However, at MTs al-Khairat Gorontalo City, especially grade VII, in the process of learning Arabic, learning media has not been used. Thus, students get bored quickly and the learning outcomes are not optimal. Purpose: This study aims to develop animation-based Arabic learning media using the Doratoon application to increase the learning interest of grade VII students of MTs Al-Khairat Gorontalo City. Methods: The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Results and Discussion: The results of this media development show that the Doratoon application is effective in improving students' speaking skills. This is measured at a figure that reaches 93% Based on the validity test of the first two 2 validators, the calculation results show that the average score reaches 89%, which is included in the category of interpretation of the interval of 80% - 100%, with a rating of "Very Feasible". This indicates that according to the material expert validator, the developed product has met the excellent eligibility criteria and can be used effectively. The second validator as a media expert in the evaluation results showed that the media obtained a score of 56 out of a total of 60, with a percentage of 93%, which indicates the category of "Excellent". This media has an attractive appearance, good color harmony, and effective layout arrangements, and fulfills learning objectives well. Conclusion and Implications: The use of animation video-based learning media using the Doratoon application has been proven to be effective in increasing students' motivation and understanding of Arabic material at MTs Al-Khairat, Gorontalo City. Based on the results of the implementation and evaluation, the majority of students showed a positive response to the developed media, with an average score of 89%, which is included in the "Good" category. While there are some students who are still struggling, efforts to adjust learning strategies and pay more attention to those students can improve future outcomes. In addition, the development of this media also contributes to improving the quality of Arabic teaching, especially in creating a learning atmosphere that is more interactive, interesting, and in accordance with the needs of the current digital generation.

Background: The Arabic language teacher at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Hikmah Mogutat Kotamobagu teaches Arabic using the KMA 183 textbook, a whiteboard, and an LCD projector. The teaching media employed by the teacher include illustrated paper and PowerPoint presentations. However, these methods have not yet increased students' interest, motivation, or learning outcomes in Arabic language lessons. Purpose: Based on interviews and an analysis of the Arabic language teacher's needs, the primary issue that requires immediate resolution is the presence of effective instructional media for the Arabic language subject. Method: This research follows the Research and Development (R&D) approach, using the ADDIE model. The development of instructional media, specifically using the Smart Apps Creator application, is tailored for students at MTs Al-Hikmah Mogutat Kotamobagu and is based on the Core Competencies (KI) and Basic Competencies (KD) of the Grade VIII Arabic language curriculum for Semester 1. Results and Discussion: The validation results from media experts for the developed instructional media show an average percentage score of 95.77%, which falls into the "very appropriate" category. Material experts rated it at 88%, also in the "very appropriate" category. Language experts provided a validation score of 86.67%, placing it in the "very appropriate" category. The Arabic language teacher's feedback resulted in a score of 93%, categorized as "very appropriate." Among the small group of students, 0% (0 students) rated the media as "very inappropriate," 0% (0 students) as "inappropriate," 0% (0 students) as "moderately appropriate," 40% (2 students) as "appropriate," and 60% (3 students) as "very appropriate." In the large group trial, the media was rated as "very appropriate" with a percentage of 94.94%. Abstract

This study examines the influence of Arabic teachers' professional competence on students' learning motivation at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Cokroaminoto Duminanga. The background of this research highlights the critical role of teachers in fostering student motivation, particularly in the context of learning Arabic, which is not only a communication tool but also a medium for religious education. The primary objective is to assess how the professional competence of Arabic language teachers affects students' motivation to learn. Utilizing a quantitative research method, data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 20 students. The reliability of the instruments was tested using Cronbach's Alpha, while validity was confirmed through product-moment correlation. Data analysis was performed using simple regression to determine the impact of the independent variable (teacher competence) on the dependent variable (student motivation). The results reveal a significant positive correlation between the teachers' professional competence and the students' motivation, suggesting that enhancing teacher quality can directly improve student engagement and learning outcomes. This study underscores the importance of continuous professional development for teachers to sustain student motivation, with implications for educational policy and teacher training programs.

Abstract

Arabic is a compulsory subject at SMP Plus Ainul Falah Islamic Boarding School, Sumbergede, Sekampung, East Lampung, emphasizing foreign language skills as a key focus. However, teaching and learning Arabic face numerous challenges. Educators encounter obstacles due to limited experience, resource constraints, and high academic expectations. Students, often learning Arabic for the first time and coming from diverse backgrounds, face difficulties with grammar, language anxiety, and motivation. This qualitative descriptive research, conducted through a case study approach, explores these challenges to present an objective picture of the situation. Data were gathered from students at the boarding school. Findings highlight that grammatical differences pose significant learning hurdles, while language anxiety makes students hesitant to participate due to fear of mistakes or peer judgment. Additionally, low student motivation hampers learning progress. Addressing these challenges is crucial for enhancing Arabic learning outcomes at the school.
