To the present, in the era of local autonomy, the old order has reborn in Buginese culture and force the cultural legitimacy, such as reproduced values and eve more related the political practices and power struggles. Such tendency has resulted in the division of Belawa community into two groups those who geneologically have political power (anakarung) and those who have not. This has formed a patronage stucture relationship based on delicate agreement (assituruseng). Such a values has cultural legacy which is then reproduced as an instrument in the political practice and maintain power domination by anakarung. Such a strategy is a hegemonic effort, utilizing various components of Bugis cultural through symbols and adages.

Abstract

This study investigates the process of assimilation of Islamic practices and indigenous customs inside the ceremonies conducted by the Bajo Tribe. The rites performed by the Bajo people encompass a fusion of Islamic tenets with their indigenous beliefs, specifically centered around their reverence for the sea's sovereign. The amalgamation of these two ideologies yields a potent synergy. The Bajo people, as Muslims, fulfill the religious obligations of Islam, which includes commemorating the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In addition, the Bajo people also perform the Massoro and Bate' rituals, which are the most significant traditional ceremonies of the Bajo Tribe in Torosiaje Village. The Bajo tribe's customs are shaped by the integration and embodiment of these two ideas, which are expressed through values, norms, and laws that serve as guiding principles for their way of life. The ceremonies performed by the Bajo people stem from established traditions passed down through generations.

Abstract

This research comprehensively investigates the causes of NPF risk factors and proposes control strategies in Indonesian Islamic Banking. This model constructs a research model by Employing Generalized Least Squares, Path Analysis, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and Interpretative Structural Modelling (ISM). The data is pooled from 12 Indonesian Islamic banks from 2012 to 2020. These exhaustive analyses reveal an intricate building of unresolved debts. Some key findings in the financial ratios support the positive impact of good corporate governance (GCG) and Islamic corporate social responsibility (ICSR) on NPF. In contrast, asset utilization (AUR) negatively affects NPF. Furthermore, profitability and operation costs increase NPF. Some indirect paths are also realized. This research proposes a more holistic approach to forming NPFs in Islamic banking, critical for managerial decision-making in drafting their budget structures.

Abstract

The alawiyyin group or groups that claim to be descendants of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. have differences of opinion regarding the exclusivity of their status. Their status in the surrounding community has become a special privilege for their group. An organization that wants legitimacy for the alawiyyin group is trying to trace the descendants of the alawiyyin group to remote villages, starting in the 19th century. It makes the rabithah alawiyah organization or the unity of the alawiyyin group experience difficulties in legitimizing the alawiyyin groups in the area. This research analyzes the causes of exclusivity and legitimacy in the status legitimation process, especially between rabithah alawiyah and alawiyyin groups in rural areas. Ethnography is an appropriate method for analyzing and analyzing active observation data in this research. Some data and informants in in-depth interviews that had the nuance of friendly conversation because the researcher himself was an alawiyyin who could carry out in-depth analysis in this research. The results of this research found that most of the alawiyyin groups in rural areas did not want their status to be made public, was even an informant's grandfather who hid their written genealogy to avoid the arrogance that would occur to his children and grandchildren when they legitimized their status. As a finding from this research, rabithah alawiyah as an institution that legitimizes the status of alwiyyin groups nationally and internationally, digitalization of nasab needs to be digitalized, so that those in rural areas or alawiyyin groups in remote parts of Indonesia can register their nasab or clan at this institution Rabitha Alawiyah.

Abstract

In today’s dynamic organizational environment, Protean Career Orientation (PCO) and leadership are critical drivers of organizational commitment and employee performance. While extensively studied separately, their combined effects remain underexplored. This study systematically reviews empirical research to clarify how PCO and leadership interact to influence employee outcomes. A systematic literature review was conducted using Scopus-indexed articles published between 2014 and 2024. Targeted keywords related to performance management, leadership, and PCO guided the search. Applying PRISMA protocol and strict inclusion criteria, 863 high-quality studies were retained for qualitative synthesis. PCO was found to positively influence affective and normative commitment through organizational identification, career optimism, and mentoring, but had limited effect on continuance commitment. Leadership styles—particularly participative, transformational, and managerial coaching—consistently improved commitment and performance. The synergy between PCO and supportive leadership promoted proactive behaviors and organizational citizenship, mediating performance gains. The findings emphasize the need for organizations to integrate career autonomy with empowering leadership to strengthen commitment and enhance performance. The proposed framework advances theory by linking PCO with leadership-driven engagement. Practically, it offers HR strategies for fostering autonomy, development, and supportive leadership. Limitations include reliance on secondary data and lack of industry-specific focus.
