Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning media in elementary education continues to develop, but research discussing teacher validation of AI content and the digital literacy of elementary school students remains relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the use of AI-based learning videos in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning, examine teachers’ strategies in validating AI content, and describe the development of students’ digital literacy during the learning process. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design involving one experienced IPAS teacher and 15 students of MI Muhammadiyah 2, Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua. Participants were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, open-ended questionnaires, observation, and document analysis. The results showed that the use of AI-based learning videos was able to increase students’ learning interest, engagement, and understanding of cultural diversity material in IPAS learning. Students gave positive responses to the animated display, audio, and interactive visuals, which made learning more interesting and easier to understand. Nevertheless, some students experienced difficulty following the information because the video transitions were too fast and the visual details were unclear. This study also found that teachers play an important role in validating AI content before it is used in learning by comparing the video material with textbooks and various other official sources. In addition, the use of AI-based videos began to train students’ digital literacy through the ability to ask questions and re-question information obtained from digital media. The conclusion of this study affirms that AI-based learning videos can serve as innovative and interactive learning media in elementary schools when accompanied by active teacher guidance and an appropriate content validation process. These findings contribute to the development of AI integration and digital literacy practices in elementary education.

Abstract

Indonesian agriculture faces an economic paradox where the sector remains a primary employer despite low wages and stagnant GDP contributions compared to industry. This study aims to analyze and quantify the phenomenon of agricultural involution in Indonesia from 2017 to 2023 by simultaneously examining the effects of land, labor, productivity, and land–labor interaction on agricultural output across 34 provinces. Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA) with an Alternating Least Squares (ALS) approach is employed because of its ability to handle mixed formative–reflective measurement models and accommodate latent variable interaction effects —  capabilities unavailable in conventional covariance-based SEM or linear regression. The results indicate that land capacity is the dominant determinant of agricultural output with a path coefficient of 0.958, signaling that growth remains extensive rather than intensive. Crucially, labor intensity is found to have a significant negative effect on productivity and total output, confirming the law of diminishing marginal returns and the presence of labor surpluses that exceed optimal points. Furthermore, the interaction between land and labor yields a significant negative coefficient (-0.109), proving that demographic pressure on limited land exacerbates inefficiency and output destruction. Spatial post-hoc analysis indicates that agricultural involution is no longer confined to Java but has evolved into a national phenomenon, as demonstrated by the absence of significant disparities in labor-to-land ratios and productivity between Java and other regions. These findings suggest that sustainable transformation requires integrated policies for land protection, labor restructuring toward non-agricultural sectors, and technological modernization to break the cycle of involution.

Abstract

The low level of students' collaboration skills and conceptual understanding in mathematics, particularly on 2D shapes, requires an innovative learning approach. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) based on Papuan local wisdom in improving collaboration skills and understanding of 2D shapes among fifth-grade students of MI Al-Ma'arif Sorong City. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a Nonrandomized Control-Group Pretest–Posttest design. The subjects consisted of an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through written tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The data were analyzed using N-Gain calculation, Mann–Whitney U test, and Independent Sample t-Test to determine significant differences between the two groups. The results showed that the implementation of PjBL based on Papuan local wisdom significantly improved students’ collaboration skills and conceptual understanding. The experimental class achieved a medium category improvement, while the control class remained in the low category. These findings indicate that integrating Papuan local wisdom into the PjBL model is effective in enhancing students’ social skills and deeper mathematical concept mastery.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This research explores the impact of financial literacy, including knowledge, confidence, and ability, on interest in Sharia investment. Background Problems: the relationship between financial literacy and interest in sharia investment. Novelty: Considering that each province has different community characteristics, especially in the Southwest Papua Province area which is included in the 3T areas (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost), an analysis was carried out and using SEM-PLS for analysis of Ddta. Research Methods: Using the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method with the response variable sharia investment interest and the financial literacy variable with the dimensions of knowledge, confidence and ability. Finding/Results: The results show that financial literacy has a positive and statistically significant effect on interest in Sharia investment. Although its explanatory power is limited (R² = 0.094), the findings indicate that financial literacy functions as an enabling factor rather than a sole determinant of Sharia investment interest. These results suggest that improving financial literacy alone is insufficient to substantially increase interest in Sharia investment. Therefore, policies aimed at promoting Sharia investment should integrate financial education with institutional trust-building, product accessibility, and socio-religious engagement, particularly in underdeveloped and frontier regions such as Southwest Papua.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the challenges and strategies employed by multi-subject teachers in carrying out the teaching and learning process at SD Nurul Sakinah Azzahrah, Sorong City. The emergence of multi-subject teachers is a consequence of the limited number of educators, requiring one teacher to handle several subjects beyond their area of expertise. This research applied a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation review. The findings reveal that teachers face several major challenges, including limited time for lesson preparation, varying levels of subject mastery, and a lack of learning media and facilities. Nevertheless, teachers demonstrate adaptability by employing strategies such as utilizing simple technology, creating context-based learning materials from the local environment, and adjusting instructional approaches to students’ characteristics. Support from school leadership and collaboration among teachers also enhance the effectiveness of learning. The study concludes that creativity, professional reflection, and strong commitment are key factors in ensuring the success of multi-subject teachers in maintaining learning quality in elementary schools with limited resources.
