Abstract

This paper aims to explain the actualization of one of the prayer schedules that are still guided by the people of Aceh. Prayer schedules circulating in the community are of various types and forms, patterns of preparation and accuracy also vary. This type of research uses a qualitative approach with the documentation method as a data collection technique The all-time prayer schedule of Abu Muhammad Isa work compiled in 1984 was very contemporary in his time and included in the type of conversion prayer schedule for the surrounding area and guided by the West Indonesia Time zone 105 ° (GMT + 7) in accordance with the Indonesian Presidential Decree. No. 243 of 1963. When compared with the results of the computational calculation, the prayer schedule is slower around 2 minutes than it should. This prayer schedule can be guided within a radius of 55.4 kilometers from the point of calculation, because it uses the value of ihktiyat 2 minutes and can still be used for all time because until now the resulting difference is only in seconds.

Abstract

When Muslims have settled on the earth, one of the problems which become a focus of attention is the Kiblah direction. For Muslims, the Kiblah direction is not only the need for prayer which is one of the legitimate conditions of prayer, but also includes other needs related to Kiblah such as the position of burying the body, establishing a mosque and musalla. This paper explains the position of the MPU Aceh’s fatwa Number 3 of 2018 concerning the determination of the direction of the MUI of the fatwa of MUI number 3 and 5 of 2010 concerning the direction of Kiblah and explaining its relevance to the context. With the approach of astronomy, the position of the MPU Aceh fatwa Number 3 of 2018 concerning the determination of the direction of Kiblah is complementary to the MUI fatwa Number 3 and 5 of 2010 concerning the Kiblah direction. Improvements to the integrity and intensity of fatwas are responsive, proactive and anticipatory. The presence of the MPU Aceh’s fatwa on Kiblah direction is able to solve the problem of Kiblah direction in Indonesia, both in the technical and the sociological domain, because the content of the fatwa is relevant with the context and it accommodates the dimensions of science, technology and Fiqh as a characteristic of collective diligence (Ijtihad Jama'i).

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Raudhatul Ma'arif Cot Trueng is one of the islamic boarding schools in North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province that has organized a muadalah islamic boarding school curriculum system as regulated in PMA. No. 18 of 2014, where the subject of falak science is one of the subjects of the Islamic family that must be taught for the Aliyah level. Limitations in the availability of falak science teaching materials and teaching staff for falak science subjects are the main obstacles in implementing the muadalah curriculum in the Islamic boarding school. This community service program is aimed at aliyah teachers at the Raudhatul Ma'arif Cot Trueng Islamic Boarding School, which teaches falak science subjects, because several problems include: 1) the teachers who teach falak science subjects have not been able to master the falak science material optimally; 2) teachers are not used to compiling teaching materials that are in accordance with the existing curriculum; 3) The lack of falak science literature in Islamic boarding schools causes teachers to be unable to compile teaching materials optimally. From these problems, assistance activities will be sought, especially in compiling teaching materials in accordance with the muadalah curriculum which is a guideline in the implementation of the curriculum at the Raudhatul Ma'arif Islamic boarding school. This assistance aims to allow teachers to teach falak science independently and falak science material can be taught comprehensively based on the teaching materials they have compiled. The result obtained from this assistance is that teachers have been able to understand mastering falak science so that they can produce falak science teaching materials in the form of textbooks that are in accordance with the competencies in the muadalah curriculum. These results are obtained from the results of mentoring starting from the planning stage, action stage, observation and ending with reflection.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a new model for MSME growth and identify key factors influencing the increase in halal market share among MSME through empirical testing of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT-3). A mixed-method sequential explanatory approach was employed. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 70 respondents. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method, while qualitative data were examined through triangulation and the Analytical Network Process (ANP) method. The findings revealed that all independent variables—including performance expectancy, business expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, habits, and personal innovation—had a significant positive effect on behavioral intentions to use QRIS among MSME actors in Lhokseumawe City. These results highlight the need for more intensive and comprehensive utilization of digital technology to achieve optimal business performance. The adoption of QRIS, strengthening of halal branding, product innovation, and increased competitiveness are strategic steps toward building partnerships with various stakeholders and developing a sustainable halal MSME ecosystem. Supportive government policies and programs are essential for fostering an ecosystem that promotes technology adoption and the growth of halal products in the 5.0 era.

Abstract

Mosque plays a vital role in supporting the performance of prayer comfortably and solemnly. However, one of the most crucial elements in mosque construction is the accuracy of the qibla direction facing the Kaaba. In cities far from the Kaaba, such as Medan, determining the qibla direction cannot be done visually and requires precise astronomical calculations and technical approaches. The problem that arises is the continued presence of mosques with qibla directions deviating from the correct orientation, which can affect the quality of worship for Muslims. This study uses a specially reduced mosque Qibla measurement sample data in Medan city. This paper analyzes data from 38 mosque samples with Qibla direction errors, which were re-measured by the UMSU OIF team. The data were then processed using a frequency distribution method to provide an overview of the error distribution in mosque Qibla directions across the city of Medan. This study found that the error often seen is a deviation of 9-12 degrees from the Qibla direction, and the mistake factors. This study also found that the misalignment of Qibla directions in Medan is mainly due to prioritizing land efficiency over directional accuracy during mosque construction, as well as relying on general assumptions and previously heard fatwas rather than precise astronomical calculations.

Abstract

The determination of Hijri month beginnings is frequently disputed, particularly due to the subjective nature of the ru’yah (visual sighting) method, which is affected by observer bias and atmospheric variability. This study addresses a contested hilāl sighting in Aceh Jaya for Zulhijjah 1, 1446, where a photograph led to uncertainty in official determination. To mitigate misinterpretation, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based public website utilizing Google’s Teachable Machine was developed and tested. Descriptive analysis was conducted on two disputed photographic samples from the event. The AI model, trained for crescent (hilāl) image classification, consistently identified both samples as non-hilāl with a confidence exceeding 97%. The findings indicate the images were likely artifacts or noise rather than genuine crescent sightings. The research demonstrates that AI platforms provide reliable, objective support in hilāl verification, enhancing the standardization and credibility of Hijri calendar determinations for religious and scientific authorities.

Abstract

Prayer time is a compulsory act of worship for Muslims, the validity of which depends on the fulfillment of specific conditions, one of which is facing the qibla, the direction of the Kaaba in the Masjid al-Haram, Makkah. Therefore, accurate determination of the qibla direction is a crucial aspect of performing prayer. Various methods have been used to determine the qibla direction, such as the annual Rashdul Qiblah phenomenon and calculations based on spherical trigonometry. The Rashdul Qiblah method is simple and accurate; however, its application is limited to specific times. In contrast, spherical trigonometry can be applied at any time and offers high precision, but the calculation process is relatively complex and prone to human error. This study aims to implement spherical trigonometry using the Python programming language to simplify the process of qibla direction determination and to evaluate its accuracy. The research employs a library research method with a computational simulation approach. The qibla direction is calculated by inputting the latitude and longitude coordinates of the location and the Kaaba into a Python program, and the results are then compared with field measurement data obtained using a theodolite. The results show that the Python-based qibla direction calculation produces an azimuth value with a difference of 32.62 arcseconds compared to the theodolite measurements. This difference is considered very small and does not practically affect the accuracy of the qibla direction. Therefore, the proposed method is proven to be accurate, efficient, and suitable as a modern alternative for determining the qibla direction.
