Abstract

This review explores the integration of Project-based Learning (PjBL) and Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) in chemistry education. By synthesizing findings from eight peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025, selected through a systematic search using the Dimensions.ai database with specific inclusion criteria, the review highlights how immersive technologies enhance conceptual understanding, motivation, and engagement in student-centered learning environments. Data were collected using a structured literature search, and the findings were analyzed through thematic synthesis based on educational level, technology used, implementation strategies, and reported outcomes. The review reveals that VR/AR, when effectively embedded in PjBL frameworks, allows learners to simulate experiments, visualize abstract molecular structures, and collaborate in meaningful, inquiry-driven projects. However, challenges remain, including limited access to technology, pedagogical integration issues, and educator resistance. The review concludes with recommendations for future research, emphasizing the need for teacher training, inclusive design, and long-term evaluation of immersive PjBL in chemistry education.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB), self-efficacy, and compensation on teacher loyalty within the context of non-formal education in Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design with a descriptive approach, data were collected from non-formal education teachers working at Learning Activity Studios (Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar, or SKB) across Indonesia. Structural Equation Modelling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used for data analysis, processed through SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that both OCB and remuneration have a statistically significant positive effect on teacher loyalty. Additionally, self-efficacy also positively contributes to teacher loyalty, although to a lesser extent. These results highlight the critical role of internal psychological and organisational factors in fostering commitment among non-formal education teachers. It is recommended that SKB managers enhance supportive work environments that promote citizenship behaviour and self-efficacy. Furthermore, government policies should reinforce fair and sustainable remuneration systems to strengthen teacher loyalty and ensure the continued quality of non-formal education services in Indonesia.

Abstract

The urgency of the Community Service Activities (PPM) that will be conducted is in accordance with the challenges faced by partners in the development of professional human resources for Advanced Indonesia. Specifically, family welfare requires further development through the provision of skills to women who are economically unproductive. The entrepreneurial spirit of women in the city of Yogyakarta, particularly mothers in Kampung Kuncen RT 21 RW 05, Pakuncen Village, Wirobrajan District, Yogyakarta City, is still relatively low. They require training to achieve independence, particularly in the field of green economy, in order to establish prosperous families by prioritizing environmental sustainability. The issue of domestic waste, which is the leftover vegetables and fruits produced by households, is also urgent. This waste is being disposed of in landfills or residential areas, which will contaminate the surrounding environment. Additionally, Yogyakarta is presently experiencing a waste disposal emergency. In reality, household waste, including unspent vegetables and fruits, can be repurposed as eco enzyme materials. These materials can be employed as air fresheners, cleansing agents, and as supplementary ingredients in the production of herbal soap. Furthermore, soap can be produced from cooking oil residue. The urgency of Community Service activities, particularly the issue of managing household waste (environmental aspect) and the issue of enhancing the abilities of women in assisting the family economy (economic aspect). Mentoring activities for the production of botanical soap and eco enzymes are proposed as a solution to these issues. The objective of the PPM activities is to enhance the comprehension and capabilities of women in the field of entrepreneurship by providing them with independence training through mentoring in the production of environmentally friendly herbal soap. This soap is made by utilizing used cooking oil as the primary ingredient and fruit and vegetable waste as raw materials for the production of eco enzymes, which are used as soap additives. PPM activities are intended to enhance Key Performance Indicator (KPI) 3 UNY, which refers to lecturers who engage in activities outside of the classroom. Furthermore, four students who are participating in this PPM activity have expertise in the preparation and management of a PPM activity. This will enhance the achievement of KPI 7, which is a collaborative and participatory class.

Abstract

Abstract

The increasing demand for learning platforms that effectively integrate local wisdom and cultural content necessitates an understanding of user expectations, especially among pre-service elementary teachers (PSETs) who will utilize these tools. This study aims to identify the expectations of PSET students regarding the design and implementation of a culture-integrated Learning Management System (LMS), and to explore the challenges they encounter in its use. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, collecting data through a survey administered to 30 PSETs and in-depth interviews with four participants (two male and two female) from the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program at Yogyakarta State University. The findings reveal seven main aspects that affect the LMS user experience: ease of access, clarity of navigation, material management, speed of assignment collection, technical problems, timely notification, and discussion features. The survey and interview results indicate that technical issues and accessibility remain the primary challenges, while aspects of material management and speed of assignment submission receive positive ratings. Students emphasize the importance of interactive features, culturally relevant content, and an improved LMS interface design. This study concludes that continuous improvements in accessibility, technical support, and the strategic integration of culturally relevant content are crucial for enhancing the learning experience of PSETs. These findings contribute to the body of knowledge by providing specific, empirically-driven design and implementation recommendations for developers and educators seeking to create culturally sensitive and effective digital learning environments for future elementary school teachers.
