and reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity. One of the WHO recommendations is that ANC for a healthy pregnancy should be done at least 8 times, but after adjusting these guidelines to local conditions, it was agreed in Indonesia that ANC should be done at least 6 times, with a minimum of two visits to the doctor for screening of pregnancy risk factors or complications in the first trimester and one visit in the third trimester for screening of labor risk factors. Among the 30 pregnant women who underwent examination, 3 respondents had above-average blood pressure, thus requiring further observation to prevent further complications, such as preeclampsia.ABSTRAKPelayanan antenatal (ANC) mencakup berbagai kegiatan yang dilakukan sejak pembuahan hingga awal persalinan, yang bertujuan untuk memastikan pelayanan yang komprehensif dan berkualitas bagi semua ibu hamil.

Abstract

Labor pain is a physiological process, but if not managed properly it can cause side effects of labor such as secondary arrest. Acupressure is a non-pharmacological therapy that is effective in reducing problems faced by mothers giving birth, especially primigravida. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of acupressure points BL 23 and Li 4 on the level of labor pain in the first stage of the active phase of primigravida. The type of research is quasi-experimental with a one group pre-test post-test design. The sample size was 39 mothers giving birth in the first stage of the active phase, taken by accidental sampling from the population of primigravida mothers giving birth in January-March 2024. Measurement of labor pain levels using  the Numerical Ranting Scale.  The results of the study showed that the average pre-test pain level was 7.23 with a maximum scale of 9, while the average post-test labor pain level was 2.79 with a maximum scale of 6. The  Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test results were ρ = 0.00, which means that acupressure points BL 32 and Li 4 have an effect on the level of labor pain, so it can be concluded that the acupressure method of points BL 32 and Li 4 is effective for the level of labor pain in the first active phase of primigravida.  Suggestions  for acupressure points BL 32 and Li 4 can be applied as a non-pharmacological method to reduce the level of labor pain in the first active phase in basic health services because it is easy, cheap and effective.

Abstract

The still high maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Indonesia, especially in East Java, is caused by indirect causes or other causes such as prolonged labor, so a method is needed to treat cases of prolonged labor such as auricular acupressure. Auricular acupressure (AKAR) is a non-pharmacological method proven effective for uterine contractions, but its side effects on the fetal heart rate (FHR) are unknown. The research aimed to analyze the AKAR method on uterine contractions, FHR, and labor duration in the first stage's active phase. This type of research is truly experimental, with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were 41 respondents, primigravida active phase first-stage mothers, selected by consecutive sampling and randomly divided into two groups, namely 21 AKAR groups and 20 deep breathing relaxation control groups. The research results of the Friedman test statistical test ρ-value equal 0.000 in the AKAR group and ρ-value equal 0.000 in the control group, meaning that AKAR influences uterine contractions. The Friedman Test findings show that AKAR does not affect FHR (ρ-value equal 0.618). The Independent Sample Test ρ-value equal 0.29 indicates no statistically significant difference between the two groups' labor lengths throughout the first stage's active phase. The AKAR group's average labor time in the first stage of the active phase was 365.40 minutes, with a minimum of 267 minutes and a high of 395 minutes. Conclusion: The auricular acupressure method affects uterine contractions but does not affect the fetal heart rate. There was no difference in the length of labor in the first active phase of labor between the auricular acupressure and deep breathing relaxation groups, so it is recommended that the auricular acupressure method can be used as an alternative complementary care to prevent prolonged labor.

Abstract

Massage stimulation is a traditional therapy of the Indonesian, which combines auditory, visual and tactile kinesthetic stimuli, which can be given from early to unlimited age. Massage stimulation for preschoolers in addition to relaxing the child is also reducing stress, increasing immunity, stimulating the vagus nerve, also increasing growth by stimulating cell growth. This research aims to determine the effect of massage stimulation on the anthropometric size of preschoolers. This research method uses Randomized Controlled Trial. The results obtained a significant value of p = 0,000 or p <0.05 in the treatment group, but in the two control groups there was no difference in anthropometric measurements of height and head circumference p> 0.05. In conclusion, there was the effect of massage stimulation on body weight, height, upper arm circumference and head circumference. But the height and head circumference were not found differences in the two groups.

Abstract

Hypertensive disorders (HD) affect up to 10 percent of pregnancies worldwide. Gestational Hypertension 17 percent will progress to preeclampsia if left untreated. Acupressure has been used for centuries to treat a variety of symptoms associated with pregnancy and is also known to lower blood pressure in hypertension. However, the use of ear acupressure as an adjunct to conventional care for hypertensive disorders in pregnancy is underrepresented in the scientific literature. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of ear acupressure on gestational hypertension. The research method employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post design. A sample of 15 people received antenatal care and ear acupressure. Analysis using the Paired T Test. The study's results showed a difference in the average blood pressure of primigravida women in the 2nd and third trimesters, both before and after ear acupressure, of 6 mmHg systolic and 4 mmHg diastolic. The results of the Paired t-test p equal 0.00. The conclusion is that ear acupressure affects the blood pressure of primigravida during the second and third trimesters.
